Chevy's Super Cruise Comes to the 2024 Silverado 1500

In the pickup truck segment, the competition is fierce, especially among the domestic brands Chevy, Ford, and Ram. To be considered the best, they are constantly pursuing new features, trims, and technological innovations. In the current model year, the Chevy Silverado 1500 reminds the masses why Chevy has been a segment leader since its formative years. If you’re already looking at Chevy trucks for sale near Lakehills and are wondering what new developments the bowtie brand has planned, allow us to satisfy your curiosity. At North Park Chevrolet, we love relaying news of the Silverado 1500—most notably, the addition of Super Cruise as an available tool for the High Country trim. What is Super Cruise? We’d like to explore this new landmark technological achievement and explain why so many prospective Silverado 1500 drivers are enthusiastic about it. What Is Super Cruise? To gain a full understanding of Super Cruise, we need to go back to 2017. The story doesn’t begin with Chevy but with another GM brand, Cadillac. Super Cruise was launched as a unique feature on the Cadillac CT6, being the industry’s first hands-free semi-autonomous driving system. This system introduced by GM was a massive leap forward. Super Cruise works by utilizing cameras and radar located along the exterior of the vehicle—but there is also much more to it than just technology to provide oversight to drivers. At the time of this feature's launch, Super Cruise had 130,000 miles of pre-programmed roads and highways spanning all over North America. This allowed for hands-free operation over multiple states, which meant that driver fatigue could be greatly reduced during interstate travel. By 2019, the amount of roads expanded to over 200,000—and now, in the 2024 model year, this amount has been expanded to 400,000 miles of roadways in the US and Canada. Adapting to the Silverado 1500 Now that we’ve firmly established what Super Cruise is and how its advanced hands-free technology works, you might wonder how it successfully adapts to a vehicle such as the Silverado 1500. Sure, both the Silverado 1500 and Cadillac CT6 were manufactured by GM, but the Cadillac CT6 was a very different type of vehicle than Chevy’s flagship pickup truck. This is a valid point, as many who utilize a vehicle like the Silverado 1500 often employ it for very different tasks than one would with a Cadillac sedan. This is very true, and as such, a Silverado 1500 equipped with Super Cruise would use it for much more than interstate cruising. When it comes to Super Cruise being employed by the Silverado 1500, the basic premise is still the same, as it allows for hands-free operation and is highly effective at reducing driver fatigue while traveling long distances. However, one item that makes Super Cruise far more advanced than any other semi-autonomous driving program—such as those offered by Rivian, Tesla, or Ford—is that Super Cruise can be directly implemented to assist you when you’re trailering and towing. That’s right: the most advanced driving technology to come around in years can help you transport a heavy payload. Super Cruise can detect the presence of a trailer after it’s been hooked up to your Silverado 1500. When a trailer is attached, this greatly impacts your potential braking distance and reaction time, and it can make avoiding obstacles more difficult due to the excess weight dragging at your rear. Super Cruise will recognize when a trailer is connected and will calculate that change in the total amount of combined weight. This allows for increased reaction time and helps you keep a more considerable gap between you and the other vehicle you share the road with. One of the most critical aspects of having a trailer in tow is knowing how to take certain corners cautiously, as a trailer can make this more difficult. Super Cruise serves as a counterweight, keeping the truck and trailer centered when sharp corners are taken. If you run a commercial business, such as auto transport, utilizing Super Cruise on the road to faraway destinations can reduce driver fatigue and make the entire process much smoother and safer than conventional towing. Other Notable Advantages of Super Cruise While a fair amount of drivers enjoy employing the Silverado 1500 for towing, there are other notable functions that Super Cruise in Chevy’s flagship truck can take advantage of. The advanced lane-centering technology that Super Cruise employs is effective at keeping you perfectly positioned in your lane. While it’s recommended that you still maintain focus on the road ahead, Lane Change on Demand—which assists in looking for an opening—is a great way to reduce the stress of busy highway driving, and Automatic Lane Change is a highly effective way of ensuring you reach your destination on time by helping you bypass the slower traffic. Super Cruise’s driver attention system is another advantage not even offered by Rivian and is another essential item that can help reduce driver fatigue. Get Excited About Hands-Free Truck Driving In an age where technology advances relatively quickly but isn’t always readily available for the average consumer, Chevy has taken strides to perfect what they offer and make it more accessible. Super Cruise is the latest tech tool from a corporation that helped give birth to the auto industry and will continue to create innovative tech for many more generations to come. Introducing the Super Cruise to the Silverado 1500 means that towing and traveling have become more accessible to the hardworking everyman. Not only does this mean that the daunting tasks that many truck drivers deal with have become less restricted, but the increased amount of safety proves that Chevy is the one manufacturer who intends to bring a better future to the people who support them. So, should you be excited about Super Cruise coming to Chevy's flagship pickup? Yes, you should be excited, and you should look forward to the many other advantages that Chevy has in store for us in the future. A Guide to Towing With the Chevy Silverado 1500

When it comes to versatility and accomplishing nearly impossible tasks, many drivers have come to rely on the Chevy Silverado 1500 as the gold standard of capability. From pulling trailers across state lines and employing this pickup on job sites as the ideal workhorse, there’s very little that the 2024 Silverado 1500 can’t accomplish when it’s put to the test. If you’re looking for an affordable vehicle that can deliver the goods, then a new or used Chevy Silverado for sale will surely be the best tool for the job. Today, we’ll be breaking down what each variation of the Silverado 1500 can tow based on powertrain and drive configuration; this way, you can judge what incarnation of Chevy’s flagship product will suit you best. Towing Capacities By Powertrain The 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 has four different powertrain options, each with unique advantages regarding towing capacity. Right now, we'll be taking the time to break down each one and their capabilities. Later on, we’ll review the different packages that you can employ to enhance your towing experience with the Silverado 1500. 2.7L TurboMax As the standard engine on the Silverado 1500, the newly rechristened “TurboMax” delivers a turbocharged punch in the performance factor with 310 hp and the capability to generate 430 lb-ft of torque. Its best workplace capabilities are when your pickup is equipped with 2WD, as it possesses this model's highest payload rating of 2,260 lbs, and it can easily pull 9,500 lbs. Even with 4WD, this vehicle is still highly capable, with a towing capacity of 9,300 lbs and a slightly diminished payload capacity of 2,140 lbs. The TurboMax engine is the only one of the four to be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, as the others will have a ten-speed automatic, getting you noticeably smoother shifting between gears. 5.3L V8 The first of two V8 engines available on the 2024 Silverado 1500, the 5.3L V8 has the second highest amount of power output (at 355 hp) and can pull 11,300 lbs in 2WD or 11,000 lbs when equipped with 4WD. Drivers looking for a higher towing rating than the TurboMax will be pleased with the 5.3L V8, and it still gets a significant payload limit as it can hold 2,180 lbs in 2WD or 2,110 lbs in 4WD. It’s the perfect combination of towing prowess and payload with ample performance. 6.2L V8 The second available V8 for the 2024 Silverado 1500 is heavy on power, with 420 hp and the ability to generate 460 lb-ft of torque. While the 6.2L V8 is a 4WD-exclusive vehicle, it has the highest towing capacity of the three gas-fueled engines, with a maximum rating of 13,300 lbs. While it can still provide a decent payload of 1,980 lbs, it has the second-lightest capability of the four engines. The 6.2L V8 is perfectly formulated for high performance and exceptional towing strength. 3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel Diesel powertrains have been enjoying a renaissance in the past several years, much of which is owed to GM’s 3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel six-cylinder, a highly capable piece of machinery that generates 305 hp and an impressive 495 lb-ft of torque. Despite having the lowest payload limits of this model—at 1,970 lbs in 2WD or 1,960 in 4WD—its towing prowess matches the 6.2L V8 with the ability to pull 13,300 lbs in 2WD or 13,300 lbs in 4WD. The Duramax is ideal for drivers with plenty to tow and long distances to travel, as it offers exceptional fuel economy. Chevy's Max Trailering Package If towing and trailering are what you live for, then it's imperative that you have the right equipment for any job. The Max Trailering package is one of the best things you could consider when upgrading your 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500. Not only does this outfit make your vehicle a more powerful workhorse from the ground up, but the towing capabilities of each powertrain option are expanded. One of the additions to the Silverado 1500 that heightens its performance is a rear automatic locking differential that forces both rear wheels to run in unison. As any experienced tower attests, this ability is invaluable when exerting control while hauling or carrying a heavy load through tenuous, soft, unsteady ground. Other notable adjustments to this truck include tuned shock absorbers, a heftier rear axle, an enhanced radiator (to relieve some of the pressure on the engine while in use), and a trailer brake controller to allow for safer and more efficient transportation. Increase Your GCWR Rating Knowing your vehicle's GCWR is one of the most critical items when doing any towing task. The GCWR (Gross Combined Weight Rating) is the total combined weight of the truck, trailer, and passengers. Knowing this allows you to comprehend how much total weight your vehicle can handle, which is imperative when you're coming close to that figure. With the Max Trailering package and 20-inch wheels, the 2.7L four-cylinder version’s GCWR increases from 14,000 to 14,500 lbs. To maximize the towing limit of 9,500 lbs, a Regular Cab, long bed, and 2WD are required. The 5.3L V8 considerably improves its GVWR with the Max Trailering package, increasing from 15,000 to 16,800 lbs. To pull its maximum weight of 11,300 lbs, a Double or Crew Cab and 2WD are required. As previously mentioned, the 6.2L V8 and 3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel engines grant the most potent towing strength. Opting for the Max Trailering package with either of these extends capability far beyond expectation. The GCWR of the Silverado 1500—when equipped with a 6.2L V8—goes from 15,000 to 17,800 lbs, and an RST trim with 20-inch wheels further increases this capacity to 19,100 lbs. Both the short and standard bed of the Crew Cab can pull 13,200 lbs, and a standard double bed can pull 13,300 lbs with minimal difficulty. As for the 3.0L Duramax, its GCWR rating (with the Max Trailering package) is nearly identical to the specs of the 6.2L V8 with the RST trim, being 19,000 lbs compared to 19,200 lbs. When equipped with the Max Trailering package and 20-inch wheels, the Duramax outfit is easily the most accessible for getting the best towing ratings. With a short bed, 2WD, and Crew or Double Cab configuration, you'll get 13,300 lbs of towing capacity, making the Duramax the ideal means of towing prowess. Towing Has Never Been Easier Than With the Chevy Silverado 1500 In an age where many manufacturers have taken to streamlining their lineup, Chevy still cares that diverse drivers have diverse needs, especially when it comes to towing and trailering. Thus, you can turn the 2024 Silverado 1500 into a lean, mean towing machine with the right engine and the Max Trailering package. Getting into a Chevy Silverado 1500 and hitching your load is easy when you shop with the experts at North Park Chevrolet. We have new and used versions of the Silverado 1500, as well as larger, heavy-duty Silverado models and the midsize Chevy Colorado. We know you have a lot of hard work ahead of you, and we want to work extra hard to ensure that you get into the pickup truck that'll allow you to accomplish what other trucks might find impossible.

Highlighting the Tech of the 2024 Chevy Equinox EV

The 2024 Chevy Equinox EV is the first of its kind, but it will definitely not be the last. Chevy has seriously raised the bar with the introduction of the Equinox EV—an electrifying example of automotive ingenuity and cutting-edge technology. This model is packed full of tech designed for the modern era, and it's a prime example of the leaps and bounds that are taking place in the auto industry and how driving is changing for the better. Technology is improving on all fronts, but with the introduction of more and more EVs, we are seeing a new breed of technologically advanced vehicles—ones that rely on seemingly futuristic tech to provide an answer to inflating gas prices, growing ecological concerns, and more. Chevy’s electric lineup is expanding, and the Equinox EV is just another chapter in the story of Chevy becoming electrified. So, let's explore its excellent tech in greater detail... Get Your Charge On If you have never driven in an electric vehicle, you may be unfamiliar with range anxiety, which is a term coined for the fear of running out of electric charge while on the road. This was once a much bigger issue, as the charging infrastructure that is in place today took time to build up. Charging stations have become more readily available over the past decade, with almost two hundred thousand charging stations available in North America. Thanks to Chevy’s efforts to make going electric easier, there are a series of tools provided that make planning out your day easier. With the myChevrolet app, users have access to route planning, which allows them to plan out a trip dependent on where there are charging stations. This type of navigation assistance is invaluable, making it a tool that every EV owner should have access to. Taking the EV initiative further, Chevy has also rolled out Ultium Charge 360, a move forward in making going electric even easier; this move involves Chevy making charging more convenient, more affordable, and more inclusive. Infotainment Done Right The Equinox EV is available in an array of trims, each with a large 17.7-inch infotainment touchscreen as the main focal point of the cabin. It is here that drivers and passengers can access the suite of technology features designed to improve every drive. All trims provide Google Built-In compatibility, putting the convenience of Google features at your fingertips. Access Google Maps to use, using a feature that helps you find charging stations nearby so you can drive in comfort and peace of mind, free of range anxiety. There is even a feature that helps you search for Super Cruise-compatible roads, a nifty program in itself. Google Play is another feature that can be accessed through the touchscreen display, along with Google Assistant, which makes it convenient to send texts, make calls, and more. The display is nestled in the center stack, taking up little room while simultaneously offering a large screen that puts safety, entertainment, and informational apps right within reach. Here, you can monitor the level of charge available, see maintenance reminders, and even control basic functions like air conditioning and heating. Even the instrument cluster has been replaced with a detailed and state-of-the-art display for a sleek and uniform look. Standard Safety Tech The Equinox EV is equipped with a plethora of standard safety features, as high-tech as you would expect the features to be on an electric vehicle. Each Equinox EV has the Chevy Safety Assist suite, which includes features like Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning. These two features work together, helping prevent unintentional drifting: Lane Departure Warning can issue alerts if it senses that a vehicle is leaving its lane unintentionally, while Lane Keep Assist provides gentle wheel turns to keep the vehicle in the center of the road. The Following Distance Indicator is another standard feature and would be filed under the preventative category. This feature uses cameras and sensors that watch the vehicle in front of you, monitoring how close it is in seconds and displaying that time on your dash so that you know how long it would take you to brake before impact. Not only does this feature indicate if you are following too closely, but it helps to develop positive driving habits by reminding you to keep your distance. A safety feature that has been unsung in its brilliance is the IntelliBeam automatic high beams. Imagine you are driving on a dark and winding road, and your high beams are on; a vehicle appears in front of you, blinded by your high beams, and it can no longer see the bend in the road or know how sharply to turn... With this simple yet effective feature, you and the approaching vehicle can remain calm thanks to its automatic setting: it will turn down your high beams until the vehicle has passed, at which point it kicks them back on for smooth sailing. Optional Safety & Convenience The Equinox EV is also available with an assortment of safety and convenience features that are sure to make life a bit easier. The Safety Alert Seat might seem a bit more like an arcade game rather than a safety feature, but it is, in fact, just that. The Safety Alert Seat is a feature that uses motors within the seat to send pulses through the driver’s seat in order to indicate the direction of a potential danger. If the vehicle senses an imminent impact, these pulses can provide just enough notice for you to act effectively. If the pulses are not right for you, don’t worry because they can be swapped for audible alerts. Another safety feature is Reverse Automatic Braking, which can sense objects when the vehicle is in reverse. If an object is detected, the program provides alerts or even hard braking in an attempt to minimize or avoid impact. Safety technology has come quite a way over the last few decades, and the fact that these features are being included as standard in a fully electric vehicle is mind-blowing. You don’t have to give up anything when going electric—except trips to the gas station! Convenience features sometimes ride the line where safety is concerned, which is the case for some of those available on the Equinox EV. Adaptive Cruise Control is one of these features, making it safer and more convenient to be on the road. Depending on the vehicle, a forward-facing camera and radar technology scan the area ahead, monitoring the vehicle directly in front of you. A following distance can then be set, allowing cruise control to take over while maintaining a safe distance from the vehicle in front. Adaptive Cruise Control can even allow your vehicle to follow the vehicle in front to a stop, taking a lot of pressure off you while driving in traffic. It can even function while trailering—and considering that the Equinox EV has a towing capacity of 1,500 lbs, that is pretty nifty. Also, let us stop and take a moment and be excited at the fact that an electric vehicle has a max towing rating of 1,500 lbs! The Tech of the 2024 Equinox EV Times are changing, forcing us to also change and adapt. As some tech becomes smarter, it is crucial that our lives are able to keep up. It is an impressive feat that the auto industry has so masterfully built the EV market so quickly, and is improving it still with each passing year. Even more impressive is that the technology behind EVs is keeping up.

The Chevy Silverado 1500 Runs Circles Around the Toyota Tundra

When you’re the best at what you do, someone always wants to prove that they’re better. Competition brings out the best in all of us, and nowhere is that more apparent than in the auto industry's diverse brands and segments—in particular, the pickup truck segment. Long praised as the definition of versatility and prowess, the pickup truck has a demanding clientele who only wants the best; so, in a competition where settling for second is not an option, the Chevy Silverado 1500 has been surpassing expectations since it debuted in 1999. Naturally, other manufacturers would like nothing more than a product of their own that could outperform Chevy’s flagship pickup, and Toyota is one of them. The Toyota Tundra—one of the Silverado 1500’s biggest rivals—is a notable adversary. Today, we'll take a look at both vehicles and present an objective comparison to determine which one is the victor. Those interested in Chevy trucks for sale near Lakehills will be keen to read on and learn what we have to share about these two trucks... Performance and Power When it comes to determining what truck best suits a driver’s needs, more often than not, performance is the determining factor. From towing and trailering to the rough and tumble world of off-roading, truck owners will more often than not inspect what’s under the hood before considering their purchase. So, it’s only natural that this is where we will begin our examination of the 2024 Silverado 1500 and 2024 Tundra. Toyota is one of the many brands that have taken it upon themselves to streamline the production of their vehicles by offering a single powertrain across all trims. However, the Tundra has attempted to copy what Chevy has done with their midsize pickup, the Colorado, by having the same powertrain but with its specs differing based on trim level. The Toyota Tundra has a 3.4L i-FORCE turbocharged V6 paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission. The base trim has the advantage of 358 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque, while all others benefit from 389 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque. For those who are members of the working world and look to employ a reliable workhorse on the job site, the Tundra can easily tow 12,000 lbs when properly equipped, and it possesses a maximum payload capacity of 1,940 lbs. At its most efficient, the Tundra offers decent fuel economy figures, with 20 MPG in the city and 24 MPG on the highway. Despite these numbers being rather impressive, they pale in comparison to the many advantages the Chevy Silverado 1500 offers. Utilizing a single powertrain with multiple specs works in a smaller compact truck like the Chevy Colorado, but having various powertrains with different ratings and capabilities is required for trucks that are depended upon for greater work and play. Four different engines can be equipped with the Silverado 1500 to meet any driver’s needs. The standard offering, a turbocharged 2.7L four-cylinder, provides 310 hp and can generate 430 lb-ft of torque. Chevy’s four-cylinder outclasses the payload capabilities of the Tundra with a maximum rating of 2,260 lbs. As has been the case for the past several years, two V8 engines can be utilized on the Silverado 1500, the first of which is a 5.3L with 355 hp, 383 lb-ft of torque, and a payload capacity of 2,180 lbs. Chevy’s other V8—a 6.2L—provides an impressive 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque, and it can pull 13,300 lbs. This towing rating is shared with Chevy’s available 3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel six-cylinder. The Duramax also provides impressive fuel economy with an EPA-estimated 23 MPG of city driving and 29 MPG on the highway for a combined 26 MPG. The verdict is that the Silverado 1500 outperforms the Tundra in capabilities and options, and it can be utilized in more ways. Designed for the Hard Road Ahead If we were to stop comparing these vehicles at their performance levels, it would be no contest. In the interest of fairness and the remaining objective, however, we’ll venture to look at the intricacies of design and how each model stacks up for the unpredictability of the road ahead. One of the aspects of buying a pickup truck is having multiple trims to choose from, each one geared for a unique purpose, be it off-roading, towing, or simply getting around town. One noticeable disadvantage that the Tundra has its the lack of diversity in its various trims. There are five altogether, with no specifications as to which are designed for work or off-roading. In fact, the base trims don’t even come with a hitch for towing as standard—something that many drivers depend on for their daily duties. Some drivers might be content with scouring the Tundra's different trims and attempting to find out which features are ideal for what purpose, but narrowing the playing field and being able to make an easier choice is one advantage that the Silverado 1500 holds over the Tundra. With nine trims, the Silverado has a configuration that agrees with everyone. Those who are looking for a workhorse to employ on the job will find favor in the Silverado 1500 WT (Work Truck) trim, while those who are more interested in embarking on an adventure along the path less traveled will gravitate toward the Custom Trail Boss or LT Trail Boss, or they could possibly opt for the off-road-oriented ZR2 trim which elevates the performance in this sector by a considerable amount. Finally, those who taste the finer things in life will certainly love the High Country, which now comes with adaptive cruise control as a standard feature. The Silverado 1500 also has the advantage of subtle items that make a considerable difference. Its available Multi-Flex tailgate is one notable advantage and can turn the Silverado 1500 into an instant headquarters. The Silverado 1500 can also be equipped with various trailering technologies, such as an integrated brake controller that makes loading and unloading easier than ever. While the Toyota Tundra certainly provides some notable capabilities in its powertrain and various trims, the Silverado is built with the average truck driver in mind, and its vast array of features reinforces this concept. Lakehills Drivers, Get the Silverado 1500 at North Park Chevrolet We certainly want to thank you for taking the time to read this in-depth comparison of the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 and the 2024 Toyota Tundra. After a thorough examination of both vehicles, it’s easy to see why the Silverado 1500 has remained popular among many drivers. If the Toyota Tundra hopes to usurp the Silverado 1500 from its prime position, it certainly has a long way to go. However, if you live in the Lakehills area and are looking for a truck that can surpass your expectations, you won't have to go very far because the Silverado 1500 can be found here at North Park Chevrolet. With plenty of new and used models to choose from, as well as staff members who understand the intricacies and advantages of each trim, we’ll guide you through the buying and selection process, ensuring that you make the choice that benefits you for years to come. You can take advantage of our parts and service department, too, which will help keep your Silverado 1500 in excellent shape, standing the test of time as its reputation suggests.

When Everyday Driving Matters Coasting down I-410, you’re bound to run into traffic, unexpected delays, and many motorists with the same goal as you: to arrive safely and on time. When you’re looking for a truck that can take you to the Herbert H. Construction site efficiently and comfortably, the 2024 Silverado 1500 won’t let you down. With a variety of high-performing and fuel-efficient engines, taking advantage of fuel savings is easy with this full-size truck. Its most efficient is the 3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel, which gets an EPA-estimated 29 MPG on the highway, making it easy for you to travel between job sites without having to stop by the gas station for frequent fill-ups. In addition to efficiency, the Silverado 1500 also offers an immensely comfortable interior, and this year, you’re able to take advantage of even more features to make the experience more enjoyable. Between the Midnight Edition and a Blackout appearance package, you’re able to add sultry dark accents to enhance the ambiance inside. You’re also able to take advantage of standard wireless smartphone capabilities, and when it comes to enjoying the drive, Super Cruise will help with that. With the ability to travel hands-free on over 750,000 miles of pre-mapped roadways across the continent, the Silverado 1500 is a commuter’s dream. You’ll find that, when it comes to the everyday drive, the Silverado 1500 is better prepared to offer a more enjoyable ride. Heavy-duty models like the Silverado 2500 HD are larger than the Silverado 1500, so it may be a bit more challenging to maneuver around town. You also won’t find features like hands-free driving capabilities in the Silverado 2500 HD. What you will find, however, are plenty of trims to help you tailor your drive to meet your needs, as well as top-of-the-line trailering tech to help you tow even the heaviest of equipment with absolute confidence. When Hard Work Is at Hand Tackling challenging jobs isn’t for the faint of heart, and whether you’re starting a new project for Vidal Construction or carrying heavy equipment down I-10, you need a truck that can get the job done. Many hard workers gravitate toward the Silverado 1500 due to the fact that it’s not just highly capable on the job site, but it’s also very versatile. It showcases a maximum towing capacity of 13,300 lbs with its 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 or its outstanding Turbo-Diesel. Plus, with its highly configurable and durable bed, loading up with materials for the workday is no sweat for this accomplished workmate. With its available Multi-Flex tailgate—which functions in six unique ways to accommodate more cargo—plus a best-in-class cargo volume of 89.1 cu.ft., the Silverado 1500 is extremely functional and ready to take on any task Where the HD models stand out is with their sheer strength, with the 2024 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD able to tow up to 22,510 lbs with its 6.6L Duramax Turbo-Diesel V8. This means you’re able to handle more with the Silverado 2500 HD than the standard Silverado 1500, which may be more appealing to your needs. Like the Silverado 1500, you can also enjoy the multifunctional tailgate; however, your cargo volume is slightly less, with the 2500 HD offering a maximum of 83.5 cu.ft. for all of your work gear. When Adventure Calls Recently, the Silverado nameplate was armed with "ZR2" capabilities, which made it even more desirable for adventure enthusiasts in San Antonio. The 2024 Silverado 1500 ZR2 is equipped with 33-inch mud terrain tires, Multimatic DSSV dampers, and an off-road cut bumper that allows it to offer a 33.5-degree approach angle. Reinforcements are prevalent, with high-strength steel bumpers, aluminum skid plates, and an off-road-ready chassis that’s able to stand up to the elements. When it comes to taking on challenges in the Texas Hill Country or even locally at Pleasanton Road Trailhead, the Silverado 1500 ZR2 won’t disappoint. The Silverado 2500 HD ZR2 is new this year, bringing 35-inch mud terrain tires, a 1.5-inch suspension lift, and a rear e-locker to enhance control and stability on the trails. The truck you choose will depend on what you’re comfortable driving; the Silverado 1500 ZR2 is smaller and more agile than the heavy-duty version, which appeals to off-roaders who want to feel in complete control over their adventure. Although the Silverado 2500 HD is just as capable off-road as the Silverado 1500, some drivers may be discouraged by its larger size, worried that maneuvering it when the ground becomes treacherous may be a chore. When Versatility Is Required Both the Silverado 1500 and the Silverado 2500 HD showcase many ways in which to customize different components to suit your driving needs. From powertrains to trims to cab and bed sizes, there are plenty of ways to get the truck you need for your travels throughout Bexar County and beyond. You’ll find that the Silverado 1500 offers a bit more choices compared to the HD model, especially when it comes to powertrains. The Silverado 1500 can be loaded with your choice of four powertrain options versus the Silverado 2500 HD’s two. Both trucks showcase an exceptional trim lineup, with the High Country trim being the top-of-the-line option for both. From premium leather appointments to open-pore wood trim, the High Country meets even the most discerning driver’s expectations. Both the Silverado 1500 and the Silverado 2500 HD also offer a multifunctional tailgate, which is a big win for Chevy, as many of its competitors have yet to offer this type of innovation. When it comes to being able to take on any challenge, both trucks prove that versatility is a priority. When Dependability Is Non-Negotiable Both the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 and the 2024 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD are phenomenal trucks. If you’re searching for one you wish to use solely for work, you’ll want to look into the HD arsenal; however, if you want a truck that can do just about anything, the Silverado 1500 may be your perfect match, as it’s strong enough to take on tough tasks, efficient enough to tackle the interstate, and fearless enough to conquer the trails. The level of versatility in the Silverado 1500 is unbeatable, making your time traveling through San Antonio one of the best experiences you’ll have in a pickup truck that is one of the most reliable on the market. When you don’t want to be let down, Chevrolet delivers vehicles that are built to withstand the elements, making it easy to choose a Silverado to accompany you to all the places you need to go.

Chevrolet: Your Go-To Choice for SUVs

It’s no secret that SUVs are the top-selling auto category in the US. A quick look around your morning commute will confirm that. This brings its own issues, however, when you try to navigate an abundance of options when shopping for an SUV. Simply put, when something is popular, you tend to have many versions of it to choose from, which can be overwhelming if you’re tackling it on your own. The good news is that you don’t have to choose your SUV on your own. At North Park Chevrolet—your Chevy dealer near Converse —our team is ready and willing to assist you on your journey. Even better? Our lineup of Chevy SUVs offers some of the best options in the industry. The bowtie brand dates back to 1911, when it quickly gained a reputation for producing dependable and adaptable automobiles. This led to the creation of several iconic vehicles, including the Suburban, in 1935, which is widely considered the first SUV. In addition, the fun and functional Chevy Blazer—which initially debuted in the 1960s—has long been a contender in the SUV market. Add to that powerful options like the Tahoe and Traverse, as well as the versatile and agile Trax, and you’ve got a lineup that stands out in every category, from advanced cabin tech to driver assistance features that provide you with confidence as you navigate through Converse. Read on to learn more about Chevy's SUV lineup and which one might work best for your needs. Chevrolet's SUV Lineup Chevrolet has a long list of SUVs for you to choose from, including both gas-powered and electric vehicles. The lineup ranges from five-seaters to the ability to load the whole family up, and one of the mainstays of the Chevy lineup is this brand’s dedication to safety. Chevrolet’s suite of driver assistance features is called Chevy Safety Assist. Some of the standard features included are Forward Collision Alert, Automatic Braking, and Front Pedestrian Braking, which work together to help you avoid accidents as you travel down the road. In addition, available features like a Following Distance Indicator and Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning help you stay where you need to be on the road, which is vital when navigating the highway. Additionally, if you have new drivers in the family, you’ll appreciate Chevy’s Teen Driver mode, which gives you peace of mind that your teen is driving safely as they head out on their own. Beyond advanced safety features, you’ll find many other amenities that make the Chevy SUV lineup a strong contender when choosing your next SUV. The following is a summary of each nameplate: The Trax The Chevrolet Trax was initially introduced in 2015 in the US but went on hiatus in 2019. Its reincarnation in 2022 introduced a leaner, more modern, and bigger version than before. Today’s Trax is an excellent choice when commuting into San Antonio, offering you the choice of five trim levels and room for five. It also features an easy-to-use dash with a seamless connection to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as available wireless charging, up to 54.1 cu.ft. of cargo space, and a 1.2L Turbo engine that gives you up to 30 MPG combined. The Trax is a great option for individuals, those who commute to and from work, and younger drivers. The Trailblazer The Trailblazer gives you the perfect blend of convenience and comfort for everyday driving and adventure, especially when you choose the ACTIV trim. The Trailblazer also gives you generous cargo space, with 8.5 feet of cargo length thanks to the standard fold-flat passenger seat—and for those wanting easy unloading and loading of cargo, there’s a hands-free liftgate. Like the Trax, it has seating for five and offers a variety of trim options. Additionally, you’ll find advanced technology features like available wireless charging, a standard 11.0-inch touchscreen that gives you access to your favorite apps, and a standard push-button start. As mentioned, the Trailblazer is a great option for the everyday driver, but its three drive modes and available all-wheel drive also make it an excellent choice for adventure, such as a day of hiking at Converse City Park Walking Trail or a night under the stars, thanks to its 1,000-lb towing capacity, which is perfect for a travel trailer. The Equinox The Equinox has been in the Chevrolet lineup since the 2005 model year. It offers generous leg and headroom, as well as cushioned seating and a thoughtful interior that caters to longer trips and family driving. It also has an available Switchable All-Wheel Drive, which not only makes driving around Converse easier but also improves fuel efficiency. Even better? The Chevrolet Equinox was named #1 in "New Vehicle Quality" by JD Power for the second year in a row in 2023. Plus, available features like the hands-free power liftgate and the panoramic sunroof make the Equinox feel luxurious. That’s not all. Families, DIYers, and those who love spending the day at Garden Ridge Market Days will love the 63.9 cu.ft. of cargo space and the hidden storage compartment under the rear cargo floor. Finally, the Equinox can be found in an electric version if saving more money at the pump is a priority. The Blazer Like the Equinox, the Blazer is offered in both gas-powered and electric versions. The Blazer also gives you the chance to shift easily from highway driving to the road less taken, especially when choosing the RS trim, which gives you an available Twin-Clutch Advanced All-Wheel Drive System and up to five drive modes. It’s the exterior of the Blazer, however, that makes Converse drivers stop for a second look. Whether you choose a Blazer with a two-toned roof or the Midnight/Sport Edition with its black accents and 18-inch high-gloss black-painted aluminum wheels. That’s not to say that the interior doesn’t hold its own, offering you and your passengers thoughtful styling, cushioned seating, an intuitive dash, and access to your favorite apps. Plus, the standard sliding rear seats make it easy to increase the cargo space if needed—and speaking of, you'll get up to 64.2 cu.ft., which is perfect for hiking equipment, groceries, or soccer gear. Like the Equinox, the Blazer is a great option for everyday drivers who want an SUV that shifts easily from work to play and looks good every step of the way. The Traverse The Traverse is the first of three larger Chevrolet SUVs. It’s a great option if you need more seating capacity, as it offers seating up to eight, but it also provides you with best-in-class cargo volume with 98.2 cu.ft. of available space when the seats are folded down. The Traverse also gives you the chance to personalize the exterior with your choice of the Midnight Edition, Sport Edition, RS, and Redline Edition. Our team can walk you through each of these and how they might make your daily drive better. On the tech side, the Traverse offers available Alexa Built-In, in-vehicle apps, USB charging ports in every row, available navigation through the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Plus System, and more. Essentially, the Traverse is a fantastic choice if you have a larger family, regularly transport a large number of people, or simply want more space and a well-connected ride. The Tahoe Speaking of technology, you’ll find it in spades when choosing the Chevy Tahoe. For instance, the Tahoe gives you up to 13 camera views, which is significant if you’re taking advantage of its ability to tow up to 8,400 lbs. Additionally, you’ll find a smooth ride and responsive handling thanks to the Tahoe’s Magnetic Ride Control and a first-in-class Four-Corner Air Ride Adaptive Suspension system. This means that the Tahoe adjusts to you and your needs, optimizing ride height to provide you with more ground clearance at Green Lake RV Resort or lowering your ride height for better aerodynamics. The Tahoe also gives you three dynamic engine options, all of which provide you with the power you need to tackle any task, and you’ll gain confidence when towing the camper or boat with an available Advanced Trailering System. Finally, your passengers will love the available rear-seat media system, and you’ll love the available 12.0-inch Driver Information System that keeps you in the know during the drive. The Suburban Last but not least, you’ll find Chevy’s very first SUV—the Suburban—which offers the most room for passengers and cargo, with a seating capacity of up to nine people and a best-in-class cargo space of up to 144.7 cu.ft. Plus, it was named the "Best Large SUV for Families" in 2023. You’ll also enjoy the most advanced safety features in the industry, such as the available Super Cruise tool that gives you semi-autonomous hands-free driving on more than 400,000 miles throughout the United States and Canada. What Are the Custom and Custom Trail Boss Trims of the 2024 Silverado 1500?

The Chevy Silverado 1500 is one of Chevrolet’s most popular and iconic vehicles. A full-size, light-duty pickup, it’s a highly versatile option that’s terrific for San Antonio drivers. Its dimensions make it perfect for daily driving up and down the River Walk, while its capabilities make it right for contractors and agriculturalists with major tasks to tackle in the region. When it comes to a vehicle that captures the unique blend of Mexican and Texan culture of the Alamo City, it doesn’t get much better than this salt-of-the-earth, hardworking—yet humble—pickup. So, if you’ve been looking for a San Antonio Chevy dealer, pay us a visit at North Park Chevrolet. We’re a short drive out of the city and have all of the trims of the Silverado 1500. Because the Silverado 1500 comes in so many trims, we receive a lot of questions about what makes each one special and for which driver they’d be best suited. Two trims we get a lot of interest in are the Custom and the Custom Trail Boss. Their shared word “Custom” would imply the two have similarities—and they do. However, they also have important differences that we’ll cover, and that make them right for two very different respective drivers. The Custom—A Step Up From the WT Let’s start with the Custom, which is one step up from the WT. The WT is the bare bones yet highly capable and durable trim that’s great for construction workers, farmers, and DIYers who just need a solid, no-frills pickup. The Custom builds on the WT with plenty of standard convenience features, which makes it ideal for those who want a little more in the way of creature comforts and a cabin that’s just as enjoyable as it is functional. The Custom also adds some features that boost functionality in light-duty work settings. One notable difference outside of comfort and convenience features to be aware of is the powertrain. While the WT has the standard TurboMax engine and the available 5.3L EcoTec V8 engine, the Custom ditches the available V8 and only has the TurboMax option. Custom Convenience Package Right away, you’ll notice that the Custom trim has a standard suite of features that the WT doesn’t, all wrapped up in the Custom Convenience Package. These include… Remote Start: This feature lets you start your ignition from your keyfob before you even get in your vehicle. Many drivers love this feature during San Antonio’s notoriously hot and humid summers because it enables them to start the air conditioning before getting into their vehicle. Content Theft Alarm: This will activate a distinctive alarm if an unauthorized entry is attempted on the vehicle. Rear-Window Defogger: As its name suggests, this feature will clear up that rear window when an interior/exterior temperature difference has caused a visibility issue. LED Cargo Bed Lighting: You’ll enjoy a clear view of the contents of your bed even after the sun sets (or before it comes up) with this feature. EZ Lift, Power Lock/Release Tailgate: With an internal torsion bar and damper, this tailgate requires less effort to open and close. Plus, it’s lockable, helping you better protect its contents when combined with a bed cover. Trailering Package The Custom trim also gets the Trailering Package standard, which the WT does not. This adds many features that increase your trailering capabilities and command, such as a trailering hitch platform, four- and seven-pin connectors, and an electrical harness to connect your trailer’s lights and brakes to your truck. Our favorite feature of this package, however, and one we love to show off in person, is the hitch guidance. When in reverse, this will show guidelines on the rearview camera that help you align your truck with your trailer and offer a close-up view of the hitch. Additional Perks Inside the cab of the Custom trim, you’ll find some additional perks that are nice to have. One of these is the ten-way power driver seat with power lumbar support, which lets drivers easily get into the most comfortable position for long drives and reduce lower back fatigue. Heated power outside mirrors add to the goodies in this trim and can quickly melt away ice that’s interfering with your ability to see the reflection of these mirrors. In both the cab and the bed, you’ll find 120-volt outlets, which are great for powering a variety of tools and appliances at work sites and campsites. Finally, the Custom trim enjoys 20-inch all-season tires with 20-inch bright silver painted wheels—a step up from the 17-inch tires of the WT trim. The Custom Trail Boss Beefs-Up the Custom Trim Now, you might be wondering where the Custom Trail Boss fits into all of this. The reason it shares the word “Custom” with the Custom trim is that it enjoys almost all of the comfort and convenience features that the Custom trim does. However, the “Trail Boss” part of its name is due to its more off-road-ready features, as it’s refined while also rugged. More Mechanical Options The Custom Trail Boss re-adds the 5.3L EcoTec3 V8 as an engine option, but the TurboMax is still the standard powertrain here. It also adds a ten-speed automatic transmission, which earns drivers access to tons of other great capabilities like a tow/haul mode, powertrain grade braking, and cruise grade braking. The latter two features make intuitive adjustments to braking and shifting to boost command when going downhill. The Custom Trail Boss also has a standard two-speed automatic transfer case. Put simply, it gives you the option to drive in two-wheel drive mode when appropriate (like on paved roads) to save the truck’s four-wheel drive capabilities for another time. Plus, it allows for neutral mode when towing. Off-Road Capabilities So, where do the off-road features come into play? Some of them you can see right away, like the skid plates that protect the undercarriage from rocks and debris on unpaved roads. Then there are the red recovery hooks that will come in handy if your truck gets stuck and you need somebody to bail you out. You’ll also see much more intimidating tires. The Custom Trail Boss has Mud-Terrain Goodyear tires with wide, deep channels made for channeling mud away from the vehicle. Finally, this trim gets an automatic locking rear differential, which locks both rear wheels to turn at the same time when it senses a traction loss. The Custom Adds Convenience, and the Custom Trail Boss Takes a Rugged Turn With the Silverado 1500 being available in so many trims, many drivers need a bit of guidance in understanding which one will fit their preferences and their needs. As you get to know them better, you’ll find that the Custom is a terrific option for drivers who need a solid work truck but want to enjoy some added comfort and convenience features. Then the Custom Trail Boss is for those who like all the perks of the Custom but who need more rugged capabilities; it’s slotted above the WT in terms of comfort features but beneath the ZR2, the more serious off-road Silverado 1500 trim. If you’re still determining which Silverado 1500 is right for you, we’d love to answer your questions. We have all of the trims and a friendly, knowledgeable team ready to help San Antonio drivers find their best truck.

How Comfortable Is the Chevy Suburban for Large Families?

If you are a parent with a large family, then you know the importance of choosing a vehicle that is comfortable for your kids. This is especially true if your children are still young. Sure, they may be fine in their car seats right now, but at some point, they are going to get bigger. As parents, we want to make sure the vehicle we ultimately pick is roomy enough for all of our children—especially if they love to bicker. If the vehicle you pick is too small, this will only increase the chances of your young ones getting into petty squabbles in the back seat. In addition, you are going to want a large enough trunk to fit their school bags, sporting gear, musical instruments, and anything else they may need. Well, if you are looking for a vehicle that is comfortable—especially if your offspring number three or more—then the 2024 Chevy Suburban may be the best model for you. When you come to North Park Chevrolet in Castroville, our team of experienced salespeople will work with you to get you the best model for your growing family. This is why so many parents choose a 2024 Chevy Suburban. No other vehicle has the space and capabilities to match the Suburban, which is why it's the perfect family SUV. Incomparable Roominess for You and the Kids When it comes to interior space, no vehicle comes close to giving you the room you need for your entire family. In fact, the Chevy Suburban has over 176 cu.ft. of space inside its passenger compartment. This allows you to easily fit up to eight passengers, so you will have no problem bringing your kids' friends along for the ride. The Suburban has an actually useful third row. What’s more, if you need room for nine passengers, the Suburban LS is available with an optional front bench seat that gives you the ability to carry three passengers in front as well as in the second and third rows. There are plenty of other smaller SUV models that advertise themselves as having a third row. However, when you open the door and peer inside, you end up with a feeling of disappointment. These so-called three-row SUVs have a third row that looks like a rumble seat on some of those old roadsters from a hundred years ago. Unless you are transporting very small children, you know that is just not going to work. The Suburban delivers a fully functioning third row of seats for up to three passengers. The dimensions prove this, with 38.2 inches of headroom, 62.8 inches of shoulder room, and 36.7 inches of legroom. With that much space, you could give a ride to your kids’ entire high school basketball team without anyone complaining about feeling cramped. Cargo Space in Abundance One other issue many three-row SUVs have is that they sacrifice trunk space for passenger room. Sure, they may be able to fit seven or eight passengers, but the cargo space in the back leaves something to be desired. As a result, you really can’t take them on a road trip with the full complement of passengers or offer to carpool to school since there is nowhere to put luggage or school bags. The 2024 Chevy Suburban has no problem giving you the best of both worlds. Not only can you carry up to eight passengers, but you can also fit everyone’s belongings in the trunk. Just open the liftgate in the back, and you will be amazed by 41.5 cu.ft. of cargo space, which is more than most SUVs can give you with the third row folded down. In addition—on every trim except the base LS—you get a standard hands-free programmable power liftgate; this will let you access the trunk even if your hands are filled. This ability to carry passengers and cargo without having to choose between the two is probably why Chevy refers to the Suburban as "the People Mover." A Comfortable and Convenient Interior If you have a large family, then you know the value of having an interior that is comfortable and offers plenty of convenience. The designers at Chevy have given the Suburban a number of different interior fabric choices, with the base trim LS featuring cloth seat trim that is tasteful and easy to clean. Meanwhile, every other trim has leather seats, including the RST, Premier, and High Country. The front seats on every trim except the LS come heated, with the Premier and High Country also featuring heated second-row outboard seats and heated and ventilated ones in front. These will be great to keep warm on cold winter mornings. The floors on the Suburban come carpeted with carpeted floor mats as well. This will make keeping your interior clean, as you can vacuum up messes left by your little ones. There are also beverage holders placed strategically throughout the interior so everyone can stay hydrated. The 2024 Suburban comes with a Chevrolet Infotainment 3 System. The LS has an 8.0-inch touchscreen, while the other models have a 10.2-inch touchscreen and connected navigation system. Standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will allow you to connect your smartphone to the system for hands-free calls and texts, while a wireless charging pad (which comes on all trims except the LS) will help you and your kids keep your devices charged even if they left their cables at home. The standard Wi-Fi hotspot capability will allow your kids to surf the 'net while you take them to school, sports practice, or wherever else they need to go. Three Powertrain Choices Chevy offers three different engine options on the 2024 Suburban. Each comes paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission. Most models feature a 5.3-liter V8 gas engine that produces a robust 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque and allows you to tow up to 8,300 lbs. If you choose this engine with rear-wheel drive, you can get up to 17 MPG in combined fuel economy, while available four-wheel drive provides exceptional traction at the cost of a little extra gasoline. The Suburban is also available with a 6.2-liter V8 that delivers an impressive 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. When equipped with this engine, the Suburban can tow up to 8,200 lbs while providing 16 MPG in combined fuel economy, regardless of which drivetrain you choose. You can find the best fuel economy on the 2024 Suburban with a 3.0-liter Duramax Turbo-Diesel I-6. This gives you 277 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque, allowing you to tow up to 8,000 lbs, and it delivers an impressive 23 MPG in combined fuel economy with rear-wheel drive and 22 MPG with four-wheel drive. These are the kind of fuel economy numbers that will help a hard-working family save a few dollars at the pump. Standard Safety Suite Chevy has always prioritized passenger safety. This is certainly the case with the 2024 Suburban, which comes with a full complement of airbags positioned throughout the passenger cabin to keep you and your family shielded from injury in the event of a collision. One other way to keep your family safe is by giving you the ability to avoid accidents. This is why each 2024 Suburban comes equipped with the Chevy Safety Assist suite of six advanced driver assistance features. For example, the Following Distance Indicator will let you know if you are getting too close to the vehicle in front of you. If the system detects an imminent crash, the Forward Collision Alert will sound so that you can take evasive action, while the Automatic Emergency Braking will engage to bring your Suburban to a safe stop or reduce the impact of the collision if an accident is unavoidable. In addition to the Chevy Safety Assist, you will get a Buckle-to-Drive feature that will not allow you to put the Suburban in gear until the driver’s safety belt is fastened. In addition, you will get an alert if any of your other passengers haven’t buckled up. Finally, the standard Rear Seat Reminder will let you know to check the back seats when you leave your Suburban in case one of your kids has fallen asleep during the ride; this reminds you to count heads before heading out of your vehicle. The 2024 Chevy Suburban Is Great for Families of All Sizes Parenting can be a challenging experience, especially if you’ve got quite a few kids. For folks with larger families, few models compare to the Suburban. If you want an SUV with the roominess, safety, comfort, and performance you desire, then the 2024 Chevy Suburban is the one to get for you and your family. Stop in today and drive out with a Suburban. Your family will thank you!

A 2024 Chevy Blazer EV driving in the countryside.

Sporty SUV Showdown: Chevy Blazer EV vs Mustang Mach-E

If you’re looking for a crossover EV that’s both sporty and practical, the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV and 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E are a great place to start. Inspired by some of their brands’ most iconic models, these two crossovers prove that established automakers are well on their way to perfecting the EV formula. The boring, minimalist EVs are on their way out, steadily being replaced by a new generation of models that prioritize design and performance just as much as efficiency and sustainability. Those in the market for a Mustang Mach-E or Blazer EV for sale have probably noticed similarities between the two. The most obvious parallel might be their styling, as the Mach-E’s Mustang-inspired heritage is right there in the name, but Chevy has taken a more subtle—and decidedly less misleading—approach. The Blazer EV borrows more than a few styling cues from Chevy’s storied Camaro muscle car but, unlike Ford, didn’t risk confusing drivers by leaning too heavily on the name. Most drivers are unlikely to mistake this midsize SUV for the low-slung muscle car, but in resisting the urge to weaponize the Camaro name, Chevy has decided to let the Blazer EV stand on its own merits. So, how do these two game-changing EVs compare in performance, range, and interior tech, and which one is the right choice for you? Read on as we explore the finer points of the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV and 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E and see if they have the goods to back up their muscle car-inspired styling. Performance With the 2024 Blazer EV, Chevy has created one of the most versatile midsize crossover EVs on the market. The lineup is packed with a variety of drivetrains, allowing drivers to customize their 2024 Blazer EV to their unique driving needs. It all starts with the entry-level LT trim, which is available in either front- or all-wheel drive. The all-wheel-drive model is powered by two robust electric motors that allow the crossover to produce some 288 hp, slotting it above many of its rivals in the midsize EV segment. Couple that with 333 lb-ft of torque, and you’ve got a potent package that’s a relative bargain at just over $57k. Stepping up a level, the all-wheel-drive RS matches the LT’s 288 hp while throwing some larger wheels and handsome styling upgrades into the mix. For those seeking a little more in the way of high-speed excitement, there’s the RS in a rear-wheel-drive guise. This RS nixes the dual-motor approach for a single, upgraded motor that delivers power directly to the rear wheels, creating 340 hp and providing some peppy acceleration that’s a noticeable step up from the AWD version. Then there’s the SS trim. Chevy didn’t have to create a 557-hp, 648-lb-ft-of-torque version of the family-friendly midsize SUV, but as soon as you put the pedal to the metal for the first time, you'll surely be glad they did. The all-wheel-drive SS is a standout in the segment. Packed with a host of upgrades—including massive 22-inch wheels and restyled bodywork—the SS is worth a second look for any driver looking for an edge-of-your-seat EV experience. Fledgling electric brands might have proved just how thrilling an all-electric SUV can be, but with models like the Blazer EV SS, orthodox automakers like Chevy now seem to be on a mission to beat them at their own game. While the Mach-E might wear the storied Mustang badge, don’t let this model’s pony car heritage fool you: the Mach-E is a crossover EV through-and-through. The Mach-E does recall the original Mustang in its sporty styling, but long-time fans of the original pony car will probably be a little underwhelmed if they’re expecting the crossover to live up to the thrills of its namesake. That’s not to say the Mach-E is a boring ride; the range-topping GT Performance Edition packs enough horsepower to speed drivers from zero to sixty in just under four seconds, and a new, off-road-focused variant dubbed the Rally is likely to match that—but at 266/290 hp, the same can’t be said for many of the lower trims. On the performance front, the Mach-E is also a little underwhelming when it comes to customization. Drivers can choose between a standard-range, 70-kWh battery or a 91-kWh extended-range pack—and while all of the trims come with optional AWD, the Mach-E simply can’t compete with the Blazer EV when it comes to pure power and torque. We certainly understand trying to capitalize on the Mustang name, but Ford has cut some corners in the name of adapting a pony car for the crossover segment. Range All the power in the world doesn’t amount to much if you run out of juice halfway through your drive. While range was once a limiting factor in the EV segment, the times are changing, with 300 miles of range becoming the norm across much of the industry. So, how do the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV and Ford Mustang Mach-E compare when it comes to range? Let’s start with the Blazer EV, which delivers an impressive 279 miles for the AWD versions of the LT and RS trims. Opting for rear-wheel drive makes the RS the long-distance runner of the lineup, giving drivers 324 miles of all-electric enjoyment. Then there’s the range-topping SS. While we’re still awaiting the crossover’s official EPA-estimated rating, Chevy has hinted that the SS will get just south of 300 miles of range on a single charge, likely clocking in around 290 miles. The 2024 Blazer EV also comes with the latest and greatest in the automaker’s charging technology, gaining as much as 78 miles of range in ten minutes when connected to a DC Fast Charger. That sort of speed is an important factor to many EV drivers who don’t want to sacrifice convenience in the name of sustainability. When it comes to the Ford crossover’s range, the 2024 Mach-E maxes out at 312 miles in the California Route 1 trim. The Mach-E Premium comes in a close second at 310 miles, but only when optioned as a rear-wheel drive model. If you’re looking to experience one of the Mustang’s sportier trims, be prepared to sacrifice some range with the GT trim offering just 270 miles per charge. That number drops to 260 miles with the GT Performance trim, which might seem like a fair trade-off until you consider that the Blazer’s SS trim will probably surpass that number by some 40 miles while offering similar performance. Ford started experimenting with some new battery chemistry on some 2023 Mach-E models, and while anything would be an improvement over the previous Standard Range battery’s maximum range of 226 miles offered on some of last year’s entry-level models, we’re not exactly blown away by the 2024 version’s 250 mile range. The Standard Range battery should be serviceable if you’re the type of driver who generally sticks to commuting and running errands around town, but with a maximum range of 250 miles for the Select trim, longer road trips could be a little heavy on the pit stops. Interior Chevy has taken some real chances with the Blazer EV, and it certainly pays off when it comes to the interior. This midsize crossover comes with a long list of amenities like heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and ambient lighting, but it's this EV’s design and tech features that really set it apart from the crowd. The Mach-E might lean heavily on the Mustang name, but if you were to blindly plop a driver behind the wheel, it’s hard to see anyone pegging Ford’s EV as the sportier of the two. From the two-tone color scheme and red accents to the thick, Camaro-like steering wheel and cockpit-like dashboard design, the Blazer EV evokes a sense of speed even when you’re sitting in the driveway. This can largely be credited to the SUV’s 17.7-inch touchscreen display, which, aside from being simply massive, is also angled toward the driver in a pleasingly ergonomic manner. The 11.0-inch digital instrument display, AC vents, controls, and storage cubbies have all been designed to match the Blazer EV’s sporty aesthetic, creating a dynamic interior that’s a pleasant departure from some of the more restrained styling we’ve seen from the rest of the segment. Some drivers might find the approach a little overwhelming, but it definitely lends itself to an engaging ride. Ford’s EV covers all the expected bullet points—15.5-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, wireless device charging, a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot, and available premium sound system—but the overall execution is a bit lacking. The Mach-E’s interior is just a bit bland, especially when compared to the noticeably sporty styling of the Blazer EV. Let's use the 15.5-inch touchscreen as an example: this display runs on Ford’s Sync infotainment platform, which, to its credit, is now employing machine learning to create a bespoke experience for up to four different drivers, but its placement and orientation seem like an afterthought. Ford has vertically mounted the screen, giving it a portrait-like orientation that resembles an oversized iPad. This sort of interface might be familiar and intuitive to many drivers, but the placement just doesn’t make sense in this sort of automotive application. Those in the passenger seat might appreciate the view, but the screen will seemingly be less-than-convenient to view and interact with for those behind the wheel. It might seem like a minor gripe, but it speaks to an overall lack of polish that’s reflected throughout the rest of the cabin. The Mach-E’s dash is also noticeably bare when compared to many of its segment rivals. Aside from the touchscreen display and a small digital instrument cluster display, the Mach-E’s dash is somewhat bland. Clean, minimalist interiors might be the hallmark of the EV segment, but slapping the Mustang name onto a model comes with certain expectations in terms of style and sportiness. The Mach-E largely fails to meet these expectations, especially when compared to the Blazer EV. The Blazer EV Over the Mustang Mach-E Performance, range and amenities aside, the Mach-E Mustang and Blazer EV do differ in a few other important ways. The most notable would have to be the price. While the entry-level version of Chevy’s EV offering retails for around $10k more than Ford’s. Given the Blazer EV’s superior range, horsepower, and interior design, the price seems to be justified—and that’s not even factoring in the potential savings in the form of state and federal EV tax credits. The government's incentives allow drivers to knock $7,500 off the price of a new EV and as much as $4,000 off a used model, bringing the Blazer EV’s total price under the all-important $50k mark. Ultimately, it will be up to drivers to choose between the two models. Those looking to save a few bucks and invest in a relatively run-of-the-mill crossover EV experience will likely be satisfied by the 2024 Mustang Mach-E, but it’s hard to make a case for the Ford in a world where the Blazer EV exists. Besting the Mustang Mach-E in virtually every category, the Blazer EV marks an exciting new entry that—fingers crossed—is just a small taste of Chevy’s all-electric future.

It’s Better to Blaze Trails: How the 2024 Chevy Trailblazer Stacks Up Against the 2024 Hyundai Kona

As automotive enthusiasts and discerning customers seek the perfect compact SUV, the 2024 Chevy Trailblazer emerges as a standout choice here at North Park Chevrolet. Our unyielding dedication to delivering vehicles that surpass expectations is epitomized by the Trailblazer—an amalgamation of style, performance, and advanced features—and we're fortunate to have the Chevy Trailblazer for sale, waiting to be scooped up and driven home. But what exactly makes the Trailblazer the SUV to buy, especially when this segment is packed to the brim with choices? Allow us a few minutes to explain. In this exploration, we will dissect the strengths of the 2024 Chevy Trailblazer, particularly in comparison to the 2024 Hyundai Kona, to elucidate why the Trailblazer is the unequivocal leader in its class. A Captivating Intro to the Chevy Trailblazer The 2024 Chevy Trailblazer is not merely an SUV; it is an embodiment of excellence in the auto industry. From its arresting design to its robust performance, the Trailblazer beckons drivers seeking an unmatched driving experience. We are going to take a deeper look into the nuances of the Trailblazer to substantiate why it's such a good investment that oozes power, comfort, and style. Design and Style Aesthetics play a pivotal role in any new vehicle, and the 2024 Chevy Trailblazer does not disappoint. With its dynamic and modern design, the Trailblazer commands attention on the road. Its bold front grille, sleek lines, and overall style exude confidence and sophistication that sets it apart in a sea of compact SUVs. Upgrading to the LT trim adds roof rails for a sportier look, and the off-road-oriented ACTIV trim also adds dual exhaust pipes and a nifty two-tone roof. In comparison, the 2024 Hyundai Kona, while stylish, tends to embrace a more conventional design. The Trailblazer's distinctive appearance is a testament to Chevrolet's commitment to pushing boundaries, making it the preferred choice for drivers who crave a vehicle that makes a lasting impression. For example, while it does offer roof rails, you aren’t going to find a two-tone roof to help you stand apart from the crowd. Performance and Handling When it comes to performance, the 2024 Chevy Trailblazer raises the bar. Boasting powerful engine options and advanced handling, it offers a smooth and exhilarating driving experience. Choose between the 1.2L Turbo three-cylinder base engine and the 1.3L Turbo three-cylinder based on whether you prefer fuel economy and front-wheel drive (FWD) or more power and all-wheel drive (AWD). Whether navigating city streets or embarking on a weekend adventure, the Trailblazer strikes an ideal balance between efficiency and performance. Its responsive handling, precise steering, and well-tuned suspension contribute to a driving experience that is not just enjoyable but also confident and composed. The 2024 Hyundai Kona, while offering decent performance from the 2.0L four-cylinder engine, falls short of the Trailblazer's prowess. You will likely end up spending more money to upgrade to the 1.6L Turbo four-cylinder from the 2.0L four-cylinder. You also do not get a trim level that standardizes AWD. What’s more, the steering system doesn’t offer much road feel—not nearly as much as what you get from the Trailblazer. Comfort and Technology Once you slide behind the wheel of the 2024 Chevy Trailblazer, you will quickly find yourself greeted by a thoughtfully designed interior that prioritizes comfort and convenience. With a spacious cabin, comfortable seating, and cutting-edge technology, the Trailblazer ensures every drive is a pleasure. The front passenger seat folds flat, assisting the 60/40-split folding rear row in creating extra storage space. The intuitive infotainment system, seamless smartphone integration, and advanced safety features elevate the driving experience to new heights. A standard 11.0-inch touchscreen provides wireless smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A premium Bose sound system is available, as is a wireless smartphone charging pad. While the 2024 Hyundai Kona provides a comfortable interior, it does not match the Trailblazer's level of sophistication. The Trailblazer's attention to detail and utilization of high-quality materials create an inviting atmosphere, setting it apart in terms of interior comfort and technology; the only edge the Kona has is a slight increase in its touchscreen size, at 12.3 inches. Cargo and Practicality Cargo space is often a deciding factor for those seeking to buy a new SUV. The 2024 Chevy Trailblazer excels in this regard, providing a decidedly spacious cargo area that easily accommodates luggage, groceries, or sports equipment with that flat-folding front passenger seat. The versatile rear row can be folded to create even more cargo space, and available roof rails make the Trailblazer an ideal choice for those with active lifestyles. Utility simply is not the Kona’s strong suit. While the 2024 Hyundai Kona offers a respectable amount of cargo space, it may not match the Trailblazer's level of versatility. Fuel Efficiency and Cost of Ownership In an era where fuel efficiency is of the utmost importance, the 2024 Chevy Trailblazer stands out with its high fuel economy. Efficient engine options and an aerodynamic design contribute to a lower cost of ownership, translating to savings at the pump over the long term. The utmost 1.3L with FWD is estimated by the EPA to get 29 MPG in the city and 33 MPG on the highway; with AWD, those numbers drop slightly to 26 MPG in the city and 29 MPG on the highway—a good showing either way. Comparatively, the 2024 Hyundai Kona may boast decent fuel efficiency, but it may not rival the Trailblazer in this regard. The utmost 1.6L with AWD gets an EPA-estimated 26 MPG in combined city and highway driving, putting it at least on par with most direct competitors. The Trailblazer's commitment to providing a fuel-efficient yet powerful driving experience makes it a practical choice for those who prioritize economic sustainability. Still, you do not sacrifice power, especially with the Trailblazer's upgraded engine. Safety Features and Innovation Safety is a primary concern for modern drivers, and the 2024 Chevy Trailblazer is at the forefront of innovation in this domain. Packed with advanced safety features such as lane departure warning, forward collision alert, and automatic emergency braking, the Trailblazer ensures a secure driving experience for both the driver and passengers. While the 2024 Hyundai Kona also incorporates safety features, it may not match the Trailblazer's highly comprehensive suite of advanced technologies. The Trailblazer's commitment to prioritizing safety underscores its dedication to providing drivers with peace of mind during every drive. Connectivity and Infotainment Need to remain connected while on the go? Rest assured that the 2024 Trailblazer offers ample connectivity with its advanced infotainment system. The Trailblazer keeps drivers and passengers connected and entertained throughout their journey with smartphone app integration via wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Opting for the Convenience Package (available on the LT and above) gives you extra USB charging ports and a household-style power outlet. On the flip side, the 2024 Hyundai Kona's infotainment system, while functional, may not offer the same level of sophistication and user-friendly experience as the Trailblazer. The ease of use and innovation in the Trailblazer's touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto make it a frontrunner in the competitive compact SUV segment. Why the 2024 Chevy Trailblazer Is the Ultimate Choice As we wrap up this comprehensive comparison, the superiority of the 2024 Chevy Trailblazer becomes abundantly clear. From its captivating design and impressive performance to its cavernous interior and advanced technology, the Trailblazer excels in every aspect that matters to astute SUV buyers. Visit North Park Chevrolet today to explore the 2024 Chevy Trailblazer and experience firsthand the exceptional qualities that set it apart. Three Things We Love About the 2024 Chevy Trailblazer

Chevrolet’s subcompact SUV, the Trailblazer, is back for another year of delivering drivers fun and function at an amazing price point. We love hosting the Chevy Trailblazer for sale and introducing it to any shopper who tells us that they’re on a budget but don’t want to sacrifice awesome features. The Trailblazer might be small, but the value it delivers is mighty. Many drivers know that the Trailblazer is fuel efficient—getting an EPA-estimated 30 MPG combined in front-wheel drive with the base engine, or 31 MPG combined in FWD and 28 MPG combined in AWD with the improved alternate engine—and most know about its attractively low starting MSRP. They also know it’s safe, too, as the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) awarded it their "Top Safety Pick" designation. And yet, we think there are some features that aren’t obvious at first glance, and these features could encourage drivers to purchase this terrific vehicle. Once you get to know this model, you’ll realize just what a great value it offers for its price point. So, without further adieu, here are three understated aspects we love about the 2024 Chevy Trailblazer... Configurable, Convenient Cargo Solutions If you love the easy-to-handle small dimensions of the Trailblazer but worry they translate into limited cargo capabilities, think again. The Trailblazer is something of a cargo magician, allowing you to fit more into it than you’d think is possible by looking at it. We know that cargo is often a concern for subcompact SUV drivers, but you’ll be impressed with all you can fit in the Trailblazer. Part of its cargo magic comes from the Trailblazer’s standard fold-flat front passenger seat. Plenty of SUVs have fold-flat rear seats, but you don’t see a fold-flat front passenger seat every day. This seat gives you the option to store items up to 8.5 feet in length in your Trailblazer! That opens up a world of cargo possibilities, giving you the freedom to transport snowboards, Christmas trees, area rugs, and more. With the rear seats and front passenger seat down, you get a total of 54.4 cu.ft. for cargo. So, when you just need to bring one passenger along for your drives, you can fit a whole lot of stuff in your Trailblazer, and when it's just you, you can fit an incredible amount. Thanks to the hands-free power liftgate, you’ll also easily access it; when your hands are full, this motion-activated liftgate will open in response to a swift swipe beneath it. There’s even a standard center console, convenient for stashing smaller items in the cabin. And if you max out the interior cargo space but still need to take some gear with you, utilize the available roof racks; you can securely tie a number of items—from strollers to kayaks—up there. Trust us when we say that transporting cargo is a breeze in the 2024 Trailblazer. If cargo concerns have been keeping you from checking out the Trailblazer, put those worries aside. Playful and Powerful Performance You don’t have to get a massive off-road vehicle or full-size SUV to enjoy some spirited performance and great capabilities. The subcompact Trailblazer has features you might not expect from this vehicle class, that empower you to explore more. First off, the 2024 Trailblazer enjoys three available drive modes: normal, sport, and all-wheel drive. Activate either one, and the vehicle will instantaneously make system adjustments to help you be more in command in a variety of settings. Choose normal for everyday driving, sport for a more spirited behind-the-wheel feel, and all-wheel drive when you need maximum traction. Opt for the ACTIV trim, and you’ll even get off-road suspension tuning, a functional skid plate, and sport-terrain tires. The result is a vehicle that’s ready to explore rough terrain and keep you in command wherever your adventurous spirit takes yo A nine-speed automatic transmission comes standard across the trim lineup. This gives you the power to take small steps, which will come in handy when you’re utilizing the Trailblazer’s 1,000-lb towing capacity on hilly terrain. And we already touched on the fuel economy, but it bears mentioning twice: the 2024 Trailblazer gets terrific fuel efficiency, both in all-wheel and front-wheel drive. If you’re looking to save at the pump, you should be looking at the Trailblazer. Throw away any preconceived notions you had about what a subcompact SUV can and can’t do, because the Trailblazer is surprisingly capable. Comfort That Counts The Trailblazer is peppy, fuel-efficient, and highly practical, but did you know it’s quite comfortable, too? Inside its cabin, you’ll find tons of features that make long drives not just tolerable but enjoyable. The first feature we’ll point out is actually found in other Chevrolet models. It’s just so popular that Chevy smartly installed it across its lineup—and that’s the Active Noise Cancellation. This system emits a soft sound that cancels out unwanted engine noises, creating a quiet and peaceful passenger compartment. Passengers can enjoy deeper naps and you can enjoy a serene drive with Active Noise Cancellation. Breathe easy wherever you go, even if the outside air is less than clean. The 2024 Trailblazer has an air filter, which continuously pulls debris, pollution, and other irritants out of the air. The air in the city might not be perfect, but at least you can enjoy clean air in your SUV. We know how important it is to be comfortable in the driver’s seat, especially if you face long commutes. Making sure that you’re situated the perfect distance from the pedals—at the ideal height for visibility and the right angle for comfort—is pivotal to an enjoyable drive. It can also reduce bodily fatigue. That’s why we appreciate the available eight-way power adjustable driver’s seat in the 2024 Trailblazer. The available heated front seats are also a nice touch on cold days, so you and your co-pilot can enjoy full-body warmth on winter days. Plus, the heated steering wheel will keep the driver’s hands warm and flexible.
