2027 Chevy Traverse

The 2027 Chevy Traverse is a versatile three-row SUV designed for everyday driving, family travel, and longer road trips. For 2027, Chevrolet enhances the lineup with an extensively updated High Country trim that adds new luxury and technology features.

There are four trims available, each targeting different shoppers and their travel needs. The 2027 Traverse lineup includes four trims, giving shoppers options ranging from the LT and off-road-oriented Z71 to the performance-focused RS and luxury-oriented High Country. The trims include:

  • LT
  • Z71
  • RS
  • High Country

The Traverse competes in the three-row SUV segment alongside models such as the Kia Telluride and Honda Pilot. For 2027, Chevrolet gives the High Country a comprehensive update to further distinguish the lineup.

What's New

For 2027, the High Country receives a comprehensive update inside and out. Exterior changes include new badging, 22-inch high-gloss machined-face aluminum wheels, and a Tritan Satin grille finish, while the cabin gains additional premium materials and technology.

Inside, the High Country features Jet Black seats with Natural Tan accents, Natural Tan seatbelts, real wood trim, and debossed first-row headrests. New technology includes an interior cabin camera, which is also available on the RS. The Cabin Glance interior camera gives front occupants a view of passengers in the second and third rows.

The available Surround Vision Recorder can save and replay video while driving, while Security Recording captures footage around the vehicle when the alarm is triggered. These features enhance the Traverse's convenience, safety, and security, improving its functionality. Together, these cameras and recording technologies expand the ways drivers can monitor the cabin and surroundings.

Performance

The 2027 Chevy Traverse is powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged inline 4-cylinder engine that makes 329 hp and 326 lb-ft of torque. The turbocharged engine provides the power needed for highway driving while supporting the Traverse's towing capability for family trips and recreational use.

The Traverse is available with front- or all-wheel drive, allowing shoppers to choose between greater fuel efficiency with front-wheel drive and improved stability with all-wheel drive. Front-wheel drive can appeal to shoppers who prioritize efficiency, while all-wheel drive provides additional traction for changing road conditions. This gives shoppers the flexibility to choose the drivetrain that best fits their typical driving needs.

The all-wheel drive can also be enabled or deactivated depending on when you need it. All-wheel drive can provide additional traction on wet, slippery, or icy roads, as well as on light dirt paths. Available drive modes give drivers additional control over vehicle response based on road and weather conditions.

Stability, Control, and Towing

The engine includes automatic start/stop functionality, and drivers can override the system when desired. This gives drivers who prefer not to use the feature the option to disable it, which is highly useful for those who want to keep the vehicle ready for quick acceleration during stop-and-go traffic.

When properly equipped, the 2027 Traverse can tow up to 5,000 pounds, allowing drivers to bring along a camper, boat, or other trailerable equipment. Available Hitch Guidance can assist when connecting a trailer, giving you greater precision without having to exit the vehicle to check the trailer's position relative to the Traverse.

The available Hitch View provides additional visibility around the hitch and trailer connection through the rear camera. It's an excellent option for ensuring the trailer is hitched correctly. Plus, with features like Hill Descent Control, you can confidently travel with your trailer along undulating terrain while maintaining control of both vehicle and trailer.

Modern Design

The third-generation Traverse emphasizes a bold, modern exterior with a sleek profile and athletic stance. Its sleek silhouette gives the Traverse a sportier presence while maintaining the size and practicality expected of a three-row SUV, making it broadly appealing to those who want a vehicle that looks good and offers the functionality expected of a family vehicle.

Available LED lighting includes walk-up and exit animations, along with turn-signal functionality, increasing visibility around the vehicle during travel and when loading or unloading. Roof rails can expand the Traverse's carrying capability with available accessories such as cargo carriers.

The Traverse provides up to 22.9 cu.ft. of cargo space behind the third row, 56.6 cu.ft. behind the second row, and 97.6 cu.ft. with both rear rows folded. That space can accommodate everything from camping gear and luggage to larger equipment and recreational items.

Accessibility For Families

For families, everyday convenience is just as important as exterior design and technology. Quick access to the cabin and cargo area can make everyday family driving easier. The Traverse addresses this with an AutoSense Power Liftgate, standard across the lineup.

The AutoSense Power Liftgate can open when the key fob is nearby, making it easier to access the cargo area when your hands are full. Push-button start adds convenience when you're ready to drive, while remote start and locking allow you to prepare or secure the vehicle from outside the cabin.

Available heated, power-folding side mirrors with integrated turn signals help maintain visibility in colder or damp conditions. The integrated signals also make the Traverse's intentions more visible to surrounding drivers. Deep-tinted privacy glass is also standard on the Traverse, providing added privacy and protection from the sun and glare.

Comfort and Convenience

The Traverse seats up to eight passengers, with 44.29 inches of front-row legroom, 41.46 inches in the second row, and 32.13 inches in the third row. These dimensions give passengers across all three rows space for everyday drives and longer trips, with plenty of room to stretch, sit comfortably, or even take a nap.

Seat materials range from premium cloth to Evotex Ultra upholstery, giving shoppers several options across the Traverse lineup. The Traverse also comes with an 8-way power driver seat with four-way power lumbar support and driver memory settings, so you can save your own presets.

The front passenger seat offers up to six-way power positioning and four-way power lumbar support. Available heated and ventilated front seats add another layer of comfort, with three ventilation levels and one-touch heating. This is a feature that's highly useful on warm summer days and chilly winter mornings.

Cabin Climate and Storage

An available heated leather-wrapped steering wheel adds comfort during colder weather, while available heated second-row outboard seats provide additional warmth for rear passengers. The third-row bench can also be folded when additional cargo space is needed, easily making room for more storage.

Armrest storage, open cubbies, and multiple cupholders give passengers convenient places to keep everyday items. Available cargo organizers can provide additional organization for gear and belongings, keeping fragile items separate from heavier or larger items, or separating personal belongings among passengers.

Tri-zone automatic climate control lets occupants in the front, second row, and rear adjust the cabin environment to their preferences. This works in conjunction with the cabin humidity sensor, which can detect the temperature and humidity levels and automatically adjust them to match the individual preferences.

Tech and Safety

The Traverse offers a broad selection of connectivity features, including smartphone integration, wireless charging, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, and Google built-in. USB and wireless phone charging are standard across the lineup, giving occupants multiple ways to keep devices connected on the go.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto provide smartphone integration, while Wi-Fi hotspot capability helps keep passengers connected on the go. Use the Wi-Fi hotspot so you and other passengers can stay online even on the go.

Google built-in provides access to Google Play apps, maps, and voice-activated assistance. The system can be accessed through the 17.7-inch HD touchscreen, while an 11-inch digital driver display provides customizable information in front of the driver. Likewise, a heads-up display is available on the driver's side.

Keeping You Safe On The Road

Every Traverse trim comes equipped with a range of active and passive safety features. Airbags in the front cabin and a safety canopy provide protection during a collision, while active assists can help prevent collisions. The Chevy Safety Assist includes six standard driver-assistance technologies, which include:

  • Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking
  • Forward Collision Alert
  • Front Pedestrian and Bicyclist Braking
  • Following Distance Indicator
  • Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning
  • IntelliBeam

Teen Driver with Buckle-to-Drive is standard across the Traverse lineup and can encourage safer driving habits for younger drivers. The Teen Driver Report Card can also help parents keep tabs on their teens. The system monitors feature usage, creating a picture of driving habits based on how often the active assists are utilized to help keep the driver safe.

Another available feature for the Traverse is Super Cruise, which makes use of all of the integrated safety systems to provide a semi-autonomous, hands-free driving experience. Super Cruise is designed to supplement the driver's awareness rather than replace it, making it highly convenient for long commutes or extended highway travel.
