Our Favorite Used Chevy Colorado Models

For those seeking exceptional value, it’s hard to beat the deals you’ll find at your local used truck dealership. Built with heavy-duty usage in mind, trucks are better able to withstand the wear and tear that comes with everyday use. While most drivers plan on their vehicles lasting until the 200,000-mile mark, the reality is often quite different. According to a study by iSeeCars, as few as one percent of all new vehicles sold in the US hit that milestone, but pickups tend to fare much better. In fact, they’re almost twice as likely to see the odometer hit 200,000, with 1.9 percent achieving the feat.

Since the mid-1960s, the muscle car has been a popular choice in North America. While the Ford Mustang came first, it was the Chevrolet Camaro that gave Ford a run for its money. Even today, they are in close competition with one another; wherever you see a Chevrolet Camaro dealer showing off its iconic model, you’ll probably see a Ford dealership nearby doing the same. The Camaro has earned its household name status, not just for its beefy engine but also because of its performance on and off the track, with each generation contributing to the evolution of the automotive industry.
Six generations later, Camaro is still as popular as ever, whether its drivers are on the racetrack, flying down Route 66, or headed toward downtown for a night of fun. While some muscle cars are better in a specific arena, the Camaro has overcome quite a few obstacles to remain at the top of the food chain in all areas. In 2023, Camaro and Mustang will say goodbye to the Dodge Challenger and Charger, both discontinued at the end of 2023, which means less competition. So, does the 2023 Chevrolet Camaro live up to the hype? How does this latest model measure up against its elders?

There’s no doubt that the SUV’s popularity in recent years is at an all-time high. Much of this is due to several manufacturers answering the consumer needs for smaller vehicles that are easier to handle in both urban and suburban environments. The typical family needs a small enough vehicle to park in a garage yet still offer a considerable storage capacity for transporting people and objects from place to place. While this is agreeable for some, others need a vehicle of epic proportions to properly take care of their needs.

It boasts a comfortable interior and bold exterior that make it the ideal mix of luxury appointments and a hardworking demeanor. Within its trim lineup, you’ll see many different features available, and you’ll notice a vast MSRP difference from the base models to the top ones. Understanding which one is right for your needs will ensure you pay for the features and power you need and don’t get stuck paying for anything you don’t want.
Standard Safety Across All Trims
Before diving into the specifics of each trim, let’s take a look at what you can expect to see on most, if not all, of the trims: safety features. It doesn’t matter if you are driving through the city or hitting the trails, you want a vehicle that can keep you safe, and the Chevy Silverado 1500 is that vehicle. Each trim comes with Chevy Safety Assist standard. This suite comes with six advanced driver assist features to help you navigate different driving scenarios.
The Following Distance Indicator will let you know how close you are following the vehicle ahead to help prevent you from tailgating. Working in tandem, you have the Forward Collision Alert, Automatic Emergency Braking, and Front Pedestrian Braking systems. If the Forward Collision Alert detects a potential collision with an obstacle ahead, it will sound an alert and activate the braking systems in order to help prevent or minimize an impact. Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning will let you know if you are drifting out of your lane and can steer you back on the right path to prevent side-swiping. Finally, the IntelliBeam High Beam Assist will turn your high beams on and off depending on light and traffic conditions.

What Makes Each Trim Special
We’ve looked at the standard safety features and the engines you can choose from, but there is more to picking a trim than that. Let’s take a look at what each trim has to offer, starting with the most expensive and working down to the base model, so you can narrow down your potential selection.
High Country
The stylish High Country boasts premium leather seating along with an exclusive perforation and stitching pattern for a luxurious feeling cabin. It also has stunning authentic open-pore wood trim that adds to its sophisticated look. You’ll also have the large 13.4-inch infotainment display standard. In the capability department, it has available Super Cruise with trailering. This means that Chevy’s hands-free driving technology will work even while you are trailering with your pickup. It also has an advanced trailering camera system with eight cameras and up to 14 views.
ZR2
The newest member of the trim lineup, the ZR2, is your ideal off-roader. It has a cut front bumper, large underbody aluminum skid plates, 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory Mud Terrain tires, Multimatic DSSV dampers, and Elockers, so it’s ready to climb over obstacles and tackle uneven terrain. This model also has a touch of luxury with the standard 13.4-inch infotainment display and 12.3-inch driver display.
LTZ
The LTZ is beautiful on the inside, with highly capable features throughout. It has perforated leather-appointed front seating on the interior and 20-inch polished aluminum wheels on the exterior. Plus, it enjoys an advanced trailer camera system that you can see on the larger infotainment screen, so you always know what’s happening around your trailer.
LT Trail Boss
The LT Trail Boss competes with the ZR2 for the best off-roader in this lineup, though it is a little more basic than the ZR2 for those with a tighter budget. It has a two-inch factory suspension lift and the Z71 Off-Road Package. This trim is equipped with an Autotrac 2-speed transfer case, automatic locking rear differential, and 18-inch high-gloss Black-painted wheels with Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac Mud Terrain tires.
RST
The RST is where you start to see more versatility as you get a 40/20/40 split-bench seat with a ten-way power driver seat. This makes it comfortable for the driver during long trips and makes it easy to customize the backseat area to either accommodate the maximum number of passengers or utilize the storage space to its fullest. On the outside of this trim, you’ll see a body-color center grille bar, bumpers, and door handles for a sleek appearance. You can also get available 20-inch high-gloss black wheels.
LT
The LT has the same 40/20/40 split-bench seat and 10-way power driver seat that the RST enjoys. But, it has available two-inch painted-aluminum wheels with machined faces and Grazen-painted pockets instead of high-gloss black. This trim gets LED reflector headlamps, along with signature daytime running lamps, for improved visibility in a number of conditions.
Custom Trail Boss
The Custom Trail Boss is also suitable for off-roading, but again not as equipped as the upper trim levels. It has a two-inch factory suspension lift and the Z71 Off-Road Package. Here you’ll see 18-inch high-gloss Black-painted wheels with Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac Mud Terrain tires. What really sets this trim apart is the raised hood and the styled black insert for a bold style.
Custom
The Custom is going to get eye-catching 20-inch bright silver painted aluminum wheels, but it’s not just stylish. It also has a trailering package, a remote vehicle starter system, an EZ lift power lock, and a release tailgate, making it versatile and ideal for DIYers and adventurers. Along with the ten-way power driver seat, this trim gets lumbar control, and its 40/20/40 split-bench front seat has covered armrest storage and under-seat storage.
WT
The WT is the stripped-down workhorse of the trim group. It has a durabed featuring unbeatable cargo volume and 12 standard tie downs, perfect for hauling large items. This trim gets a push-button start feature and remote keyless entry. Plus, it has a CornerStep rear bumper (built-in steps at the corners of the back bumper) for easy access to the bed. This truck is a worker’s best friend.

A Silverado 1500 for Everyone
At first glance, the Silverado 1500 lineup might look rather similar from trim to trim. However, once you dive into each option, you see that every trim was designed with a very specific driver in mind. Some trims are clearly for someone who leaves paved roads and beaten paths for roads less traveled and rough surfaces. Others cater to those who like the finer things with upscale interior materials.
Chevy also thought of long-haul drivers who need to remain comfortable so they can arrive at their site ready to work. That’s why you see some features like lumbar support or ten-way power seats throughout the lineup. For those who like to make a splash, there are several eye-catching wheel options, from painted aluminum to bold black. Every pickup driver, from the hard hat-wearing kind to the kid’s carpool kind, can find something in this dynamic lineup.

Bexar County is a terrific place to live if you want to give your family the benefits of big-city living while enjoying the pleasures of a small town. But getting around the crowded streets of San Antonio, which is known for having the fifth worst traffic in the state, requires a flexible vehicle. Even going through the less populated suburbs like Helotes, which started out as a small farming community before becoming a rapidly growing, close-knit community of people seeking superior living with small-town charm, can be a chore.
