Front view of a 2024 Silverado 1500.

Automakers always pick interesting names for their vehicles. Some are inspired by animals, others by ships or planes; a number of brands just use random letters or numbers, while others just make up words, kind of like a Dr. Seuss or Roald Dahl book. Meanwhile, Chevrolet seems to take inspiration from movies. The “Silverado” started as a trim level on Chevy’s C/K truck, but it was also the name of a popular 1985 Western starring Kevin Costner. So, it’s no surprise that the top trim on the 2024 Silverado 1500 is the High Country, which seems to have been inspired in part by Ride the High Country, a popular western from the early 1960s starring Randolph Scott and Joel McCrea.

You’ll probably feel like you’re starring in your own modern western when you roll out of North Park Chevrolet—your dedicated Chevy Silverado 1500 dealer—behind the wheel of a brand new 2024 High Country; this is because the High Country combines the performance and capability you want in a truck with the comfort and convenience features you desire from a modern vehicle. At North Park Chevrolet, we are proud to offer the entire Chevy lineup, so come by today and let our team show you why your next truck should be a 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 High Country.

Powerful Powertrains

One thing that helps set the Silverado 1500 High Country apart from other top trims on full-size trucks is its powertrain. Chevy literally puts you in the driver’s seat when designing the performance of your truck, and the 2024 Silverado 1500 High Country features a 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V8 with a ten-speed automatic transmission, able to produce up to 355 hp at 5600 RPM and 383 lb-ft of torque at 4100 RPM, which makes this truck able to tow up to 11,300 lbs or haul 2,180 lbs.

If you want to boost the performance of your High Country, Chevy gives you a choice of two other powertrains. The 6.2-liter EcoTec3 V8 comes with a ten-speed automatic transmission and is available only on models with four-wheel drive; it delivers a staggering 420 hp at 5600 RPM and 460 lb-ft of torque at 4100 RPM. When you equip your Silverado 1500 with this engine, you increase your capability to 13,300 lbs of trailering and 1,980 lbs of payload.

The other optional engine is a 3.0-liter Duramax Turbo-Diesel I-6 paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission, and it can deliver up to 305 hp at 3750 RPM and 495 lb-ft of torque at 1500 RPM. That is the most torque available on any 2024 Silverado 1500. As a result, if you choose this engine for your High Country, you can tow up to 13,300 lbs and carry up to 1,970 lbs of cargo.

Ride in Style

The High Country is the epitome of form and function working together. Not only does the exterior look stylish, but it also helps your Silverado 1500 to deliver improved performance and capability. For example, the High Country rides on a set of 20-inch machined aluminum wheels fitted with 20-inch all-terrain tires; these look sporty while giving you the grip you need if you decide to take your High Country off-road.

Other exterior features work in a similar fashion. The High Country features six-inch chrome rectangular wheel-to-wheel assist steps, which make it easier for you and your passengers to get in and out of your truck. These are power-retractable to protect them while your truck is in motion.

The front and rear bumpers are given the same body color as the truck, as are the mirror caps, which gives the High Country a cohesive look. The driver’s side mirror is heated and has an auto-dimming feature to reduce glare from other vehicles’ headlights. These mirrors are also power-folding, so they won’t get damaged when you leave your Silverado 1500 High Country in a busy parking lot.

Even though this trim has many luxury features, Chevy hasn’t forgotten why you want a truck instead of a sedan or SUV—and this is proven by the standard features on the High Country’s payload bed. The Chevytec spray-on bedliner provides a non-skid surface that protects the payload bed with a watertight seal, while its surface reduces the risk of your cargo shifting while you’re driving.

Accessing the payload bed is also easier with the standard Power Up and Down Tailgate, which opens and closes with the touch of the High Country’s key fob. The Multi-Flex tailgate—with its six unique functions—is an amazing option available for the 2024 Silverado 1500 High Country.

The Lap of Luxury

While the outside of the High Country is rugged and tough, the interior provides unequaled comfort and convenience. When you open the doors to the standard crew cab on the High Country, you are greeted by an interior that has authentic open-pore wood trimming—not the plastic or wood decals you see on other trucks. This is actual wood trimming fitted to the interior, giving a beautiful counterpoint to the carpeted floor coverings and the premium leather seats.

In front are a pair of bucket seats, while the up-level rear seat has room for three more passengers and under-seat storage space. The premium leather seats boast custom perforations and a unique stitching pattern—and they are as comfortable as they look.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel, front seats, and rear outboard seats are all heated. These will come in handy on cold mornings. The driver and front passenger seats are also ventilated, providing three different fan settings operated via the truck’s climate control panel. This ventilation is designed to increase comfort on warm days.

Chevy has equipped the 2024 Silverado 1500 High Country with the latest technology. The Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Premium System features a 13.4-inch touchscreen and includes Google built-in, which allows you to easily access Google’s familiar tools. You can easily pair your smartphone to the infotainment system using Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto—all of which are wireless, so you don’t have to worry if you left your charging cables at home. Connecting your phone allows you to make hands-free calls and texts, access your favorite apps, and stream your favorite music.

The High Country features a Bose Premium Sound System that strategically places seven speakers throughout the crew cab and includes a Richbass woofer. Whether you are listening to the radio, streaming music from your smartphone, or tuning into programming on SiriusXM, you will have no problem providing a soundtrack for your next trip.

This truck also helps you and your passengers stay connected. It features Wi-Fi hotspot capability, as well as a wireless charging pad in the center console. The High Country also has six USB charging ports: a pair on the front instrument panel, another on the center console, and a final pair in the rear console.

The large screen on the infotainment system also comes in handy for other purposes. There are up to eight cameras on the High Country, which afford you up to 14 different views around the truck; this includes a Bed View Camera inside the payload bed, HD Surround Vision to see the areas around your truck, and Hitch View to help line up your hitch to your trailer. The Rear Trailer View and Transparent Trailer are available as well. These make it safer and easier to drive when you are towing a large trailer that may obstruct your view.

Ascend to the High Country

If you are looking for a truck that truly has it all, then the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 High Country is the one for you. Its crew cab design and countless standard comfort and convenience features make it ideal for use as a family vehicle. At the same time, its power and capability allow you to use your High Country for towing and hauling, which can come in handy for some of your toughest jobs. This is why—if you want the best of both worlds—you should head to North Park Chevrolet for a 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 High Country!
