Ready to start browsing our inventories of new and used Chevy SUVs? Before you do, here are some things you should know about these models that could assist you in making your final decision on what to buy.

The Suburban and Tahoe

The Chevy Suburban and Chevy Tahoe are this automaker's two largest SUVs. These vehicles are both practical choices for those needing a capable family hauler with an abundance of available cargo space—and while the Tahoe is indeed a sizable vehicle, the Suburban is even bigger!

It measures slightly longer and wider than the Tahoe, which means you get a little more people and cargo space. The Tahoe, however, has a higher towing capacity, which might make it ideal for those needing to do a lot of towing. And, since it slots below the Suburban, the Tahoe is cheaper in price. When it comes to pricing against their competition, these two are considerably more affordable options.

Both SUVs are powered by a standard V8 engine that comes with Dynamic Fuel Management technology, or you can opt for a higher-powered V8 or a turbo-diesel engine on either vehicle. There are quite a few trim levels on both the Tahoe and Suburban, so you will find different configurations available when searching for new or used Chevy SUVs.

These vehicles have the option of equipping an adaptive air suspension system, which outfits the vehicle with electronically-controlled air springs that make the ride quality even smoother than normal. The stiffness of the suspension can be adjusted—as can the pressure—to change the ride comfort. If you need to boost ground clearance or make it easier for passengers to enter and exit the vehicle, the ride height can also be raised or lowered.

You can find plenty of infotainment features available in the Tahoe or Suburban. Chevy's infotainment system is user-friendly and requires only a short learning curve. You can use it to access all kinds of entertainment functions, and you can pair your smartphone with your vehicle through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. There are plenty of ways to plug in and connect, including multiple 120-volt power outlets and USB ports in all three rows of seats. Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity can help you stay connected on the go as well.

The Chevy Blazer

Perhaps the Tahoe and Suburban are a little too large for you. That's okay because Chevy has a solution: the Blazer. Considered one of the trendiest SUVs in its segment, the Blazer can comfortably seat up to five people; on top of that, it leaves you with plenty of cargo space to work with. You can load up a full set of luggage or several bags of golf clubs without folding down the second row of seats. When you need more cargo space, you can slide the 60/40-split folding rear seats up to make room.

All-wheel drive is available on the Blazer, which is a nice alternative to front-wheel drive if you plan on doing some moderate off-roading. The Driver Mode Selector comes in handy since it allows you to merely turn the dial to adjust your vehicle's performance capabilities.

You also get a good amount of standard trailering equipment. The base V6 engine comes with a heavy-duty cooling system and has a higher towing capacity than the optional turbo engine. A seven-pin harness is a standard issue, as is Trailer Sway Control. You can get newer models with Hitch Guidance or Hitch Guidance with Hitch View, the latter of which is standard on higher trim levels; this feature gives you a close-up view of the Blazer's trailer hitch as you reverse to connect.

The Chevy Equinox

In need of an SUV that offers a lot of athleticism for a reasonable price? The Chevy Equinox might just be the vehicle for you. Sure, this is a small SUV, but its cabin feels exponentially more spacious than you might think just from looking at it. The four-cylinder engine packs plenty of power for this vehicle, and all-wheel drive is standard, so you can take the Equinox off the beaten path if you wish to do some off-roading.

The cabin remains quiet and peaceful at any speed; transmission noise is restricted from entering the cabin thanks to the performance brake linings. These also enhance dust performance for the Equinox. Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) dampens vibrations and prevents them from getting into the cabin. The Equinox itself absorbs and blocks noise from making its way in; microphones built into the cabin detect undesirable noise from outside and counteract to eliminate it.

Plenty of standard advanced driver assistance tools round out the Equinox, helping to make your daily commute even safer. Your vehicle can detect potential crashes and alert you while making minor corrections to the vehicle's steering and braking. All in all, the Equinox is rich in high-tech safety features that can help you out when you need it most.

The Chevy Trailblazer

Slightly smaller than the Equinox but full of personality is the Chevy Trailblazer. This eye-catching little SUV comes in a number of styles, including black or white painted roofs and an available power panoramic sunroof. Most trim levels come with side rails mounted onto the roof. Splash guards are available for the front and rear of the Trailblazer, plus you can opt for a hands-free power programmable liftgate with LED logo projection built into it.

This programmable liftgate will prove itself indispensable when you need to load cargo, and the abundance of available rear space may come as much as a surprise as it does relief. There is also a two-level load floor that provides you with some extra space and, therefore, a bit more in the way of utility. You can adapt this cargo storage system to fit and conceal those items you're extra prudent about securing. When all seats are upright, the Trailblazer comfortably seats five occupants in its two rows; the second row of seats folds down flat, as can the front passenger seat.

As is the case with all Chevy SUVs, the Trailblazer makes it easy for you to connect while you are on the go. Smartphone app integration is included across the lineup, and some newer models have wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto—features that help to eliminate cord clutter. Wireless device charging docks are available on certain models as part of a package; these would let you power up your Qi-compatible wireless device without a charging cord. Also, many newer models let you use the myChevrolet Mobile App to utilize vehicular diagnostics and remote functions when you opt for a plan.

The Chevy Trax

Small but mighty, the Chevy Trax is the smallest SUV in the lineup. It might look pint-sized from the outside, but ease your way into the cabin and experience its spacious design for yourself. Since its debut in 2015, the Trax has gained traction among buyers in the subcompact SUV segment. Its standard engine delivers enough power to get you going on the highway, and all-wheel drive is available, so if you want something that gives you more traction and stability, AWD is the way to go. (This will give you rear disc brakes instead of the standard drum brakes.)

You get to choose between a few trim levels with different features. A 60/40-split folding rear seat is a standard issue, and it can fold down flat to help you maximize your cargo space. A handy retractable cover comes equipped to conceal your precious cargo, keeping it from prying eyes.

The Trax is a sporty little number that is certainly fun to drive, and there are a lot of creature comforts inside that make it enjoyable to cruise around in. From its Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity to the slew of available advanced driver assistance tools, the Trax offers a good amount of features to keep you feeling cozy, entertained, and safe.
