Brand-new trucks are amazing options that provide incredible power and performance, plus the peace of mind that comes with knowing you are the first owner of that vehicle. For a lot of people, however, a new vehicle is simply not practical, which is when a pre-owned or used model is the perfect choice. Adventurous Midsize Trucks

The American truck market tends to focus a lot on full-size trucks, which is understandable considering how many people count on them every day, but they are not your only option. If you are looking for a great pickup that can handle a lot of work without being too large, then a midsize truck could be your best choice. These are among the most impressive machines out there for going off-road, and they still deliver fantastic towing and payload capacities.

The right truck for you typically depends on what you need from your truck; if you are unsure of your requirements, then we are here to help you figure it out. For our customers who need to handle some towing but nothing near 10,000 lbs, a midsize pickup is a terrific choice. Something like the Chevy Colorado, for example, is an amazing midsize choice that can still handle up to 7,700 lbs of towing if you find the right model and package options. These are great pickups for a moderate amount of use; they still work hard and are incredibly rugged, but you will not find massive towing capacities on them.

A midsize truck is also a terrific option if you are looking for something to take off-road. While plenty of full-size pickups also have incredible off-road options, many people prefer the smaller size of a midsize model. These trucks are easier to navigate in tight spaces since they are a bit smaller but still have excellent ground clearance and power for tackling a difficult trail. Popular midsize models include the Colorado, as well as the Ford Ranger, Nissan Frontier, GMC Canyon, and the Toyota Tacoma.

Fantastic Full-Size Trucks

If you need a workhorse of a truck that you can rely on day-in and day-out to always be there and help you get your job done, then a full-size option is a great choice. For a lot of people, a full-size model is the definitive truck that delivers the kind of towing and payload capacities that you need for getting your job done. While heavy-duty options can deliver even greater capability, most of our customers get everything they need from a full-size model.

In decades past, a truck like this was usually a pretty barebones option that lacked much in the way of tech features or sophistication. Those days are long gone, however, and modern full-size trucks have incredible options for comfort, luxury, and technology that makes it easy to stay connected while you get your job done. When looking at used models, especially options from recent years, you will find excellent features on them that go well beyond what you might expect. These trucks are also offered with numerous cab sizes and bed lengths, so you can find the configuration that fits your life and gives you all the space you need.

Although towing and payload capacities can vary from one model to another, most full-size trucks these days have options to handle 10,000 lbs of towing or more. The Chevy Silverado 1500, for example, has had models with more than 13,000 lbs of maximum towing available for many years now. Other popular options include the Ford F-150, Ram 1500, Nissan Titan, GMC Sierra 1500, and the Toyota Tundra – all of these models are fantastic pre-owned options that can handle a ton (or many tons) of work.

Impressive Heavy-Duty Trucks

While a full-size truck like the Chevy Silverado 1500 is plenty of truck for the majority of people, if you need something that can handle even more work, then you should consider a heavy-duty option. These models deliver unbeatable levels of payload and towing capacity, with powerful engines capable of handling anything you throw at them. These are all full-size trucks, so they have plenty of cargo capacity, and some include options for dual-rear-wheel (DRW) configurations that boost fifth-wheel towing to incredible levels.

You can find a number of heavy-duty models available, such as the Chevy Silverado 2500 HD and 3500 HD. Something like the Silverado 2500 HD can have more than 18,000 lbs of towing capacity available, while a DRW Silverado 3500 HD can give you more than 35,000 lbs of fifth-wheel towing capability. Other popular heavy-duty trucks include the Ford F-250 and F-350, the Ram 2500 and Ram 3500, the Nissan Titan XD, and the GMC Sierra 2500 HD and 3500 HD models.
