Age Is Just a Number! Our List of the Most Reliable Older Cars

Considering a used car for your journey? Among the obvious options from top brands like Chevy, Honda, Toyota, and others, you’ll find that not every reliable used car is one that’s recent. If you’re searching for used cars for sale, North Park Chevrolet has a selection of quality pre-owned vehicles spanning many years, including older models. We know that our drivers are looking for vehicles that they can count on to provide them with a safe and efficient ride, so which older cars are the most reliable? We’ve put together a list of our favorite older used cars containing familiar favorites that are still on the road today, as well as legends of the past that you won’t want to ignore if you do happen to stumble across one. 1. Honda Civic The Honda Civic has been one of the automaker’s best-selling models for decades. Its bold styling and fantastic driving dynamics make it easy to see why so many drivers are captivated by this compact sedan. The energetic vibes that emanate from this charged-up machine deliver the ride you want, even if you’re just heading into work for the day. Since 1973, we’ve been admiring the Civic on roadways across the nation. From exceptional fuel efficiency to compelling style inside and out, the Civic is a head-turner from every angle. Add all of this to Honda’s incredible reputation for reliability, and you’ve got a car that has everything going for it. 2. Mazda MX-5 Miata This stylish convertible has been drawing a crowd since its debut in the late-'80s, and when it comes to one-of-a-kind looks, you’ll find them within this spirited traveler. Inspiring curves and sculpted details allow the MX-5 Miata to capture your attention almost as soon as you lay your eyes on it. As with any Mazda model, you’ll find that its affordable price tag allows you to bring a higher level of excitement and beauty into your travels without breaking the bank, which is what the brand is known for in the industry. It's fun to drive, comfortable, and it’s regarded as having some of the best reliability ratings in the business. 3. Toyota Camry Another sedan that has been on the scene for decades is the midsize Toyota Camry. Since 1983, the Camry has been dutifully hauling its passengers everywhere they need to go, armed with a spacious cabin, ample trunk space, and impeccable safety and reliability ratings. Since this car has been around for so many years, you have an impressive variety of models, powertrains, features, and more to choose from, making it easy to find the Camry that’s best suited for your lifestyle. From boxy designs of the past to polished curves and modern details in newer models, the Camry is a true trendsetter in the industry. 4. Chevy Impala Recognized as one of Chevrolet’s most iconic nameplates ever produced, the Impala has paved the way for vehicles of the future in more ways than one. Arriving on the scene in 1956, the Impala quickly stood out with its large, sculpted design, adorned with a prominent front end and a sporty yet luxurious feel to it. As designs evolved, so did the Impala, which sported intense fenders, cat-eye headlamps, and sweeping fins as it crested into the '60s. As the years went on, the Impala showcased many distinct designs, with models in the 2000s sporting a more modern, everyday look to them. The Impala has impacted the industry with show-stopping style, high-performance energy, and a reputation for dependability that makes it one of the most legendary cars in the world. 5. Lexus LS400 If you desire more luxury in your travels, the LS400 may just be the right choice for you. This full-size sedan is recognized as being one of the most reliable around, with a sturdy build and top-quality engineering designed with longevity in mind. The LS400 has gained a lot of respect in the industry since it arrived on the scene in 1990 due to its high-end design, but that’s not all. It’s been reported that the LS400 is exceptionally durable, with low repair costs and legions of loyal fans to back up this reputation. Five-star reliability scores, luxury appeal, and easy upkeep? It’s a winner on all fronts! 6. Plymouth Valiant From 1959 until 1976, the Plymouth Valiant could be seen whisking its occupants off to all of their destinations in style. Offered in a broad spectrum of colors and a myriad of design options, the Valiant easily appealed to drivers of the time. In addition, it quickly became known for its dependability with its sturdy build, engaging engine, and simplistic features that made it alluring and affordable to the masses. If you’re looking for a true old-school icon that just keeps on running, the Valiant is it. 7. Chevy Corvette There’s perhaps no other car in the world that’s as instantly recognizable as the Chevy Corvette. Its sloped, aerodynamic features and killer performance have quickly catapulted it to the top of the food chain when it comes to performance cars ever since its arrival in the industry in 1953. The ’69 Corvette Stingray is one of the automaker’s best (and most reliable) machines, with a durable build and high-performing engine. In addition, the Corvette isn’t particularly off the charts when it comes to its sticker price, which adds even more appeal to this fast-paced sports car, especially for the average everyday driver. 8. Jeep Cherokee Jeep vehicles have been on the scene since the 1940s, with one of its most famous models debuting in 1984. The Jeep Cherokee was the very first unibody SUV to hit the mass market, allowing it to handle more like a car instead of a hulking SUV with a body-on-frame build. The Cherokee wasn’t just the first of its kind as far as its build; it was also impressive with the way it handled off-road, as well as how it performed in towing and hauling duties. You’ll find a superb selection of Cherokee models on used lots across the country, and with Jeep reliability coursing through this particular model, you can’t go wrong, no matter which year you choose. 9. Saab 900 You’ve probably noticed the quirky Saab 900 rolling around town at one point in time. Making its grand entrance for the 1979 model year, the Saab 900 was a far cry from the other products this manufacturer happened to make, such as WWII fighter planes. Regardless of the brand’s lack of experience in the auto industry, it managed to make one of the most reliable cars around. The Saab 900 wasn’t just fun to drive with a quick accelerating powertrain; it was also practical, spacious, and durable. It continues to stand the test of time today, with many still on the road, providing their occupants with a safe and dependable experience. 10. Toyota Land Cruiser Hitting the streets in 1957, the Toyota Land Cruiser instantly captured the attention of many drivers with its utilitarian build and adventurous presence. A true military truck-inspired SUV, the Land Cruiser could venture where other vehicles couldn’t, with a level of durability and agility on any terrain that couldn’t be matched. This tough-as-nails build is enough to earn its spot on our list of most reliable older vehicles. No matter which model you choose, you’ll be able to take advantage of a spirited ride, legendary off-road capabilities, and an intimidating presence that commands your attention. Old Doesn't Mean Unusable So, there you have it—age is only a number, and these vehicles prove this with their reputation and longevity in the industry. Whether you’re cruising down city streets or rumbling down gritty trails, don’t count older cars out of the equation. They’re perhaps made even better than new options, with high-quality parts and durability built to last. So, if you want to enjoy one of the best rides imaginable, consider getting behind the wheel of an older used vehicle. You may just find that all things really do get better with age.

For those seeking exceptional value, it’s hard to beat the deals you’ll find at your local used truck dealership. Built with heavy-duty usage in mind, trucks are better able to withstand the wear and tear that comes with everyday use. While most drivers plan on their vehicles lasting until the 200,000-mile mark, the reality is often quite different. According to a study by iSeeCars, as few as one percent of all new vehicles sold in the US hit that milestone, but pickups tend to fare much better. In fact, they’re almost twice as likely to see the odometer hit 200,000, with 1.9 percent achieving the feat. Pickup trucks also fare much better when it comes to depreciation. There are lots of factors that contribute to a vehicle’s depreciation. From mileage and model to a brand’s reputation, fuel economy, and even local market conditions, it can be hard to know how a vehicle’s value might change over time, but not all vehicles are created equal. While all vehicles start to lose some value as soon as they’re first driven off the dealer’s lot, pickups tend to resist depreciation better than most, thanks in part to their robust construction, reliability, and popularity on the used market. When it comes to Chevrolet, it’s the full-size Silverado series that usually grabs all the headlines, but today we’re going to take a closer look at the brand’s popular midsize offering, the Chevy Colorado. The perfect blend of performance, capability, and comfort, the Colorado is an alluring prospect for drivers looking for a reliable midsize truck. Best of all, midsize offerings like the Colorado tend to retain their value even better than many full-size offerings. Research shows that midsize pickups have a five-year depreciation of just over 21 percent, besting full-size rivals but as much as 10 percent. As the new model makes its debut for the 2023 model year, we thought it would be a good time to look back on some of the best used Colorado models in recent memory and see what makes Chevy’s midsize pickup such a standout option on the used market. The 2016 LT Shoreline Edition The Southern California market has long been a hotbed for pickups like the Chevy Colorado, with more midsize trucks sold in Los Angeles than the next two largest markets combined. Midsize trucks are particularly popular amongst younger West Coast drivers who, more often than not, can be found making tracks for the beach for long, sunny days full of sun, surf, and sandy fun. Designed to appeal to this market, the 2016 Colorado LT Shoreline Edition aims to fill the role vacated by the “Woodie” station wagons of old, providing beachgoers with the perfect truck for all their seaside needs. Based on the LT trim of the 2016 Colorado model, the Shoreline Edition is more than just a beach-focused makeover for the truck: it adds some real utility to the equation, not to mention a little fun. The 2016 Chevy Colorado Shoreline Edition allows drivers to choose between four bright, beachy color options, including Silver Ice Metallic, Summit White, Laser Blue, and Red Hot, with blacked-out trim and chrome accents that go a long way in complementing the new hues. Unlike the regular LT version of the Colorado, the Shoreline Edition features a body-color grille, black 18-inch wheels, and black trim adorning the doors, beltline, and mirrors. As far as utility is concerned, Chevy has included spray-in bed liners and all-weather floor mats as standard features on the Shoreline Edition. It’s a valuable addition to ridding the Colorado of the evidence of your shoreside excursions, making it easier than ever to clean out sand, water, and whatever else you might try to tag along home with you. The Shoreline Edition truly shines with the long list of available accessories that upgrade the truck’s utility with the addition of GEARON tiered storage racks, a five-inch rectangular assist step, and a Thule surfboard or stand up paddleboard carrier. These optional features allow drivers to bring along everything they need for a full day at the beach while making the Colorado look like it just drove off the set of Baywatch. Chevy knows that every day at the beach needs the perfect soundtrack, which is why the automaker has included one year of SiriusXM radio with the Shoreline Edition. The 2017 ZR2 The 2017 model year saw the debut of one of the most exciting Colorado models in recent memory: the ZR2. Built with off-road glory in mind, this rugged version of Chevy’s midsize pickup was loaded with all the heavy-duty equipment needed to fill your weekends with mud-slinging, rock-crawling fun. The ZR2 concept was first introduced at the 2014 LA Auto Show, and a strong consumer response saw the off-road model make its retail debut a few years later. The ZR2 hit the market just as the off-road pickup wars started to heat up. Models like the Ford F-150 Raptor started to change the public’s perception of just how capable an off-the-shelf version of an off-road pickup could be, and Chevy wasn’t about to be left behind. The ZR2 was introduced as an even more off-road-ready version of the Colorado’s top trim, the Z71, but added an all-new design and off-road-ready components to the mix. Chevy both lifted and widened the Colorado for the ZR2 version, installing a track that was 3.5 inches wider while elevating the pickup by two inches. Top-shelf hardware like Multimatic Dynamic Suspension Spool Valve (DSSV) dampers, electronic locking front and rear differentials, and lengthened cast-iron control arms smooth out the bumps that come with off-roading while ensuring maximum traction, but that’s just the beginning. Chevy also included new front and rear bumpers specifically designed for the Colorado that improve the truck’s approach and departure angles, two important factors when it comes to off-roading, while also throwing in wider fender flares, rock sliders, and aluminum skid plates for good measure. The ZR2 rides on 31-inch Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires and offers an off-road mode that allows drivers to tweak the pickup’s throttle progression, shift calibration, traction control, stability control, and ABS depending on the terrain. The 2018 Centennial Edition For many drivers, midsize pickups like the Chevy Colorado provide the perfect compromise between the functionality of a full-size truck and the comfort and efficiency of the increasingly popular crossover SUV class. The Chevy Colorado is a prime example of this well-rounded middle ground, boasting considerable towing and cargo capacity while featuring all the high-end bells and whistles that can make so much of a difference in the overall driving experience. The 2018 Colorado encompasses this balance perfectly, blending a wealth of engine options with emerging infotainment tech to create a pickup that’s just as much at home at the job site as it is in the school pickup line. The base engine is an economical 2.5-liter inline-four that excels in fuel efficiency with an EPA-rated 24 MPG in the city and 31 MPG highway in its 2WD automatic guise. It’s not likely to win you any drag races with around 200 hp, but those seeking a little extra power can opt for a 3.6-liter V6 that ups the ponies by more than 100 to deliver 308 total hp. If towing is your aim, Chevy is here to help with a 2.8-liter Duramax turbo-diesel that churns out an impressive 369 lb-ft of torque. The diesel setup was a rarity in the midsize class at the time and gave the Duramax version of the Colorado enough power to tow a class-leading 7,700 lbs of whatever you could throw at it. Chevy also added a clever bit of tech to make towing easier than ever with the advent of the pickup’s Active Tow feature. The system helps drivers to align the Colorado when reversing to hook up a trailer, taking the frustrating guesswork out of this notoriously tricky task. As we mentioned, midsize pickups are all about balance, and the Colorado pairs its range of capable engines with a full complement of impressive tech. Connected infotainment features like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth connectivity arrived in 2017, but the Colorado also set itself apart thanks to the inclusion of two separate touchscreens and the segment’s only Wi-Fi hotspot. The Centennial Edition was the standout trim for 2018, celebrating Chevy’s 100th anniversary with a generous package for the Z71 trim that included a bold color-keyed grille and rear bumper, spray-in bed liner, distinctive badging, 18-inch wheels, plenty of chrome accents, and more. The Centennial version of the Colorado is easily recognizable thanks to its exclusive paint colors, which include new offerings like Satin Steel Gray Metallic, Kinetic Blue, and Centennial Blue. It’s a great tribute to the brand’s considerable history and pairs well with the high-end, off-road-flavored trim. A Closer Look at the Exciting 2023 Chevy Camaro

Since the mid-1960s, the muscle car has been a popular choice in North America. While the Ford Mustang came first, it was the Chevrolet Camaro that gave Ford a run for its money. Even today, they are in close competition with one another; wherever you see a Chevrolet Camaro dealer showing off its iconic model, you'll probably see a Ford dealership nearby doing the same. The Camaro has earned its household name status, not just for its beefy engine but also because of its performance on and off the track, with each generation contributing to the evolution of the automotive industry. Six generations later, Camaro is still as popular as ever, whether its drivers are on the racetrack, flying down Route 66, or headed toward downtown for a night of fun. While some muscle cars are better in a specific arena, the Camaro has overcome quite a few obstacles to remain at the top of the food chain in all areas. In 2023, Camaro and Mustang will say goodbye to the Dodge Challenger and Charger, both discontinued at the end of 2023, which means less competition. So, does the 2023 Chevrolet Camaro live up to the hype? How does this latest model measure up against its elders? Exceptional Engine Options One of the best features of the Camaro is the engine; whether you're interested in the four-cylinder, V6, or V8, you will be rewarded with a powerful, controlled, and fun partner on the road. The four-cylinder 2.0L engine produces 275 hp, while the 3.6L V6 boasts 335 hp, and the 6.2L V8 can reach up to 455 hp. And for those looking to take performance to another level, consider the 6.2L Supercharged V8, which provides a whopping 650 hp for a ride that is simply unparalleled. Loud noise obviously comes with the territory, and each engine sounds a bit different, though they all make that classic thunderous startup, especially if you elect to get the dual-mode exhaust option. Even if you decide to forego the dual-mode exhaust, you'll still be able to hear the growl of the engine as you floor it and leave everyone behind in your dust. With such a powerful engine, you'll feel like you're flying. Get behind the wheel and leave the rest behind. You'll also have a choice between a six-speed manual, eight-speed automatic, or ten-speed automatic transmission, based on which model you go with and whether or not you've selected specific additional packages. Performance Enhanced by Design One of the things that makes the Chevrolet Camaro unique is that it has a chassis that allows for a connection unrivaled by any of its competitors. This connection gives the driver the ability to feel every little change, and to adjust accordingly, which makes for a smooth and steady ride, no matter if you're turning multiple corners, encountering inclement weather, or you come across a rough patch of road. This feature, plus the electrically assisted power-steering, ensures that you'll remember why you love this vehicle every time you drive. You can also choose between brakes, depending on the trim level. The main set of brakes is responsive, easing any worries about not being able to stop fast enough. If you're looking for something designed for faster speeds, you'll want to see about getting the Brembo brakes. While performance isn't quite everything, it does have a lot to do with how much you enjoy driving, what kind of driving you'll be doing, and how quick you are to learn the particulars of your specific Chevy Camaro. Whatever you decide on, know that you'll have the time of your life enjoying your new car and all its high-performance parts. The Innovative Magnetic Ride Control Feature While the 2023 Chevrolet Camaro did not undergo many changes, there are definitely notable highlights of the Camaro, no matter what model year. Perhaps the most unique offering of the Camaro is the Magnetic Ride Control. Here again, the Chevrolet Camaro is set apart from its competitors, as this technology is relatively new. There are other vehicles that use it, but the Camaro utilizes this non-mechanical system to provide Camaro drivers with the fastest adaptive suspension system in the automotive industry. Having such a sensitive suspension system means that you can shift almost immediately as things change outside the vehicle. You can also keep this system up and running for a long time as there is nothing mechanical or electrical about it, which means fewer bills for you, plus a more sophisticated suspension system than most people have experienced. You'll have a smooth ride, even if the tires go over something small, because your Camaro will immediately shift the shock absorbers, and you'll continue to enjoy a smooth ride. The magnetic ride control does not require many pieces, and since it does not rely on mechanical or electrical systems, it won't have to be repaired as often, saving you quite a bit of money in the long run. Additional Tech and Safety Features Another highlight of the Chevrolet Camaro is all the goodies inside; the infotainment center and all its trappings are sure to please the pickiest techno-driver, from its touchscreen to the Apple CarPlay or Android Auto capability, optional Alexa add-on, available wireless charging station, safety features, and the optional MyChevrolet app with remote technology. With so many things standard and plenty of available features to choose from, it's an array of helpful technology no matter what configuration you decide on. The Chevrolet Infotainment 3 software is preloaded on an 8-inch touchscreen, making for easy navigation and simple switching between radio, phone, and navigation. It erases the need for a USB port to connect your phone or tablet. You've also got a Wi-Fi hotspot that comes standard, as well as the suite of safety features: complimentary 3-year remote access for use with the MyChevrolet app, IntelliBeam auto high beam assist, a LATCH system, rear vision camera, StabiliTrak traction control, Teen Driver technology, a tire fill alert, and tire pressure monitoring system, and a trunk emergency release handle. With so many tools at your disposal, you'll be able to drive confidently and rest easy knowing that you and your Camaro can navigate easily through traffic, inclement weather and that long road trip you've been meaning to take. Experience the 2023 Chevy Camaro for Yourself Chevrolet's Camaro continues to impress and ranks highly among its competitors, even outliving some of them. Thanks to Chevrolet's commitment to continually improving their vehicles, the Camaro is always fresh, up-to-date, and exciting for everyone who steps behind the wheel, even if they've driven previous Camaro models and think they know what to expect. With high praise from every corner of the automotive world, from fans and experts alike, it's no wonder the Camaro keeps popping up at the top of everyone's favorite end-of-year lists. Though there might not be a brand-new model arriving in 2024, the current Camaro is full of high-performance machinery and brand-new tech that join together in a package that will thrill any driver. Whether you've had a Camaro before and are looking to recreate those great memories, or you've always wanted to get behind the wheel and see what all the fuss is about, there's a Camaro out there waiting for you, and here at North Park Chevrolet, our friendly and knowledgeable team would love to help you find it.

How the 2023 Chevy Tahoe Perfectly Balances Power and Performance

There’s no doubt that the SUV's popularity in recent years is at an all-time high. Much of this is due to several manufacturers answering the consumer needs for smaller vehicles that are easier to handle in both urban and suburban environments. The typical family needs a small enough vehicle to park in a garage yet still offer a considerable storage capacity for transporting people and objects from place to place. While this is agreeable for some, others need a vehicle of epic proportions to properly take care of their needs. These workhorses still exist and roam the earth, and the very best of them is the Chevy Tahoe. If you’re in the market for an SUV of exceptional capability, then finding a Tahoe for sale is certainly in your best interest. In terms of both powertrains and performance, very few have come close to what Chevy has to offer. No matter what your needs might be in a full-sized vehicle, you can find it at North Park Chevrolet, thanks to our exceptional selection of full-size SUV models. The Tahoe’s Early Beginnings The Chevy Tahoe made its debut in 1994, a few years after the release of its sibling, the GMC Yukon. The Tahoe arrived at a unique time in the industry. While the SUV wasn’t nearly as popular as it is today, the class was beginning to gain traction and a reputation for formidable towing prowess, mysterious powertrains, and seating and storage capacity that far exceeded normal expectations. From those formative years to today, the Tahoe and its slightly larger counterpart, the Suburban, have remained in production ever since and continue to deliver the goods whenever the situation calls for it. With well over 120 cu.ft. of available storage space, Chevy has always kept the needs of the big hauler and avid off-roader in mind and provided them with the very best. Rest assured, the Tahoe does it all, and, as we’ll see today, it always will. Under the Hood and Beyond Expectations While many SUVs have changed dramatically over the years, the Tahoe has been consistent in its design and specifications. From the earliest days to now, the Tahoe has relied on a V8 to propel it forward and perform at its maximum potential. The qualities attributed to the Tahoe’s performance are legendary, and that tradition continues in 2023. Since the 2021 model year, diesel power has lent its own contribution to the Tahoe, with the Duramax inline-six turbo diesel utilized throughout the GM fleet. Aside from being a part of the Tahoe’s engine lineup, it can also be found in the Chevy Suburban, the GMC Yukon, and Cadillac Escalade. From 2019 to 2022, it also served a prominent role in the Chevy Silverado 1500 and its sibling, the GMC Sierra. Equipped with a ten-speed Allison transmission, the engine generates an impressive 460 lb-ft of torque and 277 hp. The towing capacity of the Tahoe equipped with the Duramax is 8,200 lbs, which is the smallest of the three engines but still a formidable amount considering the size of the vehicle in question. As is expected, the Tahoe has potency in the form of not one but two V8 engines. The first can be found in many of the same vehicles as the Duramax engine. A part of the Tahoe since the 2021 model year, the GM 5.3L Ecotec3 V8 is a formidable weapon that boasts 355 hp and the capability to generate 383 lb-ft of torque. It also carries the maximum towing capacity for the Chevy Tahoe, which maxes out at 8,400 lbs. If you consider yourself the trailering type, this engine will benefit you the most. The final piece of this trifecta is the ideal compromise between the Duramax inline-six and the 5.3L. The 6.2L Ecotec3 V8 balances performance and practicality together. Like its V8 sibling, it was introduced to the Tahoe during the 2021 model year but stepped up the game in terms of capability. With 420 hp and the ability to produce 460 lb-ft of torque, it holds the middle ground of taking capacity among the three engines, with 8,300 lbs. being its maximum. It also offers a respectable fuel economy, getting 15 MPG in the city and 20 MPG on the highway, which is quite impressive for a full-size SUV. Off-Roading Excellence It’s safe to assume that any SUV can go off-roading to a certain extent, but all trims are not created equal in this aspect. This unique breed of driver calls for a special type of vehicle that can handle the rigors of the rough terrain and tame any landscape. In the tradition of catering to the needs of the many, the Tahoe comes available in a Z71 off-road edition that’s perfect for taking the road less traveled and leaving the pavement and civilization far behind. It has standard 4WD and comes with either the 5.3L V8 or the available 6.2L V8. As both engines come with a ten-speed automatic transmission, you’re guaranteed a smooth ride, no matter what the terrain beneath you might look like. This is guaranteed thanks to the eight inches of ground clearance to keep obstacles out of your way. Independent and multi-link suspension makes for a ride where control is always in place and in your grasp. The Z71 Off-Road Performance package, when included with the edition, elevates your off-road experience to one that surpasses all others. Not only will you be able to raise and lower your ride height to your exact specifications courtesy of a set of air springs to compliment the 20-inch all-terrain tires. How to Get the Most Out of the Chevy Silverado 2500 HD

The Chevy Silverado is one of the most popular series of full-size trucks on the market, with something to meet every need. While the standard Silverado 1500 light-duty model is a great choice for many drivers, and the Silverado 3500 HD is the ultimate expression of power among these trucks, the Silverado 2500 HD is the perfect “middle way” between the two. When you’re looking for a Silverado 2500 for sale, it’s important to understand what kind of towing power you need and choose the configuration that will deliver what you require. This means more than simply choosing the right engine since several different factors can all impact capability, which is to say, maximum towing ability. It can be tricky to keep track of everything when trying to figure out what configuration and options are right for the kind of power you need, but we’re here to help. Today, we’re going to take you through the major things to consider as you’re trying to get the right amount of towing and how each one can impact the overall performance you end up with. This will make it easier to look at your options and decide what you need to get the perfect 2023 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD. First and Foremost: The Engines The engine is probably the most obvious place to start when talking about performance and towing. There are two different engines available, and though they’re both great choices, there are some key differences between them. The standard pick is a 6.6L V8 gas engine that delivers 401 hp and 464 lb-ft of torque and comes with a six-speed automatic transmission. You can also choose a 6.6L Duramax Turbo-Diesel V8 engine that provides 445 hp and a massive 910 lb-ft of torque, which comes with an Allison 10-speed automatic. There’s also a version of this diesel engine offered with a Power Take-Off for added acceleration when you need it. Your choice of engine matters regardless of which type of towing you’re interested in, though other factors can make a big difference. The standard gas engine tops out at 14,500 lbs of maximum conventional and 17,370 lbs of gooseneck towing, while the available diesel engine can handle up to 18,500 lbs of conventional towing or 18,510 lbs of gooseneck towing. Differences in Wheel Size Depending on the trim you choose for the Chevy Silverado 2500 HD, you’ll find a few different wheel sizes on this pickup, which results in different sizes of tires wrapped around them too. This doesn’t always have a big impact on the towing you can do, but it can matter, so it’s still worth keeping in mind. In general, you’ll find 17-inch wheels as the smallest option, with 18-inch and 20-inch wheels available; both 18-inch and 20-inch options tend to be identical in terms of the capability they offer. While the differences in wheel sizes might not be massive, they can be important and worth considering. For example, two otherwise identical Silverado 2500 HD models with the available diesel engine, Crew Cab, Standard Bed, and 4x4 can have different conventional tow ratings based on the wheels. In this example, a model with 17-inch wheels might have 14,500 lbs of maximum conventional towing, while one with larger wheels can haul up to 17,850 lbs behind it. Configuration Part One: The Cab Size There are numerous configurations available for the Silverado 2500 HD, with three different cab sizes to choose from. The smallest option is the Regular Cab, which is a two-door model with limited space inside; an available Double Cab is larger but not massive, while the Crew Cab is the biggest choice with plenty of space inside. Your choice of cab size will impact numerous aspects of the Silverado 2500 HD, including which bed lengths are available, the trims you can choose from, and the performance you get. While you can get both engines with any cab size, other things can be restricted. Depending on your choices, the Regular Cab can get up to 14,500 lbs of conventional towing and 18,510 lbs of gooseneck towing. A Double Cab model also tops out at 14,500 lbs of conventional towing but just 18,200 lbs of gooseneck towing. With a Crew Cab, you can get up to 18,500 lbs of conventional and gooseneck towing (with the diesel engine). Configuration Part Two: The Bed Length The bed length also has a direct impact on the kind of towing you can get from the Silverado 2500 HD. There are two lengths available: a Standard Bed that’s 82.25 inches long and a Long Bed that measures 98.27 inches. The Regular Cab is only offered with the Long Bed, but the other two beds can be paired with either bed. With a Standard Bed, the Silverado 2500 HD can handle up to 18,500 lbs of conventional or gooseneck towing when properly equipped, while a model with the Long Bed can get up to 18,500 lbs of maximum conventional towing and 18,510 lbs of gooseneck towing. Conventional Towing vs. Gooseneck Towing You’re no doubt aware that there are two primary types of towing you should have in mind while choosing the overall setup of the Silverado 2500 HD that’s right for you. The important thing to remember is that not every configuration can handle the same amount of both types, so it’s important to know which you’ll use more often and choose accordingly. In many cases, the difference is substantial, but it might not always be as expected. For example, a Regular Cab and Long Bed model with the diesel engine might have 14,500 lbs of conventional towing and up to 18,510 lbs of gooseneck towing. On the other hand, a Double Cab model with a Standard Bed, 4x4, 17-inch wheels, and the diesel engine could have 14,500 lbs of conventional towing and just 12,610 lbs of gooseneck towing. This is why it’s vital that you look at the big picture and know what you need from your truck before making a decision. Bringing It All Together You may still be unsure of which 2023 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD is right for you since we’ve looked at many different factors. That’s understandable since it comes down to bringing all these things together to look at the big picture and recognize what will meet your needs. If the most important thing to you is very high gooseneck capability, then your best bet could be a model with a Regular Cab, Long Bed, 17-inch wheels, and diesel engine to get 18,510 lbs of maximum gooseneck towing. Just keep in mind that a model with the larger Crew Cab, Long Bed, larger wheels, and diesel engine can handle up to 18,500 lbs of gooseneck towing, which is essentially the same. More importantly, however, this second example can also haul up to 18,500 lbs of weight behind it through conventional towing, while that first one tops out at just 14,500 lbs of conventional towing capacity. This is why the big-picture approach is so important and why it’s vital that you understand how all of these factors work together as you’re selecting the perfect truck with everything you need. All you have to do now is figure out how much towing you want to be able to do with your truck and then choose the configuration, engine, wheels, and similar options that bring it all together to create the perfect pickup you’ve been looking for. If you still need more guidance, we welcome you to come down to North Park Chevrolet, and our friendly and knowledgeable sales team would be happy to help you determine which model configuration will best suit your performance needs.

A Few Reasons Why We’re Excited About the 2024 Chevy Equinox

Chevy recently announced to the automotive world that they would move their whole lineup of vehicles steadily toward an all electric vehicle (EV) lineup, and they have been delivering on that announcement since. One exciting way they’re doing that is with the 2024 Equinox EV. Chevy consistently shows that EV technology does not have to be reserved for small cars like coupes or sedans. It has demonstrated this with the Silverado, and now it’s doing it with the Equinox. So now, people who need the power, comfort, and space of an SUV, but want to say goodbye to gas pumps forever, can find it all in the Equinox EV. You might just want to reserve your order now because we can see these running out fast, so if you're looking for a Chevy Equinox EV dealer in Castroville, TX, and the surrounding area, look no further than North Park Chevrolet. Pairing sophistication, intuitive features, and impressive handling with EV technology is a combination many drivers cannot ignore and want to experience for themselves. For now, let's take a look at everything we love about the upcoming 2024 Equinox EV. A Best-In-Class Battery With Exceptional Protection First, this car gets an impressive estimated 300 miles on a full charge. That’s a battery range that can get you from Seattle to Portland, from Los Angeles to San Diego, from Austin to Houston, from NYC to the Hamptons…you get the idea. Plenty of popular road trips can be handled without making one single stop to charge up, thanks to this great battery range. When we talk about support, we are talking about the fact that all new Equinox EVs will come with Chevy’s 8-year or 100,000-mile (whichever comes first) limited warranty on the battery. Making the switch to electric can be intimidating for some, but with this warranty, you know you’re covered if anything goes wrong with the battery. So feel free to enjoy driving right past that gas station, knowing Chevy will take care of your battery. The support doesn’t end there, either. When you pair your car with the Energy Assist feature on the MyChevrolet smartphone app, it will help you plan the most efficient route, incorporating stops for charging, and let you pay for your charging from your phone. The Equinox EV is always ready to direct you to the nearest charging station when you need it. There also doesn’t have to be tons of downtime for charging, either. You can get up to 70 miles of range on just 10 minutes of charging. Forgot to charge the car overnight, and now you're late to work? No problem. Just plug it in for a few minutes, and you should be good to go by the time your coffee is done brewing. If you do opt for a standard 11.5 kW level 2 (AC) charger at home, you can get up to an additional 34 miles of range per hour. A Stunning Interior The inside of the Equinox EV is truly a work of art. It has an available 17.7-inch diagonal freeform display screen, which shows the inner workings of your vehicle on a crisp, clear and beautiful screen. The entire dashboard looks futuristic, modern, and lovely; you’ll almost feel like the captain of a spaceship. At its core, let’s not forget that this is your road trip and family car. As such, it has a generous 57.2 cu.ft. of maximum cargo space, which should do the trick when you need to load up all the kid’s sports gear or the whole family’s luggage for the family vacation. Plus, it has a dual-height cargo area allowing for further customization of your storage space. Depending on which color option you choose, you could get some great two-tone upholstery on comfortable and easy-to-clean seats. A Sleek and Modern Exterior The outside of this car will catch your attention immediately; it has clean, sophisticated curves that accentuate its modern design. Plus, it has a fun all-new headlight bar over the grille that almost looks like a streak of lightning when it activates and gives more consistent lighting across the front of the vehicle than standard headlights. This sits above the iconic diamond-printed grille, creating an overall contemporary and elegant aesthetic. Chevy made some interesting choices in the color options with this vehicle. Between the metallic blues, reds, grays, and whites, it’s hard not to wonder if they were mimicking the American flag as a reminder that Chevy runs through the veins of this country and the American automotive industry. Maybe it’s a hint that EV is the way of America’s future. Either way, they are sophisticated and diverse color options that make a statement. Intuition and Freedom at Its Finest Chevy has incorporated several features into the 2024 Equinox EV that take much of the work out of driving. First, you can use the available one pedal driving in certain driving situations. This will let you speed up and brake with one pedal, relieving driver fatigue in stop-and-go traffic. This feature has a second benefit: it converts the vehicle’s kinetic energy into stored battery energy for an even more efficient vehicle. Next, you get Super Cruise, which allows for hands-free driving on over 400,000 miles of compatible roads in the US and Canada. This is a major perk on long drives when handling the vehicle gets tiresome. The car even has a hands-free start system that senses you as you approach the vehicle and starts the engine. All you have to do is just get in and drive. You also get a large wireless charging pad ideal for powering up devices like tablets and smartphones, making this car’s interior almost better than your office desk. And then there’s Ultifi, a system that enables over-the-air software updates, so you don’t even have to worry about handling those yourself. The 2024 Equinox EV also comes with a rich suite of standard driver assist features like automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert, following distance indicator, and lane keep assist. All these give you the peace of mind that your car will have your back when you’re less than a perfect driver. Preorder the 2024 Equinox Today and Join the All-Electric Future There is just so much to love about the 2024 Equinox EV. You can feel Chevy’s love for their drivers in this car because they include countless features that make it a true pleasure to be behind the wheel of this vehicle. Chevy seems to have thought of every real-life obstacle, challenge, and inconvenience drivers face every day and strived hard to create a car that would reduce and even eliminate them. It is, first and foremost, an impressive EV that will let you say goodbye to money spent on gas forever, and it has an impressive battery range that means less time waiting for a charge, too. But even forgetting about its EV capabilities for a moment, it’s just a beautiful car that will turn heads. It’s loaded with advanced infotainment features and a stunning dashboard, making it feel like a glimpse into the future. It has so many smart features that take some of the thinking and work out of driving, leaving you to enjoy this masterpiece.

Ready to Order a Chevy EV? Here’s What to Look For

Chevy’s lineup of electric vehicles (EVs) is not only one of the best around, but it’s also growing to include a wide range of options. Whether you’re looking for a sporty and nimble hatchback, a family-friendly SUV, or a powerful pickup, Chevy has you covered with an EV option that will deliver everything you need. As your Chevy EV dealer, we here at North Park Chevrolet are incredibly pleased to be able to offer all of these fantastic vehicles, though we should mention that you can’t get all of them just yet. More than half of the Chevy EV lineup is only available for preorder or reservation right now and won’t be hitting the road until next year. That still gives you two great options you can find at the moment, and if you can wait, putting in an order right now is the perfect way to ensure you can get one of the first new Chevy EV models in 2023. If you’re unsure which model is right for you or what’s available now or in the near future, then we’re here to help. Let’s take a look at the Chevy EV models you can buy and reserve right now to see what’s available. The Chevy Bolt EV The oldest model that’s still a part of Chevy’s EV lineup, the Bolt EV set the pace for what was to come and demonstrated the kind of innovation we’ve come to expect from these vehicles. While it’s been through quite a few changes, the Bolt EV provides a great option that’s fun to drive, completely electric, and starts at a very accessible price. This will likely remain the entry-level EV model in Chevy’s lineup for quite some time and yet you still get nearly 260 miles of range from a full charge and it can go from 0 to 60 in just 6.5 seconds. Inside the Bolt EV, you’ll find a gorgeous 10.2-inch infotainment display with knobs and buttons for simple controls to make it easy to adjust things while driving. You can charge the Bolt EV at home through Level 1 (120v) or Level 2 (240v) charging or charge even faster at a public station. The 2023 Bolt EV is available right now and starts at just $25,600, which is nearly $6,000 lower than last year’s starting price! The Chevy Bolt EUV If you like the design and performance of the Chevy Bolt, but you’re looking for something a bit different, or you prefer the functionality of an SUV, then the Bolt EUV is a perfect choice. This is an “Electric Utility Vehicle” built on the same platform as the standard Bolt EV, so it delivers a similar driving experience. Since it’s a bit larger, with an SUV shape rather than the Bolt’s hatchback design, it gets up to 247 miles of range from a full charge and can go from 0 to 60 in 7.0 seconds, but otherwise, it is quite comparable. The Bolt EUV was Chevy’s first effort in developing an electric SUV, though two more are on their way. It quickly reached the market since it shares much with the Bolt EV. Features inside are quite similar between both Bolt models; the EUV has a fantastic infotainment display and great tech and safety features for you to enjoy. Chevy’s innovative Super Cruise technology, which allows for a true hands-free driving experience on compatible roads, is also available on the Bolt EUV. The 2023 model starts at just $27,200, which is a bit more than the Bolt EV, but more than $6,000 less than last year’s model. The Chevy Silverado EV Although the Bolt EV and EUV are available right now, these next three options won’t hit the road until sometime next year, so keep that in mind. The Silverado EV is Chevy’s first all-electric Silverado, and we’re incredibly excited to be able to offer everything it will bring to the road. This model is built using GM’s new Ultium battery platform, showcasing everything that GM’s engineers learned in developing the GMC Hummer EV over the last couple of years. All of this comes together to make the Silverado EV a truck unlike any other. With its all-electric performance, the Silverado EV will get more than 660 hp and 780 lb-ft of torque using its Wide Open Watts system. This is essentially an electronic launch control feature that allows the Silverado EV to go from 0 to 60 in just 4.5 seconds, though it will still be able to get 400 miles of estimated range from a full charge. All of this comes together to create a hard-working pickup that offers performance, unlike anything we’ve seen in a Chevy truck. At the moment, you can reserve your Silverado EV and it’s set to be available in Fall 2023, but it will certainly be hard to find without a reservation. The Chevy Blazer EV If you’re looking for more of a conventional electric SUV, the upcoming Chevy Blazer EV should definitely be on your list. Considering how popular the Blazer has been with so many drivers, it’s no surprise that Chevy has chosen to make it one of their flagship EV models. It looks to be an absolute beauty that delivers gorgeous style, bold and exhilarating performance, and excellent range, all in a sophisticated SUV package. GM estimates a range of up to 320 miles from a full charge and can go from 0 to 60 in less than 4.0 seconds. The interior of the Blazer EV looks incredible, with an 11-inch driver information screen and a 17.7-inch infotainment display for an amazing driver experience. A hands-free start system means you can simply get into the Blazer EV, tap the brake, and hit the road instantly. What a lot of us here at North Park Chevrolet are excited about is the SS trim that Chevy recently announced. It's designed to live up to the legacy of these two letters; the Blazer EV SS will feature 22-inch wheels, Wide Open Watts performance, and performance-focused electric all-wheel drive (eAWD). You can reserve a Chevy Blazer EV right now, with most trims set to be released in Summer 2023, with certain trims to come out in the following months. The Chevy Equinox EV One of the most important things about moving toward an all-electric lineup is that vehicles need to be accessible to a wide range of drivers. Both the Bolt EV and Bolt EUV hit that mark right now, but in the years to come, they’ll be joined by the Chevy Equinox EV. This stylish and impressive all-electric SUV will be offered in numerous trims, providing an option to meet a wide range of budgets. Just as the standard Equinox is a great family-friendly SUV, the Equinox EV will bring all-electric performance into the lives of many drivers. Fantastic safety features like automatic emergency braking and a forward collision alert will be standard on the Equinox EV, with options like the Super Cruise feature also available. With eAWD, the Equinox EV will be able to go from 0 to 60 in about 6.0 seconds, produce 290 hp, and tow up to 1,500 lbs. The only real downside of the Equinox is that you can’t reserve one right now, though reservations should open soon since it’s expected to start hitting the road in Fall 2023. Come visit us at North Park Chevrolet or give us a call if you’re interested in one of the Chevy Bolt models, want to reserve the Silverado or Blazer, or want to get the latest updates about the Equinox. We're here to help you join our EV revolution with our amazing lineup of all-electric vehicles.

What You Should Know About GM Purchase Programs

Who doesn’t want to save money? Many of us will go looking for the best deals, but you may be eligible to save money in ways you didn't realize when you buy a car from GM. Not every company recognizes the hard work and dedicated service of first responders or those who served and are serving the country with something as simple as a discount. Not every company wants to give students in college a bit of a break with their finances. Now every company gives their employees good discounts on their products. However, when you shop GM here at North Park Chevrolet, you'll have access to the GM purchase programs that cover all of these people and more. Several factors allow you to be eligible for one purchase program or another. From the GM workforce to the military, students, teachers, and more, GM purchase programs are the pinnacle of purchase programs anywhere in the industry. But why is that? We’ll explain what you should expect from each GM purchase program. After familiarizing yourself with your available discounts, you can visit North Park Chevrolet to utilize a purchase program to shop for your next vehicle. Student Discount We are going to start with a program that is for those who are already strapped for cash: college students. GM understands that college is expensive and so they offer the College Appreciation Program to help out. Whether you’re a current student or have recently acquired your degree, you’ll be eligible for Chevrolet’s College Appreciation program. With the College Appreciation program, you get a lengthy list of vehicles that qualify for the program. The selection of cars includes the previous three model years, so the vehicle you purchase will be either a 2021, 2022, or a new 2023 model. The College Appreciation Program includes many Chevrolet models, from electric options like the Bolt EV and EUV to sports cars like the Camaro, trucks like the Silverado, and more. Teacher Discount On the same note as the student discount we previously mentioned, educators get an identical deal. Teachers deserve recognition, so why not enjoy a special discount for a brand-new Chevrolet car, SUV, or truck? Teachers have a lengthy list of Chevy models to browse, from commuter-friendly options like the Chevy Malibu or family-friendly SUVs like the full-size Tahoe to hard-working trucks like the Silverado. Educators need not worry if they’ll be on the eligibility list as the GM Purchase Program offers a discount to educators in the public school system and community, college professors, private institutions like boarding schools, charter schools, and professors at any university. GM Employees & Suppliers GM is a manufacturer that understands that without its hard-working and dedicated employees, there would be no GM. To honor the hard work its employees give them, GM offers Supplier and Family-First employee discounts. Current or former GM employees can use the Family First employee discount, and under certain conditions, so can your family. GM Financial employees are eligible for the Family First Employee Discount, but former employees must meet set criteria: they must have worked for at least five years with the company. If you have been with the company for over 20 years, you can extend your discount to more than your immediate family. Those who worked there for five to twenty years can give their discount to their significant other or their child if they’re under 21 years old. If you’ve worked at GM for over twenty years, regardless if you were a salary or hourly worker, you can extend your discount to everyone from in-laws and step-siblings to grandparents, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts––the list goes on. Being part of the GM family runs deep. If a loved one worked at GM for at least five years before passing away, the same family members are entitled to the same discounts we mentioned. Employees who worked at GM for over twenty years before passing away will still have car discounts for their extended family, like the current and previous GM employees. The discount GM Employees and their loved ones get varies based on the price of the vehicle. The pricier the car is, the more money you’ll save. However, a significant difference between the GM Employees’ purchase program and the previous two we mentioned is more automobiles. If you’re using the employee discount, you can select a GMC, Buick, Chevy, or Cadillac vehicle, albeit ones from the list of eligible vehicles. Not only are there a decent number of automobiles from each manufacturer on the list, but the car in mention will be a brand-new 2023, 2022, or 2021 model. The discount suppliers are welcome to follow many of the same fundamentals as the GM Employee’s Discount, but there are some changes. GM Suppliers aren’t those who work in the dealership but those working behind the scenes, and their discounts apply to pickup trucks, vans, SUVs, and more. Not only do employees and suppliers get money off their purchases, but they can regularly combine their employee or supplier discounts with other offers that may be around during your shopping; however, this may vary depending on current offerings. First Responders & Military The discussion on GM Purchase Programs wouldn’t be complete without discussing first responders and service members, either current or former. First Responders and those serving in the military are eligible for the same discounts. Like the GM Employees and Suppliers Purchase Programs, but unlike the teacher or student discounts, first responders and military service members can choose a vehicle produced by either Buick, Cadillac, GMC, or Chevrolet. The idea of allowing first responders and military service members choices when shopping for a car may sound like a novel concept. However, not every manufacturer has a program as generous towards heroes, either current or retired. That’s why GM is proud to have discounts for those who deserve recognition for everything they’ve done for the public. If a first responder, military service member, or veteran is shopping for a vehicle, they will have plenty of choices between brand-new 2021, 2022, and 2023 GM products. However, the true benefit stems from the discounts you get. If you’re selecting a GMC, Chevy, or Buick vehicle, you’ll get half a thousand dollars off your purchase, which means extra money in your pocket. Otherwise, shoppers looking into purchasing a Cadillac will have $1,000 taken off their purchase. Discounts Are Important Discounts are crucial to the industry because of recognizing people making a difference in the world. Making a difference in the world is something not everyone can do, and whether you’re a paramedic, firefighter, police officer, or military service member, the importance of your existence stretches beyond the automotive industry. Alternatively, the employees who keep GM up and running, whether the sales team or technicians at your local dealership like North Park Chevrolet, are crucial to the industry because GM’s importance can’t be understated. For example, GM was the largest automotive manufacturer in America for about ninety years, between 1931 and 2021. Student discounts are a bonus, and it’s always appreciated to see a large corporation helping college students save money wherever possible. Whatever your reasoning for being eligible for one of GM’s many purchase programs, visit North Park Chevrolet, and we’ll get you behind the wheel of a vehicle for a great price.

White 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 off-roading

Your Guide to the 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500

The Chevy Silverado 1500 is a smart buy for any driver who is looking for a highly capable pickup truck with a diverse trim lineup and plenty of engine options to choose from. The Silverado 1500 has long had a reputation for being powerful and versatile, with many cab and bed options. So those who need serious trailering and hauling capabilities can rely on this hefty truck, and those who need more modest capabilities can also find something in the lineup. As your Chevy Silverado 1500 dealer, we know how confusing it can be to shop for one of these trucks, so we are here to help show you some of the options you have available to you. Chevrolet brought some great engine options to the 2022 lineup and some tech and infotainment features that make the pickup a pleasure to be in, even when you aren’t using its powerful capabilities. It boasts a comfortable interior and bold exterior that make it the ideal mix of luxury appointments and a hardworking demeanor. Within its trim lineup, you’ll see many different features available, and you’ll notice a vast MSRP difference from the base models to the top ones. Understanding which one is right for your needs will ensure you pay for the features and power you need and don’t get stuck paying for anything you don’t want. Standard Safety Across All Trims Before diving into the specifics of each trim, let’s take a look at what you can expect to see on most, if not all, of the trims: safety features. It doesn't matter if you are driving through the city or hitting the trails, you want a vehicle that can keep you safe, and the Chevy Silverado 1500 is that vehicle. Each trim comes with Chevy Safety Assist standard. This suite comes with six advanced driver assist features to help you navigate different driving scenarios. The Following Distance Indicator will let you know how close you are following the vehicle ahead to help prevent you from tailgating. Working in tandem, you have the Forward Collision Alert, Automatic Emergency Braking, and Front Pedestrian Braking systems. If the Forward Collision Alert detects a potential collision with an obstacle ahead, it will sound an alert and activate the braking systems in order to help prevent or minimize an impact. Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning will let you know if you are drifting out of your lane and can steer you back on the right path to prevent side-swiping. Finally, the IntelliBeam High Beam Assist will turn your high beams on and off depending on light and traffic conditions. The Engine Lineup There are four engine options on the 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500. Let's take a look at what each trim has to offer, starting with the most expensive and working down to the base model, so you can narrow down your potential selection. High Country The stylish High Country boasts premium leather seating along with an exclusive perforation and stitching pattern for a luxurious feeling cabin. It also has stunning authentic open-pore wood trim that adds to its sophisticated look. You'll also have the large 13.4-inch infotainment display standard. In the capability department, it has available Super Cruise with trailering. This means that Chevy’s hands-free driving technology will work even while you are trailering with your pickup. It also has an advanced trailering camera system with eight cameras and up to 14 views. ZR2 The newest member of the trim lineup, the ZR2, is your ideal off-roader. It has a cut front bumper, large underbody aluminum skid plates, 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory Mud Terrain tires, Multimatic DSSV dampers, and Elockers, so it’s ready to climb over obstacles and tackle uneven terrain. This model also has a touch of luxury with the standard 13.4-inch infotainment display and 12.3-inch driver display. LTZ The LTZ is beautiful on the inside, with highly capable features throughout. It has perforated leather-appointed front seating on the interior and 20-inch polished aluminum wheels on the exterior. Plus, it enjoys an advanced trailer camera system that you can see on the larger infotainment screen, so you always know what’s happening around your trailer. LT Trail Boss The LT Trail Boss competes with the ZR2 for the best off-roader in this lineup, though it is a little more basic than the ZR2 for those with a tighter budget. It has a two-inch factory suspension lift and the Z71 Off-Road Package. This trim is equipped with an Autotrac 2-speed transfer case, automatic locking rear differential, and 18-inch high-gloss Black-painted wheels with Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac Mud Terrain tires. RST The RST is where you start to see more versatility as you get a 40/20/40 split-bench seat with a ten-way power driver seat. This makes it comfortable for the driver during long trips and makes it easy to customize the backseat area to either accommodate the maximum number of passengers or utilize the storage space to its fullest. On the outside of this trim, you’ll see a body-color center grille bar, bumpers, and door handles for a sleek appearance. You can also get available 20-inch high-gloss black wheels. LT The LT has the same 40/20/40 split-bench seat and 10-way power driver seat that the RST enjoys. But, it has available two-inch painted-aluminum wheels with machined faces and Grazen-painted pockets instead of high-gloss black. This trim gets LED reflector headlamps, along with signature daytime running lamps, for improved visibility in a number of conditions. Custom Trail Boss The Custom Trail Boss is also suitable for off-roading, but again not as equipped as the upper trim levels. It has a two-inch factory suspension lift and the Z71 Off-Road Package. Here you’ll see 18-inch high-gloss Black-painted wheels with Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac Mud Terrain tires. What really sets this trim apart is the raised hood and the styled black insert for a bold style. Custom The Custom is going to get eye-catching 20-inch bright silver painted aluminum wheels, but it’s not just stylish. It also has a trailering package, a remote vehicle starter system, an EZ lift power lock, and a release tailgate, making it versatile and ideal for DIYers and adventurers. Along with the ten-way power driver seat, this trim gets lumbar control, and its 40/20/40 split-bench front seat has covered armrest storage and under-seat storage. WT The WT is the stripped-down workhorse of the trim group. It has a durabed featuring unbeatable cargo volume and 12 standard tie downs, perfect for hauling large items. This trim gets a push-button start feature and remote keyless entry. Plus, it has a CornerStep rear bumper (built-in steps at the corners of the back bumper) for easy access to the bed. This truck is a worker's best friend. A Silverado 1500 for Everyone At first glance, the Silverado 1500 lineup might look rather similar from trim to trim. However, once you dive into each option, you see that every trim was designed with a very specific driver in mind. Some trims are clearly for someone who leaves paved roads and beaten paths for roads less traveled and rough surfaces. Others cater to those who like the finer things with upscale interior materials. Chevy also thought of long-haul drivers who need to remain comfortable so they can arrive at their site ready to work. That’s why you see some features like lumbar support or ten-way power seats throughout the lineup. For those who like to make a splash, there are several eye-catching wheel options, from painted aluminum to bold black. Every pickup driver, from the hard hat-wearing kind to the kid’s carpool kind, can find something in this dynamic lineup.

Great Family Vehicles for Getting Around Bexar County

Bexar County is a terrific place to live if you want to give your family the benefits of big-city living while enjoying the pleasures of a small town. But getting around the crowded streets of San Antonio, which is known for having the fifth worst traffic in the state, requires a flexible vehicle. Even going through the less populated suburbs like Helotes, which started out as a small farming community before becoming a rapidly growing, close-knit community of people seeking superior living with small-town charm, can be a chore. You’re going to need a model capable of handling your family's driving needs as well as the tight maneuvering you'll need for the city or to find parking at the renowned John T Floore Country Store live music venue in Helotes, which has featured Willie Nelson and Patsy Cline. As your Helotes Chevy dealer, we’re pretty sure we’re qualified to help you with your vehicle search. To get you started, we recommend you check out these great family vehicles. Looking for Simplicity? Choose a Sedan You can never go wrong with a good ol’ family sedan. They offer spacious and comfortable seating, room for travel essentials in the trunk, and deliver a refined ride with smooth handling no matter where the road takes you. So if you’re interested in a vehicle to simply get you and your family in and around Helotes and San Antonio, a midsize sedan like the Chevy Malibu might just be what you're looking for. The 2022 Chevy Malibu is an affordable and handsome sedan with great gas mileage (an EPA-estimated 32 MPG combined) and an interior that is competitively roomy with plenty of legroom in the back seat to accommodate even three adults. More importantly, its infotainment center provides you with the connectivity you need out on the road to keep you and your passengers at ease. You have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for wireless calling and streaming from your compatible smartphone, as well as a mobile WiFi hotspot to keep your passengers entertained playing their favorite games, streaming their favorite movies, or listening to their favorite music. If You Want a Little More Room, How About a Compact SUV? If you have a small family but want something with more room than a sedan can offer you, then the 2022 Chevy Equinox is a great choice. This compact SUV model is easy to maneuver through the busy streets of Helotes and San Antonio, and it feels like you are driving a sedan. Parents with babies or young children can easily access the back to put a booster or car seat in, so no bending down and straining to buckle everyone in like you would with a sedan. This model has 29.9 cu.ft. of cargo space in the back, which is plenty of room to pack groceries and school supplies. If needed, you can fold the rear seats down to open up 63.9 cu.ft. of space for larger items like a new furniture piece. The 2022 Equinox also doesn't do too bad when it comes to fuel economy. You can expect around 28 MPG combined, which is only slightly less than the Malibu will give you. This vehicle is packed with some of Chevy's best safety and driver-assist features, so you can feel confident you'll get your family where they need to go safely, and Teen Driver is included, so you can know how your new driver is doing when they head out to hang out with their friends. Wirelessly connect your devices, and you and your family are ready to go. Do You Prefer Something More Versatile? Try a Three-Row SUV Compact SUVs are great for small families, but if you’re looking for a vehicle that’s a little more stylish and versatile, a nice three-row SUV should do the trick. A great affordable and reliable model to look into is the Chevy Traverse. It can seat up to eight passengers in its expansive cabin and delivers a versatile performance, capable of towing up to 5,000 lbs, so you can tow a boat or camper. Beyond offering a best-in-class cargo volume of 98.2 cu.ft. and numerous cubbies for storage, the Traverse has plenty of features you and your family will love. There is a convenient power-folding third row for when you need some extra space for groceries or sports equipment when no one’s occupying those seats. Better yet, second-row smart slide seating makes it easy to access the third row. As for technology, of course, you won’t miss out on connectivity or entertainment, but what the Chevy Traverse does offer that non-General Motors vehicles don’t is Teen Driver technology which promotes safe driving and monitors driving habits when you can’t be present. It’s certainly a tool you’ll appreciate once the kids are old enough to venture out on the road by themselves. What About the Most Versatile Automobile, the Pickup Truck? Although you might not think a pickup is an ideal vehicle for your family or urban and rural driving, believe it or not, they can be. Full-size pickups, along with three-row crossovers, are the most desirable vehicles for families. Take the 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500, for example. It's capable of towing an RV up to 13,300 pounds, with innovative trailering technology to make towing a cinch even in tight spaces, allowing you and the family to enjoy some big-rig camping at the state’s highest-rated resort, the Admiralty RV Resort in San Antonio. However, the Silverado can handle much more. Its crew cab option can comfortably accommodate up to six passengers, with enough room in the back seat for rear-facing car seats. It’s even available with a large 13.4-inch infotainment center for all of your smartphone connectivity and streaming needs for entertainment and displaying navigation and trailering assistance information. For a large and powerful pickup, it gets impressive mileage with its diesel powertrain option. You can expect an EPA-estimated 26 MPG combined with RWD and 24 MPG combined with 4WD, which is better than even the hybrid powertrain option of the rival and competitive Ford F-150. Since Chevrolet aims to achieve superior safety and reliability with all of its vehicles, you can trust the Chevy Silverado to keep your family as safe as any other family vehicle for quite some time. So before skipping over a pickup for your family, the Chevy Silverado 1500 is worthy of at least a test drive. Regardless of Preference, North Park Chevrolet Can Help Every family is unique, and so are their vehicle needs. Our Top 4 Chevys for Beating the Heat

You can bet San Antonio residents know a thing or two when it comes to hot weather. While the guys up north might be worried about finding vehicles to get them through the ice and snow, as your San Antonio Chevy dealer, we have another thing on our mind, the heat. While the winters can be mild, San Antonio usually invokes the image of long, muggy days that seem to last for months. In that case, you’ll probably feel the need to seek out the nearest air conditioner. Despite that, you can’t stay indoors all the time, no matter how much you might want to. And while no one wants to get into a hot car on an even hotter day, sometimes you have no choice. Though, to be fair, some vehicles fare better than others, and driving in the summer doesn’t have to be a drag. While things like a dark exterior paint color can absorb heat and make it harder to cool down, vehicles have more features than ever before to keep you cool, even on the hottest days. Features like ventilated seats, dual-zone climate control, convertible tops, and tinted windows are all there to help make a sweltering day a little more bearable. Here are some of the best Chevy’s to help you beat the Texas heat this summer. #1: The Silverado Not a big fan of sweating it out? Even when the mercury is climbing, there are still things that need to be done, so let the 2022 Chevy Silverado help you out. While the heated and ventilated seats might have been paused for the Silverado due to the ongoing microchip shortage, production started back up again, just in time for hot weather. The Silverado will take you where you want to go while keeping you cool. Opt for lighter colors like Summit White, Silver Ice Metallic, or Sand Dune to reflect sunlight, keep your interior cooler, and help your AC run more efficiently, leading to an overall better EPA. Ready to get off-road and into the shade to avoid the blazing sun? The Silverado will have no problem getting you there. Built to tackle uneven and harsh terrain, the 2022 Silverado gives drivers the choice of four premium engines, so they can match their truck to their lifestyle. Plus, with nine Silverado different trim packages to choose from, it means whether you’re hauling, towing, or ready to get off the beaten path, your Silverado is ready when adventure calls. #2: The Trailblazer The Chevy Trailblazer might look compact, but the vehicle was made to handle rough terrain and unforgiving weather conditions; this includes the hot Texas heat. The 2022 Trailblazer was a top safety pick for the IIHS and excels when it comes to performance. The sporty SUV is available in a range of cool hues to keep the sun off your back. Plus, with all the power and efficiency you can ask for, the Trailblazer is ready to tackle whatever you put in front of it. Take your SUV off the beaten path with the Trailblazer ACTIV, which includes sport terrain tires and a tuned suspension designed for off-roading. If your Trailblazer can handle a weekend in the mountains or a hike in the desert, it’s more than capable of handling your everyday jaunts around San Antonio. The 5-seater SUV has more than enough room to give everyone their space and keep cool when temperatures are rising outside. The 60/40 split seat gives you enough cargo room to fit all of your things and then some. Ready to jump in and go? The hands-free liftgate means you can open or close the back with a gentle kick and be on your way in no time. #3: The Malibu Dealing with the heat doesn’t mean you need a rugged off-roader to do it. Sometimes all you need is a dependable sedan to get you from Point A to Point B and back again. The 2022 Chevy Malibu is popular with drivers because of its durability and stylish good looks. If you need a car that will handle the sizzling blacktop of a Texas summer plus get you from work to home without worry, the budget-friendly Malibu is up for the task. A favorite of drivers near and far, the Malibu is a practical sedan with good looks and great features that make your day a little easier. Choose from the efficient 1.5L Turbo engine or the powerful 2.0L to customize your daily ride. Plus, with three models to choose from, it's easier than ever to find a Malibu that fits your busy life. And did we mention ventilated seats? This can be an overlooked feature if you live where winters last for months. But when the heat is bearing down on you, the porous fabric and cool airflow will keep you feeling refreshed. Plus, enjoy the dual-zone climate control, which allows drivers and their passengers to stay as cool or warm as they want, allowing a comfortable ride for all. #4: The Tahoe If you need a large and reliable SUV, the Tahoe is what you’re looking for. With great handling, user–friendly tech, and loads of power, it's no wonder the Tahoe is one of Chevy’s best-selling SUVs. The 7-8 passenger SUV ensures there is enough room for everyone and everything while assuring the driver it’ll get them where they need to go. Suitable for a variety of terrain from city to dusty desert, the Tahoe is a capable beast ready to tackle your toughest challenges. The six different trim packages mean there’s a Tahoe to meet all your needs and then some. But whatever package you decide, one thing remains constant, the Tahoe’s comfortable and user-friendly interior. Designed with drivers and their passengers in mind, the spacious cabin gives everyone room to breathe and relax; this includes those second and third row passengers that can often feel cramped. With best-in-class numbers when it comes to max cargo, the Tahoe makes it easy to load up whatever the journey calls for. The Tahoe gives drivers the flexibility they need to take them from work to play. If your weekend consists of hauling your boat to the lake, then let the Tahoe make it a breeze. Opt for the Tahoe’s 3.0L Turbo Diesel engine to get the most fuel-efficient and capable SUV out there, making it perfect for those summer road trips. Don’t Sweat It When the temps are rising outside, don’t let that stop you from taking on summer. Keep cool during your daily commute in Malibu, or take off for a weekend of swimming and sleeping under the stars in the Chevy Tahoe. When you live in a place like Texas, everything is bigger, that includes the heat index. If you’re thinking about a new vehicle, consider all the options out there to help keep you comfortable and safe. Ventilated seats, open cabins, tinted windows, and light paint colors are all great ways to bring down the temperature when you have no choice but to be outside. Chevy makes some of the toughest vehicles on the market, which makes its cars, trucks, and SUVs great for the beautiful, but extreme conditions of the Lone-Star State. So don’t sweat it! Take on the heat and cool off in a Chevy today.

3 Unique Used Chevys to Look For

Tired of seeing the same old models at every single used car lot you visit? Looking for something a little more special? There are plenty of serviceable, practical, yet boring used cars out there. But there are also many special used vehicles. Chevy has a long history of building unique cars, trucks, and SUVs, and you can occasionally find used examples turn up right here at North Park Chevrolet, your Devine Chevy dealer. Here are three of what we consider the most interesting vehicles that Chevy has rolled out to date. Curious? Then let’s go ahead and dive into what makes these some of the most unique Chevy vehicles that you can find and buy right here at your local Chevy dealer. #1 - 2019 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison Some special edition trucks and trim levels are simply models with fancy badges, new colors, or updated infotainment centers. Not so with the 2019 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison. This off-road truck looks sleek and powerful, like an apex predator, ready to prowl and show off its rippling muscles to all who dare sneak a peek. Along with the usual off-roading equipment, including 31” tires, a lift kit, and a new front suspension, the Colorado ZR2 comes loaded with other tools to provide the most fun off-roading experience possible. The new front suspension includes longer control arms and bigger shocks and springs. The longer control arms, which are made of cast iron, are there to ensure the suspension stays aligned while traveling. Bigger shocks and springs make for a more comfortable ride, even if you’re crawling over rocky terrain, through deep mud, or sloshing through puddles. Skid plates protect the undercarriage of the ZR2 from getting scraped, scratched, dented, or more seriously damaged, while the electronically controlled front and rear locking differentials provide the pickup with traction even in the most precarious of positions. Perhaps the biggest addition or improvement, however, is the dampers, which boast a Multimatic spool-valve design. What this means is that this gives the dampers the flexibility to adjust to various speeds as the truck drives over varying terrain. All these rather hidden improvements come with an aesthetic upgrade as well, most notably the ZR2’s hood and the trim around the wheel wells. With such a unique, powerful, and fun vehicle, you can take off toward the sunset and never have to worry that your truck can’t handle the drive. The Bison variant of the ZR2 adds to the already incredible package by including American Expedition Vehicles in the design process. This adds five hot-stamped boron-steel AEV skid plates to the ZR2, providing more underbody protection, and the upgraded steel bumper is designed to fit a winch, just to name a few of the items that take this off-road truck from incredible beast to basically perfect. The 2019 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison also gets some aesthetic redesigns to further separate it from the common crowd. #2 - 2012 Chevy Camaro Transformers 3 Special Edition Ok, maybe not all of us dream about owning a vehicle that turns out to be a gigantic transformer, but for those of us that do entertain that daydream now and again, Chevrolet has given us the option to own a Transformers Special Edition Camaro in the “Bumblebee” Transformers character’s signature Rally Yellow color. Though earlier editions were more subtle, the 2012 version decided to go the other way, adding styling inside and out to resemble the beloved Transformer it was named after. This is not the car for you if you’re not a fan of Transformers. It is loud and proud, complete with yellow stitching in the interior, stamped headrests, and a high-wing spoiler, ensuring that it catches the eye of every single person in the vicinity. Though you may enjoy the Camaro as a fun drive, if you’re looking to spice things up, the Transformers Special Edition will make you look and feel like you’re going to be in the next Transformers film. Other additions include the iconic black stripes, dark taillights, all-black wheels, and Autobot badges adorning the console, headrests, fenders, and wheels. With such a bold look, the Camaro promises to provide attention, and with its Chevy design, it is guaranteed to be not only an attention-grabber but a superb vehicle to drive as well. Many drivers prefer the Camaro over its muscle car competitors, which include the likes of the Dodge Challenger and the Ford Mustang. The long-standing appreciation for the Camaro blends well with fans who enjoy collecting memorabilia from their favorite franchises, and the Transformers Special Edition is no exception. You’ll be able to drive like a dream, and when you’re caught in traffic, you can imagine what it would be like for your vehicle to suddenly turn into a Transformer and walk its way off the road and into a big adventure. #3 - 2005 Chevy SSR This has to be Chevy’s most unique design to date––the SSR was only sold from 2003 to 2006, but it definitely garnered a multitude of opinions from critics, enthusiasts, and the general public. Whether you liked the look or not, there was something uniquely vintage about the roadster, something that called to mind images of a previous Chevy model, the Advance Design truck that was manufactured and sold in the late 1940s and early 1950s. The retro styling was paired with a few newer additions, such as the retractable hardtop, which helped push the SSR into Chevy’s more unique group of offerings. This vehicle isn’t for the faint of heart. It demands to be noticed. The 2005 model, in particular, was met with high praise due to offering a larger 6.0L V8 engine and the option to swap the four-speed automatic transmission in favor of a six-speed manual transmission. Just these two changes vastly improved the driving experience of the SSR, but Chevrolet didn’t stop there––it revamped the steering system as well, and with trim packages that include an engine cover inset, a Bose sound system, and heated seats, the SSR was ready to measure up against any other truck in its class. Though the SSR is no longer sold new, if you’re lucky, you can still find some of these cool roadsters in our used car inventory. However, there were just over 24,000 units made, so these are rare, to say the least. If you like the idea of a pickup that can double as a convertible, something you can show off, then the SSR just might be the vehicle for you. Taking one for a test drive should convince you that it’s too much fun to leave on the lot. If you ever see one on the road, take a moment to notice its one-of-a-kind appearance, and admire the bright color pop of its coat. Even if we never see Chevy release a new SSR, there’s hope that it might one day re-imagine it. Chevy is known to take inspiration from older models and create retro vehicles that will appeal to older and younger drivers alike. Because let’s face it, who doesn’t want a convertible hardtop for those perfect Sunday afternoons that just beg for you to take to the road and explore to your heart’s content? Whether you’re looking for an off-road trekker, a speedster capable of at least looking like it could turn into an Autobot at a moment’s notice, or just something a little special for your everyday commute, there’s a Chevy for you. A wide variety of choices awaits you here at North Park Chevrolet in a range of colors, sizes, and prices.
