All of this comes together to make the Silverado EV a truck unlike any other. With its all-electric performance, the Silverado EV will get more than 660 hp and 780 lb-ft of torque using its Wide Open Watts system. This is essentially an electronic launch control feature that allows the Silverado EV to go from 0 to 60 in just 4.5 seconds, though it will still be able to get 400 miles of estimated range from a full charge. The Chevy Blazer EV If you’re looking for more of a conventional electric SUV, the upcoming Chevy Blazer EV should definitely be on your list. Considering how popular the Blazer has been with so many drivers, it’s no surprise that Chevy has chosen to make it one of their flagship EV models. It looks to be an absolute beauty that delivers gorgeous style, bold and exhilarating performance, and excellent range, all in a sophisticated SUV package. GM estimates a range of up to 320 miles from a full charge and can go from 0 to 60 in less than 4.0 seconds. Not so with the 2019 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison. This off-road truck looks sleek and powerful, like an apex predator, ready to prowl and show off its rippling muscles to all who dare sneak a peek. Along with the usual off-roading equipment, including 31” tires, a lift kit, and a new front suspension, the Colorado ZR2 comes loaded with other tools to provide the most fun off-roading experience possible. The new front suspension includes longer control arms and bigger shocks and springs. The longer control arms, which are made of cast iron, are there to ensure the suspension stays aligned while traveling. Bigger shocks and springs make for a more comfortable ride, even if you’re crawling over rocky terrain, through deep mud, or sloshing through puddles. Skid plates protect the undercarriage of the ZR2 from getting scraped, scratched, dented, or more seriously damaged, while the electronically controlled front and rear locking differentials provide the pickup with traction even in the most precarious of positions. This adds five hot-stamped boron-steel AEV skid plates to the ZR2, providing more underbody protection, and the upgraded steel bumper is designed to fit a winch, just to name a few of the items that take this off-road truck from incredible beast to basically perfect. The 2019 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison also gets some aesthetic redesigns to further separate it from the common crowd. #2 - 2012 Chevy Camaro Transformers 3 Special Edition Ok, maybe not all of us dream about owning a vehicle that turns out to be a gigantic transformer, but for those of us that do entertain that daydream now and again, Chevrolet has given us the option to own a Transformers Special Edition Camaro in the “Bumblebee” Transformers character’s signature Rally Yellow color. Though earlier editions were more subtle, the 2012 version decided to go the other way, adding styling inside and out to resemble the beloved Transformer it was named after. This is not the car for you if you’re not a fan of Transformers. It is loud and proud, complete with yellow stitching in the interior, stamped headrests, and a high-wing spoiler, ensuring that it catches the eye of every single person in the vicinity. Though you may enjoy the Camaro as a fun drive, if you’re looking to spice things up, the Transformers Special Edition will make you look and feel like you’re going to be in the next Transformers film. Other additions include the iconic black stripes, dark taillights, all-black wheels, and Autobot badges adorning the console, headrests, fenders, and wheels. Whether you liked the look or not, there was something uniquely vintage about the roadster, something that called to mind images of a previous Chevy model, the Advance Design truck that was manufactured and sold in the late 1940s and early 1950s. The retro styling was paired with a few newer additions, such as the retractable hardtop, which helped push the SSR into Chevy’s more unique group of offerings. This vehicle isn’t for the faint of heart. It demands to be noticed. The 2005 model, in particular, was met with high praise due to offering a larger 6.0L V8 engine and the option to swap the four-speed automatic transmission in favor of a six-speed manual transmission. Just these two changes vastly improved the driving experience of the SSR, but Chevrolet didn’t stop there––it revamped the steering system as well, and with trim packages that include an engine cover inset, a Bose sound system, and heated seats, the SSR was ready to measure up against any other truck in its class. Though the SSR is no longer sold new, if you’re lucky, you can still find some of these cool roadsters in our used car inventory. However, there were just over 24,000 units made, so these are rare, to say the least. Taking one for a test drive should convince you that it’s too much fun to leave on the lot. If you ever see one on the road, take a moment to notice its one-of-a-kind appearance, and admire the bright color pop of its coat. Even if we never see Chevy release a new SSR, there’s hope that it might one day re-imagine it. There’s a lot to choose from, but these are the 5 we felt went above and beyond what is expected out of a truck and provided drivers with the best experience at a used price tag. more 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 Our first pick regarding the best used trucks available is the 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500. We usually try to save the best for last, but the 2017 Silverado is just too good to ignore. As a Chevy dealer, you may feel like we are a bit biased, but let us explain why the 2017 Silverado is the best used truck available. One of the many reasons the Silverado is our top pick is the safety upgrades this particular year received. Chevy has always been very safety conscious, but we feel like they kicked it up a notch for the 2017 models. Unlike the model years prior, the 2017s have forward emergency braking. This additional safeguard can make a huge split-second difference in accident prevention and elevated this model year quite a bit. They also added the teen driver settings to the 2017s, which helps parents feel better about putting their new drivers behind the wheel. The versatile powertrain options are just one more piece of what makes the Silverado so great. Drivers of the 2017 model can select between three different engine options, which are a 4.3L V6, a 5.3L V8, and a 6.2L V8. The transmission can also be changed from a six-speed to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Not only did Chevy give drivers a ton of options in terms of engines, but they also included an eAssist for the 5.3L engine. The eAssist is akin to a hybrid-type engine and can help the Silverado be more eco-friendly. All these options make the Silverado a good fit for any driver. When it comes to the interior of the Silverado, even the base trim has extreme levels of comfort. The seats are comfortable, and the interior trim and materials are high quality. The inside of the 2017 model is set up to be as durable as the rest of the truck, putting it to a level that not all other makes and models can rise to. The infotainment system in the 2017 Silverado 1500 is even better quality than the materials inside. Chevy put top-of-the-line equipment into the infotainment, making it a total steal at used truck prices. The infotainment is as responsive as the truck's steering and as attractive as the entire truck. All in all, Chevy invested in making the 2017 Silverado 1500 a truck worth the cost of its new price tag but making it an even better value to get at a used price. 2020 Toyota Tacoma We liked the 2020 Tacoma from their used truck lineup because Toyota really put effort into upgrading the 2020 models. The 2020 Tacomas were the first year to have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as a standard feature, and that hands-free usability of your device is a non-negotiable detail. Along with the updated infotainment, the 2020 Tacoma has a whole array of safety and driver assistance features. Among other things, the Tacoma's adaptive cruise control, parking assist, forward emergency braking, lane keep assistance, and departure warnings make it a really enjoyable truck to drive because there’s just less you have to try to keep track of. On the inside, one of the main things that makes the 2020 Tacoma a great used truck is the addition of a power-adjusted driver's seat. This standard component makes the seat far superior to lifting a lever while booty-scooting the seat forward. The fact that you no longer have to do an awkward lean and shove to get situated into your driving position is a huge relief. We also appreciate that the Tacoma is a smaller truck with big truck capabilities. Towing 6,800 lbs is no easy feat, but the 2020 Tacoma can do that while still being swift and responsive to drivers. 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 Right behind, and more likely tied with the Tacoma, is the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500. While this truck is often considered a sibling to the Chevy Silverado, it's different enough that we felt it merited its own place on the list. One of the best things about the 2019 Sierra is that it has 4 different engine options, which include the base level 4.3L Ecotec3 V6, with an output of 285 hp and 305 lb-ft of torque, and the 2.7L Turbo Diesel, with its 310 hp and 348 lb-ft of torque. For those looking to take it up a notch, the 5.3L Ecotec3 V8 gives you 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque, and the powerful 6.2L Ecotec3 V8 has a monster output of 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. While that flexibility alone could have earned the Sierra a place, it has more than its wide variety of engines to offer. The standard touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are other winning features. Like Toyota, GMC recognized the necessity of that connectivity and made sure to include it. Not only are you connected, but you’re also not cramped in the 2019 Sierra. GMC was able to get the drivers and passengers quite a bit of leg room and space, even in the single cab options. The GMC says "no" to a cramped interior, making it a great used truck. 2019 Ford F-150 While Fords can be our bitter rivals to the end, we must give them credit where credit is due. Their 2019 Ford F-150 is a quality used truck that is sure to please drivers. 2019 was a good year for manufacturing, and Ford’s 2019 is easily one of their best releases yet. Greatness for the 2019 F-150 comes in the form of customizability. Ford enabled the 2019 models to come with a great variety of cabin and color options that make them unique to each driver. They also made a few changes to the exterior of the 2019s that made them more efficient in the fuel department. Another area of greatness for the F-150 is how well they detailed the interior. While some of these features, such as massaging chairs, are not standard, the fact that you could get them with a used truck price is just too much to ignore! Ford also made sure that the F-150 can have just about any safety feature you want on it. Most of these options are only available on other brands' higher trims, but for the Ford 2019 F-150, a great deal of them can have these features added without the cost of the higher trims. These things make the 2019 F-150 a great buy, even if they are a Ford. 2017 Nissan Frontier Holding our fifth-place spot for a favorite used truck is the 2017 Nissan Frontier. This truck is in our top five because it is reliable. It doesn’t have all the fancy features of the other trucks on the list, but it runs well. It can do everything these other trucks can at half the cost because it doesn’t have any additional extra features. Some might feel like that is a downside, but we feel like it's a good thing. Nissan invested in ensuring that the 2016 Frontier would work in any situation, and they were very successful. The 2017 Frontier is compact and capable. It's also super affordable, especially at used truck prices. While it doesn’t have the fanciest interiors and trims, it has some of the most durable seats and interior plastics available. Basically, if you’re looking for a truck that is just a truck, the Frontier is a great pick. A Truck for Every Type of Driver There’s a huge variety of used trucks available right now.
