Interior
Passenger & Cargo Space
Step inside the cabin, and you'll be greeted with an airy interior that has room for all of the passengers and cargo you might want to take along for the ride. The space is easy to reconfigure, so you can strike just the right balance between people and things and quickly switch things up as your needs change from ride to ride.
When it comes to passengers, the Traverse has three rows of seating that can comfortably fit seven or eight people, depending on whether you opt for a bench or captain's chairs in the second row. With a roomy 32 inches of legroom in the way back, you don't have to be a parent to make full use of the SUV's capacity.
If you want to convert some of those seats into open cargo space, the Traverse has you covered. The third-row bench seat has a 60/40 split, so you can fold it down partially or completely to suit your needs. Upgrade to the RS or High Country trims, and you'll get standard power-folding second and third-row seats, making it a breeze to switch back and forth. But even with the manual folding offered on entry-level trims, it's still a fairly simple affair. With all of the seats up, there's 22.9 cu.ft. of cargo volume in the back, which can expand into an impressive 97.6 cu.ft. with the second and third rows folded down. Whether you're bringing some luggage along to the airport or transporting bulky appliances, the Traverse has the space you need.
Comfort
The Traverse's cabin offers passengers more than just plenty of space. There are also a variety of comfort features available that can turn an errand run into a getaway and a road trip into a walk in the park. As the driver, you can rest assured that all trims come standard with an 8-way power-adjustable seat that includes power lumbar support. You can easily get your position just right and avoid back pain and fatigue, even on long drives. Upgrade to the RS or High Country trim, and you'll be able to save your settings using the memory feature and return to them at the push of a button after letting someone else drive. You can save up to two settings, so you and a partner can each have your own, and it'll adjust the mirrors, too, so you'll be all set and ready to go.
No matter the weather, you can get cozy in the Traverse. Plenty of climate control features come standard across all trims, so even if you opt for the entry-level LT, you won't have to suffer through summer heat waves or winter cold snaps. Tri-zone automatic climate control lets you, your front passenger, and the rear seat passengers each set a unique temperature setting so everyone can stay comfortable, even if they don't all agree on the perfect cabin temperature. Thanks to auxiliary controls in the rear of the cabin, those sitting in the back can adjust things for themselves and not request changes from the driver and front passenger as their needs change. Up front, standard heated seats and a heated steering wheel keep things nice and warm on chilly mornings. Upgrade to the RS or High Country trim, and you can also get ventilated front seats to help cool down in the heat and heated rear seats to please backseat passengers.
A remote start comes standard on all trims, so you don't have to wait in discomfort while the climate control does its thing when you first get into the cabin. You can use a button on the key fob to start the vehicle from afar. By the time you climb in, the temperature will be just right.
Technology
Standard Infotainment
With the 2025 Traverse, you don't need to upgrade beyond the entry-level LT trim in order to get useful tech features. Many cutting-edge conveniences are standard fare across the board. No matter your budget, you can enjoy an enhanced driving experience.
The base of operations is a 17.7-inch color LCD color display in the center of the dashboard that gives you and your front passenger easy access to a variety of settings. You don't have to use the touchscreen while you drive, of course. Tactile controls built into the steering wheel, a physical volume knob, and natural voice recognition let you safely give commands without taking your eyes off the road. Behind the steering wheel, a large 11" digital gauge display provides you with important information like your speed and fuel status and puts safety warnings in your natural line of sight.
Convenience
Since most people rarely leave home without a smartphone these days, the Traverse is ready to help you keep yours charged and make the most of it. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity let you make calls, use text-to-speech to safely send messages, and use apps like music streamers, podcatchers, and maps through the vehicle's interface so you can stay connected, have access to your favorite entertainment, and get from Point A to Point B easily. A wireless charging pad comes standard, too, so you can truly go cord-free and save yourself the frustration of losing or breaking fragile cables. But that doesn't mean there aren't USB ports—the Traverse comes standard with two up front and two in the back, and each pair features both a Type A port and a Type C port to cover all of the basics. If you don't want to rely on your phone for apps and navigation, you don't have to. Google built-in also comes standard, so you can use Google Assistant, Google Maps, Google Play, and more without connecting any external device.
Safety
Driver-Assist Features
The 2025 Traverse comes standard with all kinds of safety and driver assist technology to help you stay aware of your surroundings and avoid danger while out on the road. Alerts will warn you about imminent forward collisions, bicyclists approaching from the side, unintentional lane departures, vehicles in your blind zone when you're about to merge, and obstacles behind you when you're backing up. These alerts can come through as visuals on the screens and noises, but they can also come through the standard Safety Alert Seat, which uses vibrations on the left, right, or both sides of the driver's seat to immediately let you know where the danger is coming from.
In certain situations, the safety systems can even act automatically to avoid trouble, like Forward Collision Alert, Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, or Blind Zone Steering Assist. IntelliBeam automatic high beam headlights turn your brights on and off automatically in response to changes in lighting conditions, so you can see at night without distracting other drivers. Adaptive cruise control lets you set a desired speed like a normal cruise control system, but then it will slow down or stop in order to keep a good following distance between you and the vehicle ahead of you, speeding back up to the set speed only when the coast is clear.
Available Features
Upgrade to the RS or High Country trim levels, and you can access some even more advanced features. Traffic Sign Recognition remembers the latest speed limit signs so you can stay safe if you miss one. HD Surround Vision comes in handy when parking or maneuvering in tight spaces, giving you a 360º view of the area around your vehicle. Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist can practically park the Traverse for you, taking care of steering, braking, and gear shifting to parallel or perpendicular park and get back out of the space when you're ready to leave. Super Cruise takes cruise control to the next level, letting you drive hands-free on compatible roads.
