Every year car enthusiasts look forward to manufacturers releasing their newly designed and improved favorite models causing the previous model years to become forgotten and left behind on dealerships’ lots. Contrary to popular belief, models do not drastically change year to year. Vehicles may get an added safety feature, a change in style for the headlights, or a few added colors or trims to choose from for more customization options, but the models stay pretty much the same unless they get a redesign. As your San Antonio Chevrolet dealer, we want to spotlight some of our favorite models of 2021 for you to look into for your next purchase because we don’t think any model should get left behind.

#5 Chevy Bolt EV

For our number five pick, we have chosen Chevy’s fun-size electric car, the 2021 Chevy Bolt EV. This model made it onto our list because we feel it does not receive as much hype as it should for being such a fun and eco-friendly option. It may be a subcompact hatch, but it still offers generous interior space for its passengers and whatever belongings are needed while on the road while providing you with a driving range hard to resist.

For a vehicle almost as practical as a small SUV, you really can’t go wrong, especially when you’re in the market for a small commuter car. With the ability to easily maneuver in tight spaces, a maximum of 56.6 cubic feet of cargo room with the rear seats folded down for your solo trips and 16.9 cubic feet just behind the back seat, along with the 94.4 cubic feet of interior space, you and your three passengers will barely even realize that you are cruising around in a mini-car. The Bolt EV even offers ample legroom for all. You and your front passenger will have 41.6 inches to stretch your legs in on the long drives, while the rear passengers will have 36.5 inches. You’ll just have to make sure your tallest friend rides shotgun upfront with you.

Although the interior will not feel small, this little electric car sure can scoot. Maybe it’s the motor, or maybe it’s the size, but its 66 kWh front-wheel drive electric motor gives you enough go power when you need it most with its 200 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque. On a full charge, you can expect an EPA estimated 259 miles. And with the available DC Fast Charging system, you can charge the battery to 100 miles of range in 30 minutes. Meaning you could reach almost maximum battery life by charging it during your lunch break at work.

 #4 Chevy Blazer

Next on our list is the 2021 Chevy Blazer. The new Blazers aren’t quite the same as those that our parents and grandparents drove, but they have lived up to their name. This is why it has made the number four spot on our list. If you are one for choosing the less-traveled roads or prefer adventure for an escape, the 2021 Chevy Blazer will be a good choice for you. Even small families who have active lifestyles could benefit from a Blazer. With six different trims and three engine options, finding the right Blazer for your lifestyle and driving needs is simple.

This mid-size SUV seats up to five people and offers 107.8 cubic feet of passenger volume, which gives you plenty of room while being small enough to maneuver easily through the city or around trees and other obstacles off the pavement with the available all-wheel drive. Along with comfortable legroom of 41 inches for you and your front passenger and 39.6 inches for the back seat passengers, the Blazer provides a good amount of cargo space. The 30.5 cubic feet behind the rear seat and 64.2 cubic feet with the rear seat folded down to provide you with an ample amount of room for the essentials needed for the adventures off the beaten path for your weekend getaways.

Speaking of taking your Blazer off the pavement into unknown terrain, although this model is not as rugged as some SUVs available on the market, with the V6 engine and available Driver Mode Selector feature that includes an off-road setting, you will be able to take your getaways off the pavement and deep into the wilderness. Although you may not get the best fuel economy from the V6 engine, an EPA-estimated combined 21 MPG with AWD and a combined 22 MPG with FWD.

#3 Chevy Tahoe

For those looking for a versatile family vehicle, look no further. The 2021 Chevy Tahoe is the perfect contender. With its three rows of seating and abundance of cargo room, towing capability, and an off-road specific model, you can do anything. You can bring the kids and their friends to the soccer games, go on a family camping trip with the pop-up, and let your wild side out to play every once and a while with the few hours of free time you may get in between life’s craziness.

This full-size SUV from Chevy gives you plenty of customizable options for every lifestyle with its six trim levels and three engine options. You’ll be able to get a 6-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that gets you the best mileage out of the three available engines. The diesel has an EPA-estimated combined fuel economy rating of 24 MPG for RWD models or an EPA estimated 22 MPG combined for 4WD models.

On your excursions, you and up to seven others will have an abundance of space to keep you comfortable with the 44.5 inches of legroom for the front seats and 42 inches for the second row, and 34.9 inches for the third row. If your trip is a solo one, you can utilize the maximum cargo volume of 122.9 cubic feet with the second and third-row seats down.

Besides the best-in-class cargo volume, ample passenger seats, and trailering capability, the Z71 model is our favorite with its rugged appearance and exclusive off-road equipment. This model comes standard as four-wheel drive and is equipped with a front skid plate, recovery hooks, and other features to help protect your Tahoe and help you get through the rough terrains for the times you get to play as hard as you work.

#2 Chevy Colorado

Nothing beats having a truck. Even more so today since they are more family-friendly than ever before. They may not offer much interior cargo storage space, but there are aftermarket customizable options to utilize your bed as interior storage for both work and play. The 2021 Chevy Colorado is the smaller of Chevy’s truck options, making it perfect for those looking for a commuter truck that they can utilize after hours for work around the house or play.

For adventurers, this mid-size pickup is also available in the Z71 trim as well as the more aggressive ZR2, allowing you to take your adventures anywhere. You’ll have multiple trims to choose from to help you customize it specifically for what you want and need. It also has three engine options and multiple cab and bed sizes to choose from. The engine with the best fuel economy and towing capacity is the 4-cylinder turbo-diesel option that can trailer up to 7,700 pounds. This engine has a combined EPA-estimated fuel economy rating of 23 MPG with RWD or 22 MPG with 4WD.

As for space, the crew cab seats up to five people in total. This spacious cab offers its passengers 45 inches of legroom in the front and 35.8 inches in the back, as well as 41.3 cubic feet of cargo volume for the short bed option and 49.9 cubic feet for the long bed. That doesn’t seem all that bad for being Chevy’s small truck.

#1 Chevy Silverado 1500

Last but certainly not least, our number one pick for the 2021 Chevy models is the Chevy Silverado 1500. There are so many reasons why this tops our list. Not only because it is a pickup that gives you the most capabilities out of all the vehicle types, but because it has so many customizable options. It will be hard not to find a Silverado 1500 that will be a good fit for you, your family, your work, your commute, your needs, your desires, and your adventures. With six engines to choose from, eight trim levels, and seven special editions, the Silverado is an all-around versatile option for anyone.

From off-road capabilities to a maximum towing capacity of 13,300 pounds and a total of 89.1 cubic feet of cargo storage in the long bed, the Silverado can do it all. With a spacious, functional, and feature-loaded interior that provides a maximum of 44.5 inches of legroom for you and your front-seat passenger and 43.4 inches for the rear-seat passengers with the crew cab option, you can’t go wrong choosing it. Don’t take our word for it; the choice is up to you.
