The 2027 Chevy Silverado 1500 has arrived, and we’re so excited to reintroduce shoppers to this legendary pickup. For decades, the Chevy Silverado 1500 has set the benchmark for what a flexible, powerful pickup can be. For 2027, Chevy has further emphasized the truck’s hardworking roots while making it sleeker and smarter in several ways.

Today, we’re covering some of our favorite features for the 2027 model. Some are new, while others are returning for another triumphant year. Let’s get to know the 2027 Silverado 1500 so you can decide if it’s the right full-size, light-duty truck for your life.

Mobile Workspace: The Multi-Flex Center Console

We know that for many Silverado drivers, not all work involves power tools and hard hats. Administrative tasks have to happen somewhere quiet and tidy. That’s why the 2027 Silverado 1500 features an all-new Multi-Flex Center Console that serves as a mobile workspace, providing a convenient place to fill out an invoice or review blueprints in your cabin.

The console’s top half can be lifted open and extended forward 180 degrees to create a fully flat, sturdy surface, making it ideal for handling paperwork. When the console is shut in its standard position, it provides a wide, comfortable armrest while leaving two large cupholders exposed. Lift the entire console to reveal a deep storage compartment beneath it, perfect for keeping larger valuables like wallets or phones out of sight.

You can leave the large storage compartment concealed, beneath the armrest. The rear of the console has two additional beverage holders, giving rear seat passengers a place to store their drinks during your trips.

Interactive Tech: New Front Passenger Screen

For the first time in the Silverado 1500, the front-seat passenger can participate in important tasks on the road or simply enjoy themselves more, thanks to the front passenger screen. This 11.5-inch screen allows your co-pilot to stream media, like videos and playlists, allowing them to entertain themselves or play DJ for the whole crew on long drives.

The passenger screen also lets your front seat driver manage navigational inputs. So you can ask them to type in the next address you want to visit or look up route information. Want to find a great coffee shop along your route or look up the nearest gas station? Now your co-pilot can do that for you on their screen.

Gone are the days of your passenger grabbing your phone to look up directions or change the song. Now they have their own screen to do that from.

Immersive Visibility: The Sprawling Display Experience

You’ll love how in command and in-the-know you feel in the 2027 Silverado, thanks to its sprawling displays. Today’s edge-to-edge display contains a 16.3-inch center screen alongside a 12.2-inch Driver Information Center. Both of these expansive displays come standard across the entire lineup, so whichever trim you choose, you’ll have a fully immersive digital experience.

The informative displays don’t end there. You can also get a Heads-Up Display that displays time-sensitive information in your line of vision. It projects data like your current speed, the speed limit, safety alerts, and navigation information on your windshield, just beyond your steering wheel.

Rounding out the informative displays is the available rear camera mirror, which turns your rearview mirror into an additional display area for your rear camera footage. This will show you the rear of your truck, unobstructed by things like headrests or pillars.

Hands-Free Towing: Super Cruise Technology

You probably already know that the Silverado 1500 can tow large vessels. You might even already know that the Silverado has several cameras that help you monitor your vessels. Here’s the best perk, though: Chevy’s hands-free driver-assistance technology, Super Cruise, works with compatible trailers for extra peace of mind when towing.

As of now, Chevy is the only brand to offer hands-free driving while towing. Its competitors offer hands-free driving as well, but as of right now, the driver-assist technology does not extend to trailering. Given that many truck drivers travel long distances while towing, being able to use Super Cruise is a major benefit. You can relax behind the wheel, letting Super Cruise take over your Silverado 1500 so you can arrive at your destination safely and fully refreshed to take on whatever the day has in store for you.

Airy Cabin Comfort: Panoramic Sunroof

Just because you spend long stretches behind the wheel doesn’t mean you shouldn’t get to enjoy the scenery. The 2027 Silverado 1500 offers an available panoramic sunroof that lets you bring natural light and fresh air into your cabin.

You can adjust the sunshade to expose either glass panel or both. You can also tilt the front panel to let in a light breeze or open it to let in more fresh air. Whether you’re on a road trip, taking in the sights, or just stuck in traffic on a sunny day, you’ll love letting the outside in with the panoramic sunroof.

Ultimate Utility: The Multi-Flex Tailgate

The fan favorite, the Multi-Flex tailgate, continues for the 2027 model year, adding everyday convenience and flexibility. This specialized tailgate has been with the Silverado lineup since 2021 and doesn’t appear to be going anywhere anytime soon.

The Multi-Flex tailgate can be set to the following six positions:

  • Primary Tailgate: This is the traditional position, allowing you to drop the tailgate flat or keep it fully closed.
  • Primary Gate Load Stops: With the primary tailgate folded down, raise the inner load stops to help secure long items and prevent them from sliding out of the bed.
  • Inner Gate Folds Down: As its name suggests, this position lets you fold the tailgate down and out of the way, giving you easier access to your bed’s contents without needing to reach over the entire gate.
  • Inner Gate Work Surface: With the primary gate closed, you can fold down an inner gate that serves as a standing work surface.
  • Inner Gate Load Stop: Perfect for two-tier loading when you don’t want items sliding out of the bed, lifting up the inner gate load stop is the perfect solution.
  • Full-Width Step: Fold the inner gate into the lowered primary tailgate to create a full-width step that supports up to 375 lbs.

No matter what your work days or recreation look like, the Multi-Flex tailgate supports a range of tasks.
