2024 Chevy Tahoe
Are you looking for a new family vehicle? Chevrolet can offer you the best such experience in the 2024 Chevy Tahoe. This full-size SUV can seat up to nine passengers, but if you don’t need that many seats, you can elect to have the middle row replaced by captain’s chairs. The Tahoe is known for its spaciousness, even in the third row, as there’s more room to stretch out and move around for younger kids or even an adult who just needs a short catnap in the back. You’ll also have plenty of cargo space for whatever the day has for you in terms of errands, activities, holidays, etc.
The Tahoe is an incredibly popular model thanks to Chevrolet’s commitment to its customers as a dependable, tech-forward, innovative company. The Tahoe has only improved over time, and with so many customization options, you can put together a vehicle that truly works for you. If you’ve been wondering about replacing the old family vehicle, you couldn’t choose a better time to try out the Chevy Tahoe. The 2024 iteration is a powerhouse packed with safety and convenience features, ready to take you and your family on the journey of a lifetime.

Powertrain
Three Engine Options
Though there is a standard powertrain for the 2024 Chevy Tahoe, there are also options if you want to try something new. The standard powertrain includes a 5.3L V8 gasoline-fueled engine and a ten-speed automatic transmission; these are aided by a 220-amp alternator and four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes. The Tahoe is available with four-wheel drive, which is excellent news for those families that live in areas that often see rain and mud throughout the year. The Tahoe’s powertrain is ready to take on just about anything you can throw at it, from slick roads to muddy driveways to highway traffic.
Of course, if you’re looking for something a bit more powerful, there are other powertrain options, though one of them is dependent upon which trim level you ultimately go with. If you want something just a bit beefier, you can choose a higher trim level that comes equipped with a 6.2L V8 gasoline-fueled engine. It also comes standard with a ten-speed automatic transmission, but you can also up the alternator to a 250-amp (this alternator can be switched out even if you don’t move up a size for the engine). Four-wheel drive is a given, of course, as is the Autotrac single-speed transfer case, which is designed to send power to the front for extra traction.
If you’ve contemplated making the move from gasoline to diesel, the 2024 Chevy Tahoe can roll with that, equipped to house a 3.0L Duramax turbo-diesel engine if so desired. It is also paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission, and will give you 277 hp to work with, as well as 460 lb-ft of torque. The engines are equipped with an air filtration monitor, and if you’re living in a colder area, you might want to add the available engine block heater.
Safety
Preventing Accidents
If you are looking to get a family vehicle, you want quality safety features that will help prevent accidents (and soften the impact, should the unthinkable happen). There are also driver assist features that can help make driving easier, sort of like having a backseat driver that’s actually helpful. With so many safety features at your fingertips, you’ll be able to enjoy the ride at a level you’ve never experienced before. The 2024 Chevy Tahoe comes equipped with a standard seven-airbag system, including head-curtain airbags for front and rear outboard seats, front and side airbags for the first row, and a Passenger Sensing System for the front passenger seat that can tell whether or not the airbag is needed if the seat is occupied.
Another standard safety feature across all trim levels of the Tahoe is Automatic Emergency Braking, which includes camera technology to induce hard braking if needed. It pairs with the Forward Collision Alert safety feature to ensure that you can avoid or at least reduce the severity of a frontal crash. These systems are beneficial for those moments when traffic starts and stops as you scramble to make sure everyone has what they need; it’s also safer for your younger drivers to practice their driving skills.
Other safety features include the Chevy Safety Assist suite, complete with Front Pedestrian Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, IntelliBeam auto high beams, a Following Distance Indicator, and the aforementioned Automatic Emergency Braking System and Forward Collision Alert. Buckle to Drive is also standard, as are Front and Rear Park Assist, an HD Rear Vision Camera, Hill Start Assist, LED Daytime Running Lamps, a Tire Pressure Monitoring System, and Chevy’s Teen Driver mode, which lets you customize specific settings or even eliminate them altogether for your teen driver, who will receive an in-vehicle report card that shows their progress.
Trims
Plenty of Options
If you’re looking for spartan furnishings, the base trim level Tahoe LS might be what you’re looking for. If you want a few extra features but don’t want to get overloaded, there are several trim levels above the LS that you can choose from—and if you feel like you want to be pampered every time you step into the Tahoe, there are a few higher trim levels for extra safety, comfort, and convenience features that will help everyone feel calm and comfortable even if you’re taking them to see the dentist. Whichever way you decide to go, the Chevy Tahoe has plenty of options for you to choose from.
The LS is the base trim, which comes with all the previously mentioned safety features. It also comes with 18-inch Bright Silver wheels, as well as a 17-inch full-size spare steel wheel. Black assist steps, heated power outside mirrors, roof-mounted side rails, deep-tinted glass, Rainsense automatic wipers, a spare tire carrier, and a solar-absorbing windshield all come standard on the LS; with all this, it’s difficult to imagine a trim level even more luxurious, but if you want more, Chevy has it.
A Trim for Every Driver
The other trim levels are LT, RST, Z71, Premier, and High Country. The LT and RST add a hands-free power liftgate with emblem projection, making it easy to open the back even with your hands full, and the LT is also available with either the LT Signature Package or the LT Signature Plus Package. The first adds the Max Trailering Package, the Luxury Package, a panoramic power sunroof, and 20-inch polished aluminum wheels; the second has all of those features without the Max Trailering Package. If your family is more of the adventurous type, you may want to consider going up another trim level to the Z71, which was built specifically for off-road explorations.
The last two trim levels—the Premier and High Country—will seat you in the lap of luxury each time you step inside. You’ll have additional features like Hill Descent Control, Magnetic Ride Control, a heated driver-side auto-dimming power mirror, HD Surround Vision, and a Head-Up Display, in addition to a plethora of comfort and convenience features only available on the two highest trim levels. Whether you’re looking for a kid-friendly vehicle, an off-road wonder, or the ultimate in stylish family transports, the 2024 Chevy Tahoe has a trim level for that.
Features
Comfort and Convenience
All the trim levels come with a standard set of comfort and convenience features, which include plenty of USB ports, 12-volt power outlets, 120-volt household outlets, and wireless charging to keep your devices powered up. Three years of OnStar Remote Access (which allows you to automate some of the basic functions like starting your vehicle and checking the fuel level and tire pressure), Bluetooth connectivity, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto help keep you connected. Meanwhile, the standard Cargo Management System includes moveable dividers to keep everything neat and in place for the duration of your trip. From the base trim to the highest, every Tahoe comes equipped with these features so that families can enjoy their time on the road together
Interested in what else the Tahoe has to offer? The highest trim levels also include comfort and convenience features like a Bose ten-speaker audio system for enhanced audio quality. Driver seat memory settings, a power-sliding center console, power-release second-row bucket seats, and a 60/40 power split-folding third-row bench make configuring the interior quick and easy. Plus, HD Surround Vision, Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Rear Pedestrian Alert, Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking, and more enhance your safety on the road. There are also available features and packages should you wish to enhance your SUV even further.
The 2024 Chevy Tahoe is the perfect fit for your family, whether you’ve got one that’s still growing or you’re now driving teenagers around to school, events, and errands. It’s an incredibly safe vehicle, particularly with the LATCH system, Teen Driver software, and the suite of safety and assist features. You won’t have to worry about other vehicles, pedestrians, or wildlife much since you’ll have extra tools to help you avoid any sort of accident. With its unique look, comfortable interior, and robust powertrain, the 2024 Chevy Tahoe will make you all look good wherever you go.
