A Look at Chevy’s All-Electric Vehicles

Chevrolet currently has two fully electric vehicles in our lineup: the Chevy Bolt EV and Chevy Bolt EUV. While these two models are currently available, Chevy is also releasing three additional EVs that may ring a bell for fans of the brand; the Silverado EV, Blazer EV, and Equinox EV. Scheduled for release in 2023, all three upcoming EVs are equipped with innovative technology under the hood and throughout the cabin. Setting a high bar for the entire automotive industry, Chevy is leading the pack with its EV sedans, SUVs, and pickup truck. With an EV available in every style, there's something for everyone.

Embodying the advantages of an all-electric motor and the affordable price points of a Chevrolet vehicle, the Chevy Bolt first launched in 2017 and quickly rose in popularity thanks to its budget-friendly MSRP. Not only do EV drivers get to forgo the instability of oil and gas price fluctuations, but many states also offer additional tax credits and rebates for making an environmentally friendly choice. With the increase in demand, Chevy plans on amping up production for both the Chevy Bolt and Bolt EUV, its longer, more roomy model. The first with its affordable price tag and impressive range, it’s no wonder the Bolt attracts so many drivers to make the switch to EV.

Built with a 65-kWh battery pack, the Bolt delivers 200 hp, giving it enough performance to cruise around town or take out on a road trip. With a range of up to 259 miles, you can confidently drive the Bolt, knowing that you'll never have to stop at the pump again. An hour on a 240V connector gets you 25 miles of range, with nine hours needed to restore the battery fully. According to Chevrolet, powering up for 30 minutes at a DC fast charging station will get you 100 miles of range for when you’re on the go.

You’ll enjoy a quiet interior due to the reduced noise produced by an electric motor, a welcomed change to its noisier gas-powered competition. The Bolt is designed with a battery pack underneath the car floor, which helps with handling. The cabin is built with soft yet durable materials that look stylish and are easy to clean. The 2022 model offers a refreshed look, an improved infotainment system, and a suite of innovative safety features. The safety and driver assistance tech includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist with lane departure warning, following distance indicator, and IntelliBeam auto high beam assist, all standard.

Chevy’s 2023 EV Lineup

The 2023 lineup of Chevrolet EVs is one with which few brands, if any, can compete. Five fully electric vehicles in different body styles and trims, packed with options. This lineup includes the already popular Bolt EV and Bolt EUV, the Silverado EV, the Equinox EV, and the Blazer EV. Chevy understands the key to getting more drivers to make the jump to electric is to incentivize them with quality vehicles at affordable prices. Providing all-electric alternatives to the Silverado, Blazer, and Equinox will undoubtedly see many drivers happily converting. While brands like Tesla and Fisker build EVs outside most consumers’ budgets, Chevy has designed a lineup of vehicles packed with the latest technology, exquisite design, and competitive pricing.

The Chevy Silverado EV is bound to wow the masses with its 400-mile range, 660 hp, and 780 lb-ft of torque. Not only is the Silverado EV fast and capable, but it’s also groundbreaking in its versatility in today’s EV marketplace. As for the forthcoming SUVs, the Equinox EV and the Blazer EV offer generous cargo space, a long-lasting battery range, and the safety innovations sought by drivers looking for the perfect family vehicle. The midsize Blazer EV offers two battery size options, a hair-raising 557 hp, tons of options for exterior colors and interior features, and all the performance you’d expect of a Chevy SUV. The compact Equinox EV boasts an impressive 300-mile range and comes with innovative tech like the Super Cruise and reverse automatic braking.

What to Consider When Shopping for an EV

If you’re brand new to electric vehicles, you’re in good company, as this technology has taken the automotive industry by storm. At a time when gas prices are unpredictable and environmental impact is a key consideration for many consumers, there’s never been a better time to learn the ins and outs of EVs before you begin your search. It’s important to look at the features of an EV, like the range, charging time, and the equipment you may need to have installed at home.

The range of a vehicle is critical, especially if you’re someone who commutes long distances. A better range means less time between charges and more freedom to take your EV on longer trips. Charging time depends on your access to fast charging stations and whether you opt for a 120V connector or the available 240V connector. Regarding equipment you may need, you’ll want to ensure you have space for a home charging station, allowing you the flexibility to recharge your EV while you relax at home.
