Chevy Colorado for Sale

Pickup trucks come in all shapes and sizes, providing unparalleled performance and versatility for jobs that range from small to large. The reason pickups come in so many shapes and sizes is that not everybody wants a beast of a truck, whereas a generously sized model falls more toward practical use and won’t cost a fortune.

The appeal of trucks like this is why many seek the Chevy Colorado for sale, because this more modestly-sized pickup truck will cost you less than any other pickup in Chevy’s lineup. You can find the Chevy Colorado here at North Park Chevrolet, a reputable dealership you can count on in Greater Castroville. We capture the brilliance of Chevy throughout our practices, and you’ll find that buying from an authorized dealer like North Park Chevrolet is the best way to get the best shopping experience.

An Overview of the Chevy Colorado

The Colorado is the truck in Chevy’s lineup that’s both the smallest and the most cost-effective of the three; the Silverado and Silverado HD are Chevy’s full-size trucks, rounding out the lineup. The Colorado has been around for over twenty years; the first model year was back when this truck was a compact—the 2004 Colorado.

Remaining as a compact for about a decade, the Colorado briefly vanished for two model years before reappearing as the midsize truck we know today, starting with the launch of the 2015 Colorado. You may be one of the millions of drivers who find the Colorado fits perfectly into your lifestyle as this midsize truck fits everyone from the entry-level pickup truck crowd to off-road or performance hobbyists, and it’s also great for site work if you own a freelance business.

With Colorados released in and after 2014 being midsize trucks, their interiors are generally larger than the ones that preceded it. Regarding the Colorado’s bed sizes, the 2023 model and onwards have one bed size, which is almost equivalent to the short bed of the two options of preceding models (the long bed being the second option).

This means your Colorado—if it’s from the 2023 model year or beyond—comes with a five-foot, two-inch bed harnessing 41.9 cu.ft. of space. Models before this (and their aforementioned short and long bed configurations) meant Colorados with the former have 41.3 cu.ft. of space, while long-bed models have 49.9 cu.ft. of space. The Colorado has a maximum seating capacity of five passengers, with the Crew Cab being the sole cabin configuration option.

The Colorado can be equipped to be seriously off-road-ready. The best way to do this is to buy the Colorado ZR2, built by the factory as one of the most off-road capable pickup trucks on the market. However, the Trail Boss is also a great trim for off-roading, with its two-inch factory-installed lift, two-speed high and low transfer cases, 18-inch tires, and a handful of drive modes to select from, like normal, tow/haul, terrain, and off-road.

The 2024 Colorado ZR2 increases the factory-installed lift to three inches, has ultimate dampers, hearty 33-inch tires, and a suspension more finely tuned for off-roading than the other trims. However, there’s also the ZR2 Bison—a package that makes the already sufficient ZR2 an even more off-road-focused machine with an increase in tire size to 35 inches, stronger front and rear bumpers, and a total of five steel skid plates located beneath the truck. Among many other things, the ZR2 Bison increases the factory-installed lift once more, going from three inches in the regular ZR2 to 4.5 inches with the ZR2 Bison.
